I've seen conflicting info about this.
Is the USB-C a USB 2.0 or 3.x Port?
Thanks
According to the product page on their website, it is USB 3.0.
However, I have not been able to get any speeds higher than 2.0 speeds through USB, using proper USB 3.0 cables and a USB 3.1 interface on my PC

As the title suggest I am curious if anyone has some evidence of the USB protocol supported by the USB C port.
In the MIUI forums some say 2.0 and some 3.0 and I am not sure if I have a good way to accurately measure that with MTP type of connections.
Based on the following thread over at the MIUI forums, it's USB 2.0.

Hello, here is the following testing I have done to the Motorola Z Play, I have plenty of resources to play with the USB-C and all kinds of Monitors and TV's.
This is the progress: USB-C to...
DP: Not Working
DP 1.2: Not working
DP 1.4: Not working
HDMI: Not Working
HDMI 1.4: Not Working
HDMI 2.0: Not tested yet
HDMI Yuv420 (UHD, HDR) : Not tested yet
HDMI MHL (UHD): Not tested yet
VGA and DVI are not working.
HDCP is working fine on my device. I'm using the latest version of Lineage OS.
Do you want me to test it more to another output?
Hi,
I'm using this adapter : M.Way Aluminium MHL Micro USB to HDMI Cable Digital AV Adapter Plug
It permits to mirror the screen on TV.
just no video with Apps which have "HDCP" video copyrights protection like Netflix
HEY
dont use the stock DATA cable since that is only USB 2.0, buy a USB 3.1 data cable and repeat those tests once again and then post it here. now those results are just ****.

Do you know the diferences between the standard of USB-C and USB, right? What do you mean???
The cables that I did used are USB-C, and the panels which I used are DP, HDMI, VGA, and DVI.
Your comment makes no sense, cause a "USB 2.0 and 3.1" are the standard USB but with different cables. Im using USB-C, which is A LOT BETTER than the "recommendation" you gave.
Really, what do you mean??

i know what is USB-C is i am talking about the other end of the data cable,
you see there are TWO end to a data cable one end is USB-C and the other end must be USB A type with USB 3.1 wiring style that means its base should be blue color and it has to have 4+5=9 pins in it please google USB 3.1 A type for more info
in india stock data cable is USB-C to USB 2.0 A type connector with only 4pins thats why lot of guys who tried to connect HDMI has been failed because HDMI needs USB 3.1 which has 9 pins.

I have never said that i'm using USB.
My dongles are USB-C to Video Television or Digital Video. There is no way my panels accepts video over USB. These are my dongles:
USB-C to HDMI 2.0
USB-C to HDMI
USB-C to eDP(Female)
USB-C to DP
Why would I need USB, while I have the actual dongle without needing another dongle for the USB you are menctioning? Can you see the photo I provided please?
The reason none of the adapters work is because the type C Port of the Z play doesn't have the HDMI/video out chipset/hardware. Hopefully this will become standard on type c phones but right now, it's wishful thinking. Maybe if this was a Mac book the type c would do video, Ethernet, charging, etc...
Let's not forget, this is midrange phone. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news on this one.

Do you use it with the moto Z ? surprising as moto has an usb-c port, not a micro-usb.
Did you manage to have hdmi screen output from a moto z [ /play/play2/force] ?
Yes, I have a Moto Z play.
I use an USB-C to normal USB cable (same cable to connect to my computer) to connect to the M Way MHL adapter (female USB input, the male USB input is for power)) . This cable is certified USB 3.1
I have another USB-C to normal USB cable but with this one it's not working (usb 2.0 only)
It's a kind of hdmi output, the adapter works as an usb screencast, usb debugging must be on on the smartphone
hope it helps
Hello, can someone try a usb-c to HDMI adapter with the ZTE Nubia Z20 please ?
Thank you
Nobody ? Can someone at least check if it has USB 3.0 or USB 2.0 version by transfering a file to a computer with a USB 3.0 cable and a USB 3.0 computer port please ?
USB 3.0 version is required for allowing HDMI out, USB 2.0 practical speed is approximately 35/40 MB/s and USB 3.0 practical speed is approximately 300 MB/s
Thank you in advance
Nubia doesn't support MHL and it doesn't have USB C 3.1, so it doesn't work ( I've tested it with mine)
no
First it must be USB type c to USB A. 3.0
What USB standard nobody seems to know. For sure but most tell me its a USB 3.0 At the A end.
And USB Type C at the other end.
Next we need to know what is required in the cable to support Dex.
Next we need to know what is required to support Samsung Fast Charge standard. I hear its not the same as Quick Charge.
Is there any cable out there that does all these things.
I know the cable that comes with the phone does not do this.
i.e. I fails in the USB transfer speed dept.
In short.
Dex compatible,
Fast Charge compatible. As per this link we only need Fast Charge 2.0
But I wonder why does Samsung Claim to use its own standard. i.e. what is the diffirence between the Samsung standard and QC standard.
https://www.qualcomm.com/media/documents/files/quick-charge-device-list.pdf
USB 3.0 Standard compatible for high speed data transfer.
(They say if the USB A port is blue and has more than 4 pads it will work).
Ps: So far I have figured that my wifes One Plus 6 cable does all these jobs.
Answering my own question.
Got to amazon.
Search using this text usb type c to usb a 3.1
I got an amazon Basic from the search the USB A port is blue in color an indication that it is 3.0 It does everything Dex, fast speed transfer and fast charge.
Glad that you managed to get your cable. But for future reference any standard USB A 3.0 - Type - C charging cable will be good. However beware of multi-plug to USB A 3.0 cables as they don't have the best charging speeds, unless you have a high wattage power supply.
I'm using a nice quality INIU cable, has nice quality braided cover, a led for dark car charging, to see cable.
is it : USB Type-C 2.0 ?
according to gsmarena it is yet again ver 2.0.
But can you use a USB C dongle to convert to HDMI for output?
Really interested on it

The 10 Ultra has no output on usb to hdmi connector. I tried it as I wondered after coming from a p40proplus which had a desk top mode. I imagine the 11 will be the same as it promotes the desktop app to share it's display like the 10.
You mean in wireless mode?
Yes,USB 2.0
It is still USB 2.0
Such a shame. Imagine transferring 500 GB of data with 30 MB/s rate.
usb 2.0, hahahha~It doesn't deserve to be called “安卓之光”
It's really disgraceful to use the best CPU money can buy , best ram, fastest ufs storage , best display , best charger and then go cheap on something like a USB 2.0 port.....
Someone who thought this was a good idea should be fired....
Yeah, i really don't understand why they put an usb 2.0 port. For a 2021 premium phone it's a nonsense.

I have not received my Mi 11 Ultra yet, but I believe it should work when using a Displaylink USB to HDMI Adapter and installing the Displaylink App on the phone. With USB 2.0 it should work fine for resolutions up to Full HD.
The USB Type-C Specification states that it must support at least the following standards, otherwise a Type-C connector cannot be used:
• USB 2.0 Specification
• USB 3.1 Specification
• USB Power Delivery Specification, Revision 2.0 (3.0)
• USB Billboard Device Class Specification, Revision 1.2
• USB Battery Charging Specification, Revision 1.2

I already tried it.
I had to power the USB C adapter then I plugged the Displaylink adapter to the USB C adapter.
It would not work without power.

Usb 2.0 was released in April 2000 and some clown at Xiaomi thought they should still use it in their ultra flagship 2021 phone ....
Words fail me...
I thought Xiaomi devices are 2.1 not 2.0

I use this
CableCreation USB HDMI Adapter(DisplayLink Chip), USB 3.0 to HDMI External Display Graphics Adapter Compatible with Windows 10/8.1/8/7, White https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DX33L5...abc_D4RSEZX9P70E6V3KSFR4?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
You need any USB C hub with a USB B A 3.0 hub and PD pass through.
Something like this
USB C Hub - TISOFU USB C Adapter with 4K HDMI USB3.0 SD/TF Card Reader 100W PD, 7 in 1 Type C Adapter Compatible for MacBook Pro, USB C Laptops Nintendo, Type C Devices(Gray) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B099WTZGM...abc_R2F1P2X1274TN188EYAV?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Then you need to give the hub power and then plug the displaylink adapter and the HDMI from displaylink to your video out device
Open the displaylink app on your phone and then plug your phone in.
Give it a few seconds if it didn't detect replug the USB C hub.
It's a messy dangle of wires but it works
