Hello all
I have a Verizon galaxy note 9 that I flashed using AT&T pie update. So I'm still stuck on QS1CSAA January 1 update. Haven't been on forums much. I would like to get back to standard Verizon OTA updates.
As of now, while still on QS1CSAA, my phone says it's up to date. Probably because of at&t flash. How do I go about getting back to "normal boring Verizon phone"?
Thank you
I think I might have found the answer. Thanks

hello my friend has been asking me some questions about this device apparently she is being promped for an OTA update.
she bought the phone off ebay and it was already flashed to page plus,. shes asking if the OTA will do any harm to the phone?
I have experience flashing Samsung devices to page plus but I have never come in contact with the HTC ONE. before. so im unsure what to do?
or even what the new OTA will do.
im a little confused as to why the ota is even avalible ot her if she is on pageplus network and not on sprint.
can anyone help?

I have a One flashed to Page Plus and received the software notification on Monday. I went ahead and allowed it to update after talking with my expert flasher . it didn't mess anything up on mine. It was just a software update, and I have Android 4.3 on there....
Yep you can take the update, and if it breaks anything we can fix it. My guide covers the entire flash process. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2601943
P.S. - It will not break anything go ahead and do the OTA (Its a software update that fixes profile and prl update issues) something that does not affect you on PagePlus
Need Help with Sprint HTC One unlocked to Pageplus
Please help me get my phone working...it won't allow me to send mms! I don't know if it needs to be flashed because it was only unlocked?

What versionnis ur g4 on if u update past zva u can no longer downgrade and root
@TheMadScientist420
Sorry was supposed to be in the S4 forums. I had my phone (lg g4) and my backup (s4) pages open. Posted on wrong one. I do apologize.
The reason i ask this is cause i was getting a error 407 while trying to update. Formated phone and now when trying to update it goes to hands free activation. This is going to be a wifi phone (no service just games)
home and at pc finally,
from what i can gather there is no 6.0 for the galaxy S4 sprint just 5.1 correct?

Note 8 is unlocked and currently with T-MOBILE, previously AT&T. I've search all day today and still can't find why I don't have the Oreo update yet. I have the Samsung keis software and it tells me I'm up to date. Did it ever come out for my baseband? I apologized in advance if this was already talked about, I only saw discussions about it being rooted. I want to keep it stock. Thanks

You can check for latest firmware related to your specific model on sammobile.com, then download through updato.com (or using the SamFirm tool) and flash it through Odin.

Since you're using it with T-Mobile and it was previously AT&T you're not going to get updates anymore unless you use an AT&T sim card.. The only way to get the updates at this point is to download the update firmware yourself and flash it through odin. The reason being is because T-Mobile doesn't carry AT&Ts firmware updates so you have to get it yourself.. It's easy as hell to find the firmware on places like Android File Host. Also do not download T-Mobile firmware it will not flash... Use AT&Ts firmware only.
I have a AT&T iPhone 7 from work, you guys think if I take that SIM and put it into the Note 8 the updates would come through? I was looking through the Sam mobile thing. You guys make it seem easy to manually update and I'm terrified being my first time doing it that way. But if you think the SIM card swap would work I'll give that a try first.

The sim card swap should work.. Can't hurt, try it and then check for updates.
It worked!!!
I swapped out the sim cards and it worked!
I ended up having to back up the device and restore, since the update wasn't showing up. I cleared the cache, checked and nothing. After restoring the phone the update became available. After the 8.0.0. update there was about 4 updates after (security patches). I'm now on 8.0.0 with Aug 2018 security patch. I put my tmobile sim card back in and restarted the phone. I even get the tmobile screen during boot up which I never gotten since I switched back in February. All in all it's working fine. I'll update if anything crops up. Thank you all for your help!
You can push software update with this procedure.
put this in your phone app: *#8736364#
Then go to Field Test mode.
Change "Device Initiated date" to one or a few minute ahead. wait until you see "SET" then press Home.
Wait until you see software update to kick it.
Try several times if it doesn't work at first.

So a couple of weeks ago I bought a second hand Galaxy Note 9. After a while I noticed that the last update that this phone received was in June 2019. Tried updating it from the phone - no luck. I downloaded and tried updating it with smart switch, but that did not work as well. I am using this phone in Europe, and I have no idea if its intended for the European market or not. Maybe that is the reason why it doesn't receive updates.
Baseband version: N960USQS1CSF1
Service provider: SAOMC_SM-N960U_OYN_XAA_PP_0003
Is there any chance that I can update this phone, or am I stuck with this old software version? Thank you.

Hey, I have the same phone, and the exact same baseband. I'm stuck on the android 9 update too, were you able to successfully flash it? If so could you tell the steps you did please, I'd really appreciate
Thank you!!
Phone system update checks always say up to date, phone is running android 8.0.0, I wanted android 9.0 on the phone. I downloaded 4 various sprint and verizon firmwares for this SM-N950U to use with ODIN, but it always fails.
Current firmware build number is R16NW.N950USQS5CRF6
What firmware will work on this phone, does it need to be SPR or Verizon?
Can I put a version android 9 on this phone?
Samsung smart switch also says firmware is up to date. Since my daughter has a Verizon note 8 on the verizon network she was able to upgrade to android 9.
Is it because this is a Sprint phone on the Verizon network, Verizon wont update the OS?
Solved it for now. Instead of sams mobile firmwares, I used UPDATO firmware, latest android 9 for a sprint phone. ODIN worked updating the system. Still when checking inside the phone for system updates, it says up to date. I now wonder if UPDATO firmware is non damaged and sams mobile has issues. And do you know definitively if you can not put a verizon firmware onto a sprint phone? None of the sams mobile firmwares worked whether they were sprint or verizon

The reason why it will not update is because you're using a Sprint branded phone on Verizon and if you think about it Verizon doesn't carry Sprints firmware it only carries Verizon firmware that's why you'll have to manually update it from now on. You can if you choose to put a Sprint sim card in it and then it'll update. Each carrier only carries their own branded firmware.. Make sense? Also try getting the firmware from here to it usually works the best. https://androidfilehost.com

Ok, makes sense, I am not familiar with any of this so I did not know. And neither did the verizon tech people know why it was not updating when I walked into the store apparently, because they claimed the Note 8 was too old and Verizon was no longer updating the OS software or security. Then they gave me Samsung's customer service number and told me if I give Samsung the serial number off the phone, Samsung will privately push the software update onto my phone...So I called them and they said no that IS WRONG. Run the Samsung program Smart Switch to update the OS, so I did and it failed, said it was uptodate. I was then told the phone can not be updated except by taking it into a samsung service center and pay a big fee.
So was very glad to at least get it up to date on my own without any of their 'expertise'

That's just Verizon's way of getting you out of the store or tricking you into buying a new phone. Samsung cannot "push" an update to your phone either seeing as they don't carry Sprints firmware either! The only thing you can do is just use odin and flash your own updated firmware.
