Havoc OS - Xiaomi Mi 8 Questions & Answers

Since the moderator has stopped the development of the Rom .... Could it be Havoc Os developed by another developer?

please no

why?

I do not think so.

Which Rom ist the best Option to use after Havoc?

it would be important to know if the project continues, to continue with havoc or change ROM

Make TWRP backup.
Flash another ROM and test it.
I prefer Syberia.
If havoc will continue then reinstall it from backup.
Or stay on another ROM. !!

Which twrp do you use?
I choose second rom and reboot. It starts 5 times vibrated and go to recovery mode. I try various ways as op says in the link you mentioned. Many times within a week?. Also test with miui global dev/ Los 14.1/ miuipro as primary roms( not try eu rom yet). I would like to use official miui rom as primary and others are secondary.
Please advise me. ??

Stable ROM
I have used CRDroid Nougat custom ROM for more than 2 months and its the best and stable Nougat ROM. Go for it. However battery life the best (as per my opinion) in MM--Vibe X2, VibeSavon!!

Ive used almost every oreo rom I dont find many difference, every rom has own features but its quite similar its my personal opinion I find all of them almost same in performance and battery backup

Sorry I can´t say. In my device before santoni I was on Resurrection Remix 5.8.5, but with santoni I wasn´t satisfied with it. So I stayed at first on Miui Xiaomi.eu 9 but not really satisfied too. With new oreo roms I changed to NITROGEN OS 8.1.0. That´s my way on santoni device...
For Oreo: Its NOS
For Nougat: It's Dot.OS
You must try Invicta OS rom, it's very smooth and stable.
Before this I tried Nitrogen OS (stable) but after reboot finger print didn't work, rest were fine.
Go ahead and try Invicta OS.
Use cardinal aosp rom. Best performance, better battery backup in comparrision of other Oreo roms.
Cardinal aosp is the best Oreo ROM for redmi 4 santoni. Everything is good in this rom. It also supports OTA updates and thanks for the developer for making an awesome rom.

Well I am using Aosp extended Oreo. Although I am facing problems with root. But the smoothness and stability is good. You won't get the same battery life as you get on miui but it's actually not bad.
You can try it out. I am quite satisfied with it but it might affect you if you need root access.
for me pixel experience.

Okay, sounds fair enough. The thing is that you'll have to flash ROMs on your own to check what is better for you.
I'll recommend you to open ROM section of Redmi 4X and and in new tab open YouTube and check and compare what suits for you because everyone has different choices and usage.
For me this ROM works great in terms of battery backup, performance and features (which is important to me)
Oreo based...
Resurrection Remix
dot OS
Havoc OS (ignore final build it has random reboot issue)
Pie based...
Arrow OS.
Havoc OS(using currently and it has good battery backup)
crDroid
Waiting for dot OS

Okay, go for Arrow OS then it has very limited customisation and it is close to stock Android You can check its UI and review on YouTube.
I haven't tried lineage OS (both Oreo and Pie) I like feature full of ROM which is can customize the way I want so I can't say anything about lineage OS but it you can check its thread for more details and it's stability, battery backup and bugs related stuff.

I don't get what you want exactly?
Custom roms are usually based on lineage OS and they get modified further by different rom developers and rom community.
There's currently no official Android pie based lineage OS available as I am writing this comment, however there's lineage Oreo ROM available which is nightly build.
If you only want to flash lineage OS then flash it. Pie ROM unofficially available flash it if you want to. They do get updated once developers avails it.
Also I did not get why are you sharing this stuff here, I think it's irrelevant.
There's also many other roms gives ota's and IMO it doesn't matter much if it's ota's or not. One can flash it manually. Only benefit is we get to know new update is available.
Wait for lineage OS pie official or flash Oreo based official lineage OS.
Seriously decide first what you want, I've given much of my time I think it won't be possible for me to do.

You'll find several custom roms official ones and unofficial ones.
Official ones are supported by its rom community and developers here help each other to build builds. you'll often see in credits that several rom community and developers helped to build it.
Unofficial ones are those builds which individual developer(s) built it on their own time they might have taken help from other developers (individual or from community)
XDA is most trusted among android enthusiast website. i can't say anything about other websites.
Custom roms needs to uploaded on their own website or some other cloud storage such as Gdrive, androidfilehost, sourceforge. usually this are download pages you'll be directed to.
If there is any other community or website i can't say anything about it.
Your discretion is advised in such cases.
For your information i've never had any issues with links shared on xda.
it is hard work from developers and community which avails custom rom to us which i appreciate and same goes to XDA.
If any case you are skeptical do not proceed, but it is better than that Xiaomi's MIUI which where they clearly said we will use user data and process it and data will send to their servers.

Custom rom for SM-T510 ?

Currently I've lineage os on my tablet (t510), I'm searching for something else more stable and with a bit more functions.

If you want roms with more function, try heading over to the project treble section of xda and flashing some GSI images. Currently using phhusson's stock Android 10 with go gapps but you might like to use a ROM with more features.

Based on my current understanding, project treble aims to make it easier for OEMs (like Samsung) to update android. Here's a more in depth read about project treble: https://www.computerworld.com/artic...ect-treble-android-upgrade-fix-explained.html
A GSI is a Generic System Image that can be flashed on top of existing vendor code. So it makes it easier to change/update your android OS without companies like Samsung having to modify their hardware compatibility code (that's the goal anyways) which leads to faster updates.
For us enthusiasts, that means we can flash the same stock android GSI ROM, lineageOS GSI ROM, resurrection remix GSI, etc. on any phone supporting project treble (all devices that came out with android 9+ & some android 8).That's the same GSI file on any device with a recent version of VNDK. It's not all perfect for compatibility yet, but I've yet to run into any issues.
Yup! As @Roarmaster said you can check out Project Treble page. I too use GSIs and have flashed 3 GSIs so I can recommend you some. In project treble section for AB devices search for Bless GSI, it has lot of customization and works quite well, selinux enforcing, megisk safety net passes and google play certification all by default.

Thank you for the tip, this sounds like an interesting option. I'm looking at flashing a custom ROM onto my SM-T510 in the hope of improving the performance as the multitaking on the stock rom isn't great. Can I ask have you been flashing A, B, or A/B ROMS? I've installed two different Treble checker apps and they gave conflicting results.

Flash the rooms from the A/AB section of project treble. When checking for treble compatibility, use the app recommended on Phusson's GSI page as most GSIs are based on his work. If you want to flash a ROM, make sure you flash the arm32-binder64-ab version (like it says from the treble app) for the SM-T510.
Amazing! Thank you for the info and links @Roarmaster, I really appreciate the help. I've known about project Treble for a while but I've been out of the custom ROM scene for quite a few years, so I had no idea you could flash like this. I'll give one of Phusson's roms a go. Thanks again!
