EVA-L19C432 update to Naugot

Has anyone with a P9 Dual Sim (european free version, EVA-L19C432) received Naugot beta via OTA (no bootloader unlocked and custom recovery) ?? I tried to register in the beta program but the confirmation never came and seems that the registration is no longer avialable.

I did. I was initially declined by the program due to a limit of testers being achieved but I got the OTA still after 2 weeks from registration.

So, you didn't get the confirmation and instead you were rejected, and still u got OTA update..
I registered like 3-4 days ago, downgraded to B161 'cuz I thought it could be related with something regarding manual updates.. but B161 has problem recognizing the SIM, and no update jumps there, so manually force to update back to B182..
And yet, nothing about Naugot OTA [emoji19]

[L09] Trying to update from B182 to B378

I've just rolled back to B182 and would like to update to EMUI 5 B378 which I was on before.
I have firmware finder and know how to use the proxy settings etc, I just don't know which one to choose in order to safely update, (I tried B361 using the proxy method but the update failed).
The Huawei updater says I'm on the newest version, if I need to dload B361 which one do I use? update.zip, update_full or update_full_public?

You do it incrementally if you want to be safe. Proxy method requires you to use the older hisuite software and not the latest one.

The next one up (in FirmwareFinder) is B360 but the fullOTA just fails to install both with the dialpad software update and dload method, same issue with B361

Try B383. I had the same issue, and it B383 worked for me.

I've just tried 383 and it gets to 14% and then fails , I emailed huawei who said "wipe your cache partition and factory reset" which did nothing and I contacted huawei livechat through the hicare app who said "you just have to wait for OTA updates, cause they're rolled out in batches".
I have a feeling that I'm going to be stuck with marshmallow (which I can deal with I guess), as nothing seems to want to work for me it's a strange and fickle world for Huawei updates it seems, what works for some doesn't for others

It's strange. Once I got to C432 through rebranding I had to reboot and factory reset several times and try all different versions of Nougat until I finally got it working.

P20 Pro Does not Update from CLT-L04 8.1.0.107(C792) to ...109

My new P20 Pro (Canadian Telus) is having issues updating to CLT-L04 8.1.0.109(C792) from CLT-L04 8.1.0.107(C792).
The Problem is that the device simply will not update no matter the method.
My device is unrooted at this point.
What Happens.
When going through each of the scenarios,
1) The firmware is downloaded,
2) The phone then boots into firmware installation mode,
3) Firmware supposedly is updated
4) Phone Boots
5) Upon checking in phone status the phone is still on CLT-L04 8.1.0.107(C792)
Methods I have Used to Update
A) OTA Update (result: not updated)
B) Factory reset the device and then trying to OTA Update. (result: not updated)
C) Update via HiSuite (result: not updated)
At this point, I am unsure why this is happening and how I can update to the new firmware.
Any advice or guidance is greatly appreciated!

Did you factory reset? After the last attempt? Is your bootloader unlocked? Have you tried eRevovery?

I have the same issue: new P20 Pro from Koodo (single SIM version), out of the box it prompted me to update, after I did this, I had for example a corrupted Settings app (name was a mix of letters and numbers and same name corruption with Chinese characters within). After this happened I did a factory reset, was back on 107 and was prompted to update again in the morning, which I did. Same outcome as above, after apparently successful installation and restart, I was still on 107 ...

Just got off a chat with Huawei Canada and apparently technicians are aware of the issue and are working on a hot fix that should resolve the update issue.

You issues are very similar to mine.
I also had a corrupted settings app as well (mix of letters and numbers with Chinese characters)
Still no fix for the 107 to 109 update to report on.

So I had a chat session with a rep on Huawei Canada's site, he mentioned that my phone was 'Not Ready' for the update and hence why it was not updating.
I opted into an email notification through the rep for when the update becomes available.
I would recommend anyone else with this issue to bring it up to Huawei Canada and opt into a notification when the issue is resolved.

Well, given the corrupted Settings app that I (and seemingly others) had, I would say that "not ready" is rep speak for "we screwed up, please wait until we fix it" ...

Was delighted to see that CLT-L04 8.1.0.111(C792) showed up as update on my phone this morning and I hit the install button right away. Sadly (and really really annoyingly) the behaviour is the same as with the 109 update: the update seems to work but after restart the Settings app is corrupted and system shows still to be on 107. Immediately after the restart I was told to update to 111 which I tried once more, only to got a "Update couldn't be installed" fail message.
I then downloaded 111 again, wiped the cache partition and tried another installation. This time, the installation happened a lot faster (given the amount of update data, unrealistically fast) and I got the Update success message again. However, upon restart, I was still on 107 - this is pathetic!

Just to add to this story, I had to send my phone in for repair and apparently (according to repair report) the mainboard was replaced?! I am on .111 now and sincerely hope that future updates will perform as intended ...

Why u had to send it to repair?? is it because of the 'Update' not really updating issue? If you got any further solution for this,please let me know. I am also having the same problem.

Has anyone had any success with updates yet? I am still stuck on 107 and it say 114 is ready but always goes back to 107. No updates have installed, had the Telus p20 pro since July .

I haven't had any success yet. This is my last phone from them

since Weeks i am having an annoying problem:
the Same update is coming, and i tried everything:
Install the Update approx 20 times
Check in Hicare -no update
Check in Hisuite - NO update
Email Huwai - No answer
Hard Restet (!) - Same
I have read that sometimes a newer update pops up, or with hisuite theres a new update, but always the same.
Any ideas?

I didn´t have the same problem but for me it was that I never got the 9.1 update.
Changing to another operators SIM-card triggered the update, and then after updating to the most recent version I switched back to my default sim.
Maybe it´s the solution to your problem as well, might be worth a shot at least.

This i tried also when the 9.1 update didnt come. Did not work for me. But i will give it again a try

I had that problem when I did update via moded HiSuite from 9.0.0.286 to 9.1.0.325... I downgraded again to 2.0.0.286 and then I updated first to 9.1.0.311 (no problem), and after that to 9.1.0.328
So try if you want, but I'm not responsible if something goes wrong...

I´ve tried it on 3 different pc´s, at home, in my company... Always the same.
Changed hosts file
installed hisuite and copied the modified files
opened ff on my p20 pro, approved .328 update
does not work, error.
Am i doing something wrong still?
I can download the update in ff, is there a risk to install it this way?

Have you changed the DNS in your wifi connection? Check out the box for IPV6, disconnect the internet, connect again and make sure that your mobile and Laptop are connected with the same network, you just need to change the DNS in your host file, nothing more, good luck.

Aaaah, i finally made it, wlan router with the dns settings did the trick, this was not mentioned in the manual i think?

[SOLVED] Stuck on EMUI 8.1 after repairing the Device

Hi I'm in a strange situation after the phone has been repaired in a Huawei center: my phone comeback with another motherboard and with an Old EMUI 8.1.0.163 version based on Android 8 with July 2019 security patch and since a new IMEI all my Ota updates got lost.
I've waited 3 weeks and no Ota update comes, nothing also with official Hisuite. I checked on FF but the first strange thing: almost every build after mine are already approved 9.1.341 / 345 / 346 / 351 / 361. Every builds says "approved" except for: 9.1.0.311 . This is the one immediately after mine (I repeat 8.1.0.163) and it's the basically the only one "not approved".
So I thought "maybe if I force the .311 update I'll get all the other builds by OTA" and then tried with the DLOAD method (that I already used in past) with THIS FIRMWARE. Nothing to do, it start but get "Software instal failed. Incompatibility with current version" that is very strange because firmware is correct.
Since I didn't found any other rom newer flashable with Dload method I opted for Plan B and tried with the modded Hisuite app. Tried firstly with .311 build, it start the dowload and all, put in the phone but when boot in recovery it's lock at 5% and then after a while said "update error" and reboot without installing it.
For the last things I tried still with modded Hisuite but with different builds (345, 351 and 361) but for none of these the download start (both full package and ota). Hisuite found the updates but when I press download it says "no connection" and also it didn't show the changelog (like it did with the .311). Tried Also few build newer than mine that are EMUI 9.0 and not 9.1 thought maybe I've to pass before from the 9.0 to get the 9.1 but same (no changelog + connection error)
In the end what did you suggest except "wait for OTA"? Is there somewhere newer builds (like .345) flashable with Dload method? Or a "fix" for Hisuite builds with the "no connection error" and with no changelog?

Yup otherwise mine modded Hi Suite would not have seen the build .311 and all the other builds I've tried. 99% sure about the hostfile need to re check better

I told you that cause when I register the ip of my connection, sometimes I use VPN services, and I got error about connection, but when I am in the right ip everything worked, also try some different 311 firmwares from FF, cause I had the experience that when I had one approved but its not for my device I got error in installing it, it stops always in 5%, but if I register another 311 firmware from the list, until I find what works, it can be installed, this is the point now with the firmwares from FF, I recommend to you to install Android 9 before 9.1

You talk about phone or PC when you wrote about the VPN? Also another question: did you see the changelog when you choose a firmware?
I also thought about 9.0 but I don't think there are build based on 9.0. newer than mine. I'm scared of flashing build based on older security patch, highly risk of bootloop

I said About PC, what I do normally is with the FF app in the phone, I register the firmware I want to update, if it's available, after register in the phone app I go to the pc and connect the phone, and through hisuite modded appears the new update, it's very strange that your phone don't get new updates through Ota, maybe you can speak through hicare with the support about it, sometimes I went back to older firmwares for example if I didn't like the performance I went back and everything works normally

Had to try the procedure via phone hotspot. If it not work then will try to contact the Hicare assistance as said by Luis

Still have to try the hotspot procedure but I've talk with hicare support: nothing to do, since July 2019 they can't no more force Ota update the only way they said to me was to re-send in repairing center. And also they said if I'm stuck on July patch with Android 8 probably I'll never get new update, even if I wait months and months. What a mess...

You can install android 9 through hisuite modded, not the last update for example try 328 firmware, and after that search for new update through EMUI and download 345 firmware that is the last at the moment, and you will have an official Ota firmware, this is what I did the other day after tried 361 firmware and didn't like how works

Ok I'll try thanks buddy. And for your modded Hisuite too you can't read the Changelog while you find for update? Sorry for loosing time just want to figure out if I've all setted correctly.

What I do is register it in the FF app, in the app you can see the change log, register the firmware with the ip of your internet and with hisuite modded everything is easy

then Phone automatically updates from OTA 8.1.0.157 to 9.1 xxx
