So four days ago, I got an update notification. Went ahead and did it, security patch didn't change from July, but I noticed volume got higher and I no longer lose my ringtone volume when I receive calls. Awesome! Thank TMo. Yesterday ANOTHER update. This one did change the security patch to August 1st. This one came in at 183mb. Don't remember what previous one was. However now the battery drains so quick! I'm talking 1% every 3 minutes when I'm using it. Anyone else or is it just me?

Is anyone having issues with 7.1.1?
Notifications aren't showing in the pulldown, status bar or on the lock screen.
The home button and recent apps button aren't functioning correctly. I can press them and I get the feedback like it registers it but nothing happens.
My signal status has a X over top where the LTE/3G text usually is...but data works perfectly fine.
I've re-flashed the image and radios a couple times and it's still the same. I haven't tried to re-download the image or a factory reset just yet, that is the plan for this weekend.
Speaker phone is causing echoing for person I'm talking to big time
Speakerphone issues are due to a Google-imposed bug. Google is aware of the problem and likely will have a patch ready to go for February.

If they have a patch for it they should bring it out now and not let us wait until February, that means we got to live with it another 4 weeks
Where did I say they had the patch ready? All I said is that they were aware of the problem. Unfortunately, you're just going to have to wait because writing a patch, even a small one, takes time. You have to find the problematic code first, which takes time. Then you actually have to write the patch, which also takes time. Once written, the patch has to be tested, which takes even more time. Only after all this time is spent will devices see the update. Therefore, you likely will have to wait until the February update if on stock.
Hello!
Today I recieved my 3rd Pie update with march security, but after checking build number something looks odd.
My first update was CSA2 with One UI-Pie added, second was CSB2 with security updated to february, all normal, but today I recieved CSBA with march update. After Checking some online pages, others are getting CSC1. I also never got CSB3 update, but I figured they will add those improvements with march update. However, even with today update, I still dont have option to set schedule for night mode (I can only turn it on or off). Others recieved this in february update, but I still dont have it even in march one.
So if someone could explain, is this normal update, or is my phone messing something up?

essentially, just security fixes this time
I received my Preview 9 yesterday (from B&H) and I'm starting to find my way around it. I've seen the articles mentioning the first update for it, aging face recognition, but how do I get the update?
My security settings don't have a face recognition option, and under the phone version it shows I'm running Android 9 security patch Jan 1. If I check for updates, it tells me my system is up to date ...
Same here.
Have you gotten the update yet? I didn't get an alert about the update for a day or two after I got it, though due to my own stupidity checking for updates WASN'T the first thing I did. Oops. But mine eventually updated to the Feb 1 update.
It took a few days for the update to show up on my phone. Purchased in the US but using the phone in Canada. I checked for updates repeatedly and after about 48 hours with the phone, the update appeared.
Thats normal it does take some time for OTA update and that depend in the country and ur location
mine came with the update pre installed. But no sight of the march security update, I thought that timely security updates was part of the Android One experience
20-03
No update as of this moment. but my xz3 received it also the note 9 received it. Not impressed by Android one so far. But perhaps it will get better
Mine updated as soon as i powered it on, but it was not March, only Feb update. I got it from Amazon. Did you try updating it with or without the sim card?
Was shocked to see the notification this morning, jumped in with the update before leaving for work and seems fine so far. Navigation Bar customization lost for now, Nav Star under Good Lock says they're working on an update so hopefully that takes care of things. Haven't had much time to explore yet but initially phone is much snappier, even after considering it restarts automatically once a week.

What version software were you on before?
Good question, don't really see an update Log. Last update was November so I assume it was SJ1. Updates have been running around 45 to 60 days on this phone.
I will say, and unfortunately not sure this option was around on Pie, but looked up Android 10 tips and enabled Adaptive Power Saving under Device Care / Battery / Power Mode and at least for the first day it seems battery draw has improved. Time will tell.

Were you on a US or EU firmware?
Should be on US Firmware. Not sure what you mean by update ZIP, but see attached.

You're using an N960U1 or an N960U but it has Unlocked US firmware on it, which just makes it an N960U1. Did you register for the beta on the Samsung Members app? Or can you tell us what your previous firmware was before you got Android 10?

I see in all these post about the beta, you seem to never get a straight answer for that :fingers-crossed: maybe someone will actually respond instead of just asking questions

Yeah it's kind of.....odd.??* I don't even want the beta. I just want to know what the banking schemes are for the firmware itself. It'll give us a hint IF Samsung is leaving towards a bootloader update. Which will help tell us they fixed something nasty from the current bootloader. ?
I think I did register for the Beta so that makes sense, went to the Members Center looking for something else and tapped the icon for it, never got confirmation of anything though. The upgrade notification didn't state it was Beta either. Based on dates per Samsung Phone was probably on SJ1 Pie prior to this. I assumed this was the December 1 patch when it first popped up.
Notification popped up today when opening Settings that this is the Beta, a fact not communicated by Samsung during the update. Went into Settings upon noticing the Phone which was good all weekend today at work without using it started getting hot and draining the battery. Shut it down wiped partition cache a during startup then went into Battery / App Usage and found Camera, which had not been open since last night had used 62.7% of Battery over the past 6:43 hours. Toggled on 'Put App to sleep when not in use' for Camera App and will keep an eye on this along with everything else. All other App Usage seems to be normal. Charging phone now and it has cooled down.
Realize this was the Google Camera acting up that was installed from a link on this forum and mapped to activate by double tapping the Bixby button through BxActions (Samsung Camera activates by double tapping Power Button). Explains why it was acting up after the update. I like the G-Cam night mode and have been comparing the results to the S-Cam night mode including a few shots of Christmas decorations last night.
Updated this Thread Title to reflect what this upgrade actually is. Very happy with this upgrade so far, even though it wasn't labeled as the Beta version in the notification when it first popped up. Only real glitch I've noticed besides the G-Cam battery drain episode which is no fault of Samsung being a sideloaded App, is the settings security page. Phone is setup to require security log on when Settings is opened, currently the security pattern screen flashes then goes to Settings menu without requiring login fingerprint or pattern. Lost Navigation Bar customization I assume will be recovered when NavStar is updated, there is a notification in LockStar that let's you know they're working on an update.
Received another Beta update today.
Another Beta is pending, brings Security Patch up to January 1st, will install tonight.
I have an SM-N960U on AT&T that came with Oreo. I have instituted network-wide blocking of the update servers but when I leave my house (and forget to turn on my VPN), the phone is fair game and it downloads the update over the air. If I leave the phone alone for any length of time, regardless of battery level it will update. I have asked AT&T multiple times to flag my line as non-update or set it as BYOD because I think that "might" stop the updates (not their phone, why would they update it?) but nothing works. I have disabled auto-updates in Developer mode and that does nothing either.
The phone has updated about 4 times now and every time I downgrade back to Oreo which is starting to get annoying (hey at least it encourages backups of the data on the phone when I copy all my documents off). I am wondering if anyone knows any way to block the updates from being downloaded to the phone. Maybe a way to modify the hosts file in the phone? Who knows, I am grasping at straws at this point.
Thanks
Install Package Disabler and disable updates. My question is where did you get a Note 9 still on Oreo? I would like to find one.

Downloaded it, hopefully it works thank you so much! Also, I have had this phone since the Note 9 came out and every time it tried to update to Pie I would downgrade again. I have read though if it updates to 10, you can no longer go back to 8.
I misunderstood, thought you just got it. And yes once your bootloader upgrades you are stuck

I opted to stay on Pie because I am very happy with my device's performance on it. I'm on T-mobile and when the alert came for the upgrade to A10 I froze it in the queue, thus preventing the download.
I disabled both of those (and a host of other things) and the update icon not only disappeared from the status bar, its gone from the options too so I would say its working. Thank you again for the tip!
I chose to stay on Oreo because I don't like One UI. It changed too much for me and when I got the update the phone was almost two years old. I didn't feel that a phone this old (I say that because new phones seem to get released every 6-12 months) should have such a massive UI upgrade. JM2C.

Still on Oreo as well.
