Yes. It will ask to pair with it at first boot. Press the home button 10 secs or more for pair the remote.
WOW, Thanks!
I don't have enough free time this week but will give it a test when I can.
Wow everything works with gapps tv stock, etc, needs added amazon game controller
I've tested this build a couple hours ago with gapps tv stock installed within twrp along with xposed and I got to say it works 100% with no lag or anything! I tested the Amazon Game Controller and it won't come up on bluetooth. Otherwise, everything in this tested build works as expected, most of the settings works unless you don't have gapps installed then it won't work properly. Thank you for releasing this and I'll get back to you in the future as time goes on!!!
The Leanback launcher setting works but some part of the setting wont open.
Hotstar dont play video in full screen.
Amazon prime android tv version dont work. App opens and works but will not play any video. Haven't tested the mobile version yet.
Will test more and give updates
And thanks to everyone for this awesome rom. Atlast i can use my fire stick.
Very awesome! Thank you so much for putting me out of my misery of trying to de-bloat the latest FireOS image and rid myself of the Amazon junk. In my setup I removed Leanback and set Kodi to start on boot. Tried several different configurations to get deinterlacing and 1080p/i playback to work, but running into choppiness issues. There's other mods I'm hoping to do like getting Xposed Edge working, but this this a great start. After that, I'd like to get the default remote configuration app working so I can modify the remote's functions, but that's down the road.
Again, thank you an everyone before you getting this to work!

Do u mean to change the 900000 to 0. like this
adb shell

Some bugs in new build.
1. Some parts of status bar still show in all apps. Have a look at the images.
Zoom the images where i have marked to get good view
2. Privacy Guard pop up keeps popping
Can test this?
adb shell settings put global policy_control immersive.status=*

Privacy guard issue is very known in LOS 12.1 based ROMS (In lineage12.1 for austin/ford happens the same).
@ggow I remember that you commited something that fixed that. Do you remember that commit:

This is for discussion of the official nightly builds of CyanogenMod 12.1.
You must have an unlocked bootloader to flash this rom. Please see https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images for information on unlocking your bootloader and restoring back to factory firmware.
You must have a custom recovery in order to install this rom. Please see this thread for more information. cm-recovery-nexus-player-fugu
You can either put this on your nexus player internal storage or use adb sideload to install.
This is a hybrid rom. Once you finish setup you will see a popup to choose your launcher. Choose "Home" if you want the default leanback ui, or choose Trebuchet if you want the full android launcher and settings.
Note:
The Nexus Remote if fully supported. If you use the LeanBack gapps it will go through the pairing tutorial automatically at first boot. If you choose to not use gapps or use other gapps, just press the bottom button to initiate pairing.

If you use the full Android gapps you will need an OTG mouse to complete setup and for navigating some apps.
I have included Google+, Gmail, YouTube, Hangouts, and Search as they don't show up in the market currently.
Modified the updater script to enable the navigation bar and set the default density to 240. Patch is still pending to enable the status bar, so currently there is no status bar even with full gapps.

Yes sir, if you use the leanback gapps it will go through the pairing tutorial automatically, if you don't use gapps or you try other full gapps (make sure they don't have maps), then just push the bottom button to initiate pairing.
It runs good, fast and smooth. As you mentioned mic is not working. Another issue so far, when you uninstall an apps it doesn't remove/uninstall. Thanks for your great work. Nice to see someone is working on nexusplayer.

I noticed the uninstall failure last night too. I'll try to logact and see what's wrong.
EDIT: Uploading a new gapps package had to remove the CanvasPackageInstaller.apk and just let the regular PackageInstaller take care of it
Hello, thanks for building this and the recovery. I dirty flashed this over stock and it's working good , it seems snappier than stock . Live TV through kodi plays better now , it wasn't very watchable before, even the HDhomerun view app plays the video better .. Thanks..
Hello, your cm20150420 build will not install , I get , signature verification failed . so I reflashed your build from 0419 and new gapps to fix the apps not uninstalling problem. Thanks..
I got that as well figured it was my fault... Is there a link to the older build?
Hey @dhacker29 !
I'd like to thank you for this, and at the same time ask if we had access to LeanBack App source, or if you are adding them in post-build?
Also, would you at all be interested in taking a look at creating something similar to this for the ADT-1? (The developer box that Google sent out after IO in 2014). We have ADT-1 kernel source, & a repacked CWM Recovery, but no device tree, which makes Custom ROMs fairly hard to do.

Unfortunately Google shipped the leanback launcher as a prebuilt in the proprietary blobs package so no source to modify there. Without having the adt-1 it would be hard to build a device tree. What are the specs? Processor graphics chip etc

That sucks.
Spec list here: http://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/2jlz3z/the_developer_adt1_vs_the_nexus_player_vs_amazon/
Note: they say that some have the Tegra K1, but I've had a few, and friends have a few, and I have only seen Tegra 4's.
I had previously heard of extracting a device tree from a boot IMG I don't know if that still applies, I'll try to find a link.
Its pretty awesome actually compared to the NP. If you want one, jut Google it, and fill out the ADT request form. When they ask what you will do with it, just fill I'm something like "security research/app developement", and with your history, you are bound to get one. I have links to self made CWM images, but I doubt they'd help you much. I can also provide system dumps, etc. Just let me know if your interested.

Im using xda app and I don't see the screenshot tab.
So far I installed and used the full gapps package. I found no status bar or navigation bar, and the cursor has a black box at times. Runs good though, remote to, except for voice. Using trebuchet to play with it. Are you planning on adding status bar and navigation in or do you advise using the leanback launcher? I liked using my mouse to navigate while i was on lollirock, but can't because of this and can't go backwards from most screens.

The statusbar should be present if you used the full android gapps. Also, if you want soft keys, add this to your build.prop
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
Then reboot.

this rom no longer uses ezio optimizations
09 Dec 2015:
This rom uses ezio optimizations, which causes Xposed not to work.
if you want a rom with Xposed, this rom is not for you.
If you don use Xposed, this is a very good rom.

First let me say thanks for this ROM! I have found that I am having same issue with video on it as I had with the CM 12.1 ROM, using VLC to play videos I have to disable hardware acceleration to play any MP4 format videos and for MKV format files I have to turn it back on.
Beyond that seems quite fast and working well.

This is one of the only reasons I haven't installed one of these custom roms yet.
Just wanted to ask if it was theoretically possible for slim6 to run on the Amazon Fire?
I think that Doze will probably make this tablet into something that lasts longer than 2hrs SoT
OMG im so glad devs are starting and i can wait to test I LOVE ALL THE DEVS ON XDA THANKS and THANKS TO YOU GUYS FOR THE HARD WORK
I installed using supplied instructions and have a bug to report:
When the screen turns off it flashes the screen in the orientation 90 degrees from it's current orientation. So if it is in landscape and I press the power button, it flashes portrait and then screen off. If it is in portrait, it flashes landscape and then screen off. Totally superficial as far as I can tell, but wanted to let you know. Will continue to test.

I have the same issue on Slim, as well as CM with this device.
Guys, any luck with XPosed ?
I got bootloop after installing xposed-v78-sdk22-arm.zip, which was working on original and CM roms.
Also, I don't get random shutdowns on this rom (which made me crazy on CM)
Thanks for the effort! This is awesome.
Ordering mine tonight!!!! Can't wait til I get it.
Is Bluetooth a matter of time? Or is there a fundamental problem?

If anyone is looking to get the Fire in the US, ordering it from Best Buy online for in store pickup is the best way to go. I ordered it this morning and it is already in store whereas amazon has it backordered until December 17th+
ROM installed fine but whenever I try to open Google Play, I get ''Unfortunately, Google Play services has stopped working''.
Anyone know of a working solution?
Cheers
EDIT: I flashed a different version of Gapps and that sorted my issues out. (Slim_mini_gapps.BETA.5.1.build.0.x-20151121)
Thanks for the ROM!

Hey Guys! This is PureNexus for the ADT-1 (molly). Hope you enjoy!
Bugs:
Code:
*Nexus Remote doesn't pair, henceforth, no Remote Mic yet (this may not even be possible)
*Rear Button doesn't work in Recovery
*LED Control only possible via Kernel Settings, see LED section below
*A few Play Store apps are missing, probably a missing identifier, should be solved soon
*On device mute doesn't function, remains at the lowest volume, muting the TV itself works fine
LED Color Control Instructions
We are working on a GUI App to do this. For now, the default color is Cyan, though the color is controlable via Kernel Settings, these can be manually set using form a root prompt:
Code:
echo [I]value[/I] > /sys/devices/platform/molly-led/[I]color[/I]
You will first need to echo 0 to the "pulsing" color to enable customization.
Where /value/ can = 0-255, and color can be "red", "blue", or "green". You can mix and match different values of different colors to get a variety of secondary colors, i.e. 255 > red, 255 > blue = purple, while 255 > red, and 150 > blue = hot pink.
We have also set up a "pulsing" color, which will accept any value from 0 (off) and 1 (on), will give the same LED pulse found on stock, and run through the range of supported colors.
To disable the LED, echo 0 to all the colors.
A script I set up that goes through all the colors can be found here: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24269982087018750

Well, LED Control is still in the works. I have a bit more to do on it, but it's almost ready. Other than that, I am not aware of any major deal-breaking issues.

Sweetness. Over on G+ it was mentioned that Cast wasn't fully working - does that mean it doesn't work at all, or that it only works for a restricted set of apps like the ADT-1 does on stock?

I'm not entirely sure. I haven't installed PureNexus on my ADT-1. I'm more focused on CM13.

Its broken. Unfortunately that's the hand-off with Marshmallow for now ): We are working on it though!
Check the bugs list in the 2nd post.
I definitely need to flash this later on! I was one of the lucky winners to receive an ADT-1 last July, and I've been using it for development and as a consumer box (it works well with most Android TV games and emulators).
I have to admit you guys have done a great job with this ROM. Everything seems to run smoothly. Thank you so much for helping resurrect the ADT-1.
Just a FYI - the Kodi ZIP does not seem to install via TWRP at least on my ADT-1. It's not a huge deal since you can just move the two files to the proper directory in the /sdcard.
I flashed TWRP easily enough, but it doesn't seem to recognize any of my USB keyboards. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thank you for keeping the ADT-1 moving forward. I have mine on 5.0.2 and everything I have on it works great. I want to upgrade but I'm wondering if it is fair to say that the apps that don't work with the Nexus Player on 6.0.1 won't work on this either. Or is this a whole different beast? Just don't want to set it all up and not have my Xfinity app work. I will try it after Xmas if no one answers by then. Thanks again.

Yeah. If it doesn't work on the NP on 6.0.1, most likely won't work here.

Great work! I've been waiting for someone to create a ROM for this device. I put my ADT-1 away when it lost official Google support and got a Nexus Player which I love. I'll definitely be flashing this during the winter break for my bedroom. Good to know that the powerful hardware of this device isn't going to waste. Much appreciated!

We got 5z custom rom src that from 5z-dev recently, So I decided to discontinue GSI rom build.
I made this decision because GSI cannot be more perfect than the usual Custom Rom.
Thank all of you for using my GSI rom and I wish I could visit another building.

wide angle/4k recording doesn't support now.
I will try to fix it.
To get face unlock:
1. Download the zip from here : https://www.mediafire.com/file/f464ujbdxab5swm/Face+unlock.zip
2. Extract.
3. Copy 'apps' folder to system>apps
4. Copy 'lib' folder to system>lib
5. Copy 'lib64' folder to system>lib64
6. Set the permissions of all the files to 'rw-r-r'
7. Reboot
I used ES File Explorer, you can use any Root Explorer.
I have extracted the libs and APK from the latest GApps package.
great work man.

First of all, thanks for this. This is working flawless. ROM is clean and has tons of customization options. Couple of things i have to mention after initial use.
1. Struggled account sign into youtube vanced, due to chrome being a system app. Just remove chrome from system app and install android system webview version 70.xxx as workaround.
2. Camera seems a step down from stock, trying to find a better alternative. Please help if you know any.
3. It is not mentioned in description but minimal gapps for device setup are already include in the system image.
4. Saftynet check pass successfully.
Will be using this as daily driver. Thanks again.
Edit: facing an issue with fingerprint, whenever phone enters deep sleep, fingerprint sensor stops working. I can wake up by hitting power button and then its back to normal. Not sure if i have faulty hardware or some cache issue but i am able to replicate it and it was not same on stock.
Please upload review on YouTube and share the link

Asus camera app is already built into this ROM and for me it works same as stock. In my earlier post i was referring to second ( aosp maybe?) camera app which is not as smooth as expected.
If you want me to try any specific version of asus pixelmaster let me know. I will be trying some other gcams as an alternative to aosp cam.
Thanks.

Fix Camera stretch & force close for some camera apps
You can do it editing /vendor/build.prop file using MiXplorer (you’ll need ROOT).
Search for the line “vendor.camera.hal1.packagelist”
After the = are the name of different apps. Delete one of these and put the package name of the app that you want to fix. For example, com.facebook.orca is the Facebook package name.
Per default, the ROM comes with Whatsapp, ZOOM, Snapchat and Instagram added. Maximum 4 Apps are allowed in this line and must be separated by comma ",".
If you don’t understand, open this link to see visual steps.
Fix Camera stuck
Sometimes, the camera can get inaccessible if an app was failed. If it happen, follow this:
Install this app. Open it and tap "Kill camera", then give it ROOT permissions. Done! Camera is working again.
Take in mind that if the camera is broken and you didn't do this, the audio in calls maybe not work.
GCam
This ROM can run GCam. Download a modded version for Exynos HERE. Thanks to Leonardo Estacio for his mod.
Games: this ROM works so good for gaming and can run ARM64 apps/games. If you feel lags, go to Settings > Battery > Battery Saver and performance > Performance Profile and set it to High Performance.
Video Review: if you want to see gaming performance and how this ROM are, you can watch this review video of the ROM in the J7 2016 (the ROM is the same for other Exynos7870 variants):
For close, i want to give a huge thanks to @Astrako - Without him this ROM haven't be possible <3

Can you please give a link to AreskernelV8.0?
The most recent I've found is AresKernel-V7.0-UNIVERSAL7870.zip, and the former AresKernel-V7.0-J530X-TREBLE.zip.
Kind regards
Edit: found. Never mind.
A really fast and beautiful Rom. Unfortunately I had to find out that the SIM card is not recognized no matter what I try. I tried version 6.12 and 6.15 and I couldn't use the SIM card on either of the two Roms. Too bad.
My device is the Galaxy SM-J530F (j5y17lte)
Hello,
very nice work, thanks.
Unfortunatly it is not possible to hear Audio over bluetooth.
Any idea?
Thanks

Hi, thanks for a great rom.
I cant use my ipods, BT does connect , no audio output.
Any fix to this ?
Battery does not charge the right way.
It only goes to 70%.
What kernel is recommended ?
I flashed this ROM but my SIM Card (both) aren't detected. Baseband and IMEI are reported unknown as well. I have restored previously backed Modem and EFS partition but still no luck. How do I fix this? Please help.
Edit: I revert it to stock and my SIM is working again it seems there is issue with the ROM.
Great ROM. until now no problems, since i dont use SIM card in this one anyways.
I tried to install this ROM, but the following error occured:
My devide is J530F
What is wrong?

SIM2 Calling Bug work around (by kamran4malik2) :
You will face the calling issue with SIM2 every time you restart your device so to fix this issue just make a phone call from your SIM1 to any number (even if you don't have balance) then SIM2 calling issue will be fixed until you restart your phone again. ( Repeat the process every time your restart your phone )
I know I'm a little off-topic, but I don't have any more ideas.
If I understood it correctly, I need to install TWRP on my J5 to afterward install OrangeFox.
But if I see it correctly with Android 9 on an J5 there is no freaking button to get oem unlock.
So therefore I can't install twrp or anything else using odin.
