Hello guys!
This phone is actually pretty good since it have all the components that are good (audiojack, NFC, USB C etc), but i'm afraid that this phone won't get many custom roms since it didn't "hype" the market...
Do you guys think that this phone will ever get good custom roms such as Pixel experience and LineAgeOS??
maybe someday. best custom miui at the moment mi room Added support for cc9. A new release will appear on Monday. 9.10.16
https://portal.mi-room.ru/roms/
can we use gsi roms?
I am worried too. It's not exactly a marketing success, though overall it's probably the most balanced phone xiaomi has. They really should have made this what the 9SE is. It really has great specs except maybe the CPU (saved 712 for SE), for the right price. I wish there will be GCam support and pixel experience, to make it as good as it can be.
Mi cc9 is A only or AB device?
Does anyone try Gsi ROMs

It's better than eu ROM? By what?
I think that since Mi 9 Lite just get to the outside-china market, the "hype" will come soon. Here (in Poland) all official mi-stores and reseller are already out of stock and waiting for deliveries, unofficial resellers are importing from other countries on daily basis, so the market demand is pretty high. It is too latest phone to talk about its popularity.

Yes this device is (A) but because it's a system on root, you have to use a/b.

that's good to know. i wonder why it's popular since the last I checked it's significantly more expensive than the chinese market version, making it somewhat less competitive even against mi's own product line. anyway, I can't wait for some european experts to tackle this phone's hardware. GCam for one is so desperately needed, as I am now getting better camera photos using gcam on redmi note 7 than on the cc9's stock. Imagine the possibilities if cc9's potentials are unlocked.

Well, different "GSM Tech" sites shows that Mi 9 Lite is actually a few bucks cheaper than CC9. But for example in Poland, CC9 is not popular at all, even on unofficial sellers. I think that Mi 9 Lite will fill that gap.
About the differences, they are basically the same hardware, except some additional GSM/3G/LTE frequencies used in europe in MI 9 Lite (eg. LTE B20).
Hello people,
I am thinking of buying this phone as currently this is the perfect all round phone for the price. But, I see there is no development for it on XDA can anyone tell why so? Because I always use custom ROMs on my phone as I don't like this skinned versions. This is a big set back for me. Can anyone tell if there ever will be any development for this phone?
Thank you

I have had the phone for a few weeks and it is fantastic. 90hz is great and the fast charging is a life saver. The OS is pretty decent and I'm done with all the bugs of custom ROMs. Could be better but totally good enough.

Sadly the main reason is that released sources are messy and not easily usable for custom rom building.
Luckily all phones released with Android 8+ have a separate vendor partition compatible with treble, a new way of updating the smartphone imposed by Google. This means you would be able to install any rom you want that was build as a generic GSI image.
I got this phone instead of a Xiaomi because the hardware is just so good, and I don't regret my choice. Also the software is not as bad as people say, of course it's not barebone Android but realme os should make it even better.

I've sold my xiaomi mi note 10 and bouht x2 pro 12/256.

Thanks guys. I am confused between this one and Redmi K20 Pro, clearly this has good hardware and few other perks but K20 Pro has great development support.

I was too, but a couple of my friends have it and it broke in no time, I got scared it would be fragile.
I also got this for only 40€ more than the mi9t pro, and I would gladly take the 50W charging and the 90Hz over the popup

Yes, that's true
I was looking at the k20 pro,mi note 10 and this and went for the X2 pro simply because of the value for money,
90 hz
12gb ram
256gb ufs 3.0
50 watt charging,
People say downside is colorOs and yes it is not as good as other OS like Oxygen Is which I came from.
But it is not terrible at all and perfectly good in most areas,
RealmeUI is coming though and it looks impressive giving all things you would want in a feature rich OS from AOD to edge lighting,Im really excited for it.
If ROM support is really that important to you then I guess go with a 7T but for those who are not too pushed the X2 is perfect

Woah woah dude, calm down. I follow Zack and see all of his reviews, I'm a phone fanatic and check out any news in the phone department.
Before this phone I had 2 different Xiaomi phones, I was valuating another one before getting this. I'm not attached to any brand or anything.
I'm just telling what happened to a couple of my friends, if you don't believe me I'll get photos of their phones but I don't see the point. I couldn't care less of what other people buy, the op just asked a question and I shared my experience.

Yeah, it is value for money for sure. These companies are not like Apple that they will give software updates for 3-4 years, they suddenly drop support that's what I am afraid of.
That's why ROM development is very important for me I always want to use the latest Android. 7T is out of budget so I may opt for K20 Pro.

I think people will refrain from unlocking and flashing because it breaks the FOD.
That is what made me go for the k20 because if you are a flashaholic like me, custom development is what matters the most.
I have suffered with my first phone with no development, the Coolpad Note 3. When new it seems nice but as time passes by with no updates. It gets very hard to deal with repeated factory resets, which is the only way left.
So all the rest of my phones that I bought had some of the best development teams...even till date.
Zuk z2
Poco f1
K20 pro/mi9t pro
So if you want to taste custom roms, you have to go the k20 way, but beware the FOD (Fingerprint Scanner) on custom roms on the K20 Pro aren't flawless byt still work with workarounds, including widewine L1 support.
Support is really poor and updates come later.
I like my X2 Pro but it is clear it is not a top range also because of this.
Honestly i think about spend my money for my next phone in Realme phones (except minor phones, maybe mostly supported).

I am referring to relevant updates, if you are happy because of having one update at month without real improvements, you are welcome.
We know about the "promise" of Realme about March update, but the reality is that Realme is slower than other brand, mostly with its top phone.
I don't understand, instead, why people accept everything and prefer to say that his phone is fantastic rather than underline failings, just because has got this phone.

The quality of the updates have been decent. No real bugs with the software for most people, though have seen some people complain about minor things that they experience but I think most of us knew colorOs wasn't going to be perfect,
Another update just released today, this is better than most manufacturers,OnePlus for example only give Bi monthly and their releaselog is pretty pathetic at times mentioning improvements to weather app and unknown bug fixes.
Realme is definitely not slower than other brands,it's one of the quickest in actual fact and I for one don't feel at all like I'm accepting everything just because I own the phone,
I'm happy and looking forward to RealmeUI
No custom ROMs. Stupid Xiaomi please release the source and kernel. We are past 4 months and nothing till now. Oneplus 9 pro on the other hand released 5 days before this phone and I see 10+ custom roms in the forum already. Such a great phone with so much user reach and xiaomi doesnt care about software. Only people from China are getting updates every 3 weeks or so (iam not talking about xiaomi.eu rom). Completely neglected Global rom and India rom.
Issue with this company is: It releases 10+ phones in the same price range with different hardware every 6 months and forgets about software completely. If you cant update the software, release the source and kernel for developers atleast!

How do sales compare to s21u or the one plus 9 pro ?
I think the global variant is overpriced tbh.... especially for a Xiaomi phone
Apple can get away with ridiculous prices and even Samsung to some degree but Xiaomi doesn't ring synonymous with prestige flagship grade experience
They're the cheap and cheerful brand...
My friend bought a Poco f3 yesterday and it's a great phone for it's price

Unbelievable how ignorant (not to say different word) you should be to buy a phone than wait and hope for a custom rom (even though nobody on planet earth promised one).Than you go online and trashtalk the company, the phone and so on,only reason being your own wrong choice.

Not sure why you get personal here.
I always had phones using a clean and functional OS. I knew that the asian customers prefer it more colorful and I expected exactly this. But what Xiaomi delivers with MIUI is a slap for everyone not deepdiving into their software beforehand.
Why is a compass app installed systemwise? Yes you can disable it and even uninstall it via adb. Why can't you hide apps in the drawer? Lets say I dislike their contacts app and want to use another one, I then have to have both on the drawer without the ability to hide theirs (yes, you can hide some non-system apps behind the app-lock). Why does Onehanded Mode not work with gestures? Why do they force you to wait for 7 days before you can unlock the bootloader and why do you need a sim-card in the phone for this and give them your number?
The "cleaner" app does nothing but spying, even worse that such software doesn't even (ever) work on Linux based OS. Not mentioning the "security" app that is another piece of scam software they integrated some system relevant services into while on the other hand, blocking essential android services and thus create a lot of issues non-existant on other devices.
If you ask me, MIUI as a whole is nothing but a scam. Google sniffing apps can at least be disabled, no chance for the Xiaomi ones.

Here's the reality, there really isn't that much demand for custom roms. However, there are two that I know of, Xiaomi.eu and MIUI MIX. ONE OS may also have one, but I am not sure on that though. And even though you do need kernel info, you can't expect them to release the proprietary info regarding the rear screen and other features. So even if a rom could be made, there are many things that the developers would not be able to make work. For example, the Mi 10 Pro went the greater part of a year before one started to see custom roms for it. Custom roms, back in the day, were updated regularly and in some cases nightly. Now the original rom and security update can be several months old and it might also be several months before a new version appears. In my opinion, it's really not worth it nowadays and the most of the devs seem to have found that out too.
As for their marketing, I too feel they release to many phones, but apparently it's working as they have become number one in the world.
Is there any explanation as to why the top model like "Mi 11 Ultra" is downgraded when it comes to MIUI 13 update and other models get first?
"Mi 11 Ultra" is my first Xiaomi mobile and before this I have used Samsung, HTC and Huawei. It was a little different there. They used to give update to their top models first. I have an EU/Global version of the mobile.
I'm not against why other series get updates first, but I do not understand how Xiaomi thinks? I think that those customers Xiaomi has taken so much money from and sold a premium mobile, should also get premium service in the form of good customer service and perioritation with new versions, bug fixes.
I liked the Xiaomi phone but Software is the only thing that sucks. I did not knew what a android "Bug" was until I used MIUI.
I think Xiaomi should rather think about the customer's user experience and service. I miss a good support from Xiaomi. They do not have customer support over the phone in all countries. Workshops do not have parts for telephones. They do not have their own workshops that Apple or Samsung have. They are many shortcomings if I start pointing out...

My thoughts exactly! It was just an experiment on my part to try out any other Android brand after about 11 years of using Samsung (and Sony) smartphones. Partly, because in my country there is no good alternative (android) to Samsung. So much for this experiment! However, the camera (esp. night photography and 60fps 1080p video) on the Mi 11 ultra is excellent! But it can't replace a Samsung flagship as a "dependable" primary smartphone! Now, waiting for my S22 ultra to arrive.

I personally am a big fan of Huawei but due to lack of support for Google. I chose to try Xiaomi and bought a top model that was almost impossible to buy now. Miui for my part seems very immature software. Xiaomi should invest in the software department and rather hire Huawei's unemployed developers. Have you seen that in how short a time Huawei has built a new OS and app store.
Most models received a January update but my "Mi 11 Ultra" is still not on the list and runs "Android security update" from November 2021.
I am running MIUI 13 from 5th Jan 2022, 11U is one of the first mi phone that have miui 13, but in CN market
I know how u feel, but let first think about why. 11U is almost no sale at global market, not like 11 (standard one). So we can tell like 11U is for CN market, so they will bring 1st update to CN market. Other model got alot of sales in global market (like 11) will get update for global market fast like in your picture u posted
AFAIK (but I might be wrong) no public official MIUI 13 with Android 12 versions have been released so far for the MI11x global models.
Only beta versions or versions reserved to the so called "MI Pilot".
I follow you 100% but why you dont try the stable eu rom then?

It's EEA global stable beta fw for mi pilot program
Miui 13/Android 12 was released for EU rom, was it late December or early January, so it have been here for a while, but that's still not the official xiaomi, but the xiaomi eu, which is 2 different things.
Personally i prefer a rock stable phone and im still on the miui 12.5.20 which works 100% good for me, dont need any other stuff.

As I posted before, first it is stable beta for mi pilot user. May be it roll out for everybody now. Sound good for our phone.
Yesterday I received the notification of the available OTA update to official MIUI 13 Android 12 (EEA Rom, Italy)
Not updating yet, waiting for more info about the new MIUI 13...
Hello everyone I have a redmi 10 2022 Xiaomi 22011119UY device since yesterday. The MIUI installed is Global 12.5.16.0 RKUEUXM, I don't see the 13 available yet. What worries me is that if I look for the model with CPU Z or Device info it gives me EOS or eos_eea. I don't want it to be an end of service model but it's brand new and I can't explain it to me. I ask you for help before considering whether to make it. Thank you. Paolo

Xiaomi mess .
But you can try to download the RECOVERY rom and put it at the root of the phone then in the menu indicating the version of the rom the 3 points at the top right: select an update file. (Not 100% guaranteed) .
Hi @Paolomazza,
I'm glad you've posted this, as I had exactly the same question(s) / opinion(s) after I had purchased this phone for my dad as a Christmas present. I personally have the Xiaomi Note 11, and saw this phone being the same just with a MediaTek cpu rather than the SnapDragon, minus a couple of other changes, such as IPS instead of OLED. But thought the camera's, OS, features would all be the same.... However this model is seriously cut down compared to the Note 11. What makes it worse, is the 2022 is even more cut down the one year older version of the Redmi 10 2021....
And then to give it a board/model name os EOS-EEA, they are really taking their customers for fools. Especially when this newer but more cutdown version is actually more expensive than the better older model....
I hope its not EOS, as I only got it a few weeks ago, and disappointed to see no updates for it already... especially when its old hardware so it would appear.... They better make some improvements, or it will be more social media bashing on their official pages !!! ;-) after they severly screwed us over with a faulty firmware for the Note 11...
<Fingers crossed, lets see what happens>
P.S. Did you try the method NOSS8 mentioned, to force Android 12 onto your phone...??

Hi @NOSS8,
Have I seen you in the Redmi Note 11 forums too...?
So I don't know much about the Redmi 10 Prime, but today I discovered the Redmi 10 and Redmi 10 2022 are essentially EXACTLY the same phone, in regards to hardware and parts used... only that the later model is in fact a more rubbish and worse version than the year older model. In that its not fully dedicated dual sim, has less memory and actually has a better brand/model name...
I will now look into the Prime too, but going via that website. It bundles them all together, which implies it is all the same hardware, that merely a name change is all that differs them. Why Xiaomi are taking their customers for fools is beyond me... But technically any official ROM or Custom rom should be swappable/flashable between all models. So if I see a rom for Prime or Selene, it should work on the 2022 model too, and vice versa..
I guess even though it is the same hardware and firmware, I hope the model name changes after the flash and they are not all called Prime or Selene...?? As this will explain why some apps are picking up the 2022 and Selene, when its an EOS < [email protected] name > model...

I am both everywhere and nowhere.
You seem to be confusing the name of the phone and its code name.
Xiaomi Redmi 10 / 10 2022 / 10 Prime (selene) models 21061119AG, 21061119AL, 21061119BI, 21121119SG, 21121119VL, 22011119TI.(Mediatek).
The name may change depending on the initial country where it is sold but they are the same.
There is also an Indian version with Qualcomm soc.
Redmi Note 9S / Note 9 Pro / Note 10 Lite (curtana)
Redmi 10X 4G / Note 9 (merlin)
Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G / Mi 10i / Mi 10T Lite (gauguin)
Redmi Note 10T (lilac)
Redmi Note 11 4G / 10 2022 (selenes)
Redmi 10 / 10 2022 / 10 Prime (selene)
Redmi Note 10 5G / POCO M3 Pro 5G / Note 11SE / Note 10T 5G (camellia)
Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G / POCO X3 GT (chopin) )
Redmi Note 10S / POCO M5S / Note 11 SE (rosemary)
Redmi Note 10 Pro / Pro Max (sweetin)
Redmi Note 10 (mojito)
Redmi Note 10 Pro (sweet)
Hi @NOSS8 ,
LOL, I know just how you feel... ;-) lol....
Oh my gosh, can Xiaomi make it anymore confusing...?? Releasing so many similar models, all with various names sharing the same code name...
Customer: I think I'll buy the Redmi Note 10 5G, no wait I'll have the POCO M3 Pro 5G. Actually, make the Note 11SE on second thoughts, I think I'll go for the Note 10T 5G....
Sales chap: Hurry up and buy one mate, it's essentially the same phone !!!!
So the guts of the same family range, are essentially the same...?
I honestly don't get why they've re-released this model if its exactly the same as the year before, just worse... with an internal code of EOS... Esp paying more, for less... I could see why it was heavily discounted recently, so wished I had the chance to get it when it was £50 cheaper.... lol
Cheers for explaining/clearing up the code names...

Too late, bought it for dad as a Xmas upgrade... ;-) Prior to that, he was still rocking an old Samsung S2 (custom rom) which he's been happy with... But yeah, starting to see the MediaTek route on Xiaomi. I always knew MT devices are never as good, but thought it'd be fine for day... but in my use of setting it up. Never again... lol
I have the SnapDragon variant with the Note 11, it's better.... but must admit the ole MIUI got me at first, but ok now.
Cheers, Lister
