A friend came in with his tablet that will no longer boot, it will just sit at the verizon logo, he says he took it to a repair shop and they could not fix it. Can't enter recovery only download mode, when I press all the buttons to kick it out of download mode sometimes it will boot to a screen with a small robot and yellow letters that say power pressed 7 seconds and "upload". Port numbers in download mode and the weird upload are different. I can only flash eng aboot or pit anything else gives me the "MDM Mode Can't Download" message. I got engineering fw and regular fw none will flash. It does say "Samsung Official" and "FRP Lock Off" in download mode. That's all I got.
Since this seems to be a difficult subject... Does anybody know where the testpoint is?
It sems it is all in the aboot... LOAD:8F682BFC aMdmMode_CanTDo DCB " MDM MODE. CAN'T DOWNLOAD ",0
Any help guys?

Hi,
First time working with a samsung phone, so im not very used to some samsung realted soft.
I'm doing a favor to a friend, he came to this problem where his phone woudnt boot up, He says one day he run out of battery and coudl never turn it on again.
when i turn it on, it gets stucked at boot image (first attached image), if i try to charge the battery image appears but with the loading logo (the loading logo is not moving), he told me that he also tried with another battery and the same appeared.
For what i've read there is a download mode besides recovery mode. I think i have no problem entering download mode (3rd pic), even though i don't know how to use it, pressing a button does nothing, and pluggin it to a pc (drivers installed it) seems the same.
So i wanted to enter recovery mode, and trying o factory reset it, but when i try to enter most of times nothing happens, the others i get weird screen like the one i attached.
I'm not pretty sure how to preceed now. The only thing that appears to be working is the download mode. If that's the case, how can i flahs the stock firmware on it?
Thanks for reading!

You would do the same thing as if it were custom firmware, goto http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/, and download the stock firmware compatible with the device
Enter the device in download mode and flash the stock firmware with Odin
Instructions by SamMobile self:
Extract (unzip) the firmware file
Download Odin v3.09
Extract Odin zip-file
Open Odin v3.09
Reboot phone in Download Mode (press and hold Home + Power + Volume Down buttons)
Connect phone and wait until you get a blue sign in Odin
Add the firmware file to AP / PDA
Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked
Click the start button, sit back and wait a few minute

thanks for the reply, i think i might be doing something wrong, ODIN failed, i attach a screenshot, any idea?
I cannot tell much from the screenshot to be honest, all i can point at would be a newer version of Odin as the instructions told: [LINK TO ODIN 3.09]

Same error as before
im downloading some other firmwares to try, but i dont think there is the problem :s
I've been having this issue for months now. It does that exact thing. Try removing the SIM card and starting the phone as normal and see what happens. If it starts then, we have the exact problem. Mine works perfectly WITHOUT the SIM card but....what's a phone without a SIM card right? I've tried putting the Stock ROM on to no avail as well. I think my thread about this is still somewhere around but I doubt anyone managed to solve the problem either.
If you do work something out post it back. Sorry I couldn't be much help.
E: just posting my thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2778167
I tried flashing the latest firmware with Oden and it failed, when I disconnected the phone and tried to put it back into download mode it comes up with 2 lines of small text in top left of screen then screen goes blank for a few seconeds then comes up with a list of stuff in blue red and green text with a little android in the middle of the screen with Kernal Panic
Upload Mode to the right of the andriod.
I can not turn the note 9 off, or figure out how to get back into recovery mode or download mode now. and the battery was nearly full when this happened , when the screen goes blank again after a few minutes the led flashes, if I press any of the volume keys or the power button the screen comes back on for a few minutes and while the screen is displaying the message the LED doesnt blink, then two minutes or so the screen times out and LED blinks again.
if I hold the btton down to try and go into recovery mode it reboots after about 10 seconds, shows the normal Samsung boot screen then displays the 2 lines of text at the same time which are in pink, then goes to the error screen I mention above
PLEASE HELP
Is going to take forever for this battery to drain and the unit shut off so I can try to boot into recovery or download mode...
HUGE thanks in advance
Hi! I got this problem too!
I was following guideline in this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-9/how-to/guide-change-note-9-csc-easy-guide-t3879473
I was following the procedure, but in very last step while flashing new firmware something happened to ODIN, it failed to flash it. I tried to restart the phone, but it entered KERNEL PANIC UPLOAD MODE. I was trying to get of this, but I was only able to enter recovery mode which didn't work properly either. It was indefinitely looping between installing update screen and other screen with error messages.
If I try to Volume down power for some time, I get POWER RESET OR UNKNOWN UPLOAD MODE.
So, no way out to get into download mode again.
Hi ckhaustralia, did you end up getting some help or an answer about the kernel panic mode issue with uour Note 9 problem you listed above? I have the same exact issue, except the reason why the firmware flash failed in my scenario was due to the charging port which I believe had a faulty sensor because I got a message half way through the flash indicating there "moisture" in the port. Now no matter what I have tried, I cannot boot into download mode to try and fix it. I think the only possible way would be to use something like a ZX3 box but it would be great to hear from someone knowledgeable within XDA?
Hi
I have a Samsung Galaxy A30, SM-A305G.
I updated Magisk by the app, and when restarted it showed me "Error Validating footer", in the download mode, and it wouldn't let me start.
So I download for the firmware, and just flashed the AP file, the problem started when it rebooted and the bootloader warning appeared to me, then it showed me the Samsung logo and it reboots in an infinite loop. I can't enter into the download mode with Vol +, Vol - and connect the USB. I disconnected the battery and trying, but I could not enter the Download mode either. Also, the computer does not recognize the device. Some help?
Try to go into recovery mode by holding power + volume up
There, you can reboot into bootloader.
If you can turn off your phone then press togethet vol up and vol down and while holding it insert the usb cable in the phone and it will shows the download mode.

Did you find a fix?
i have exactly the same problem and the thing is that yiu cant disconnect the battery because it is nun removable one so at this stage the only thing i can do is sit and wait for the battery to die one day because it was at 78% when i started the rroot and this the second day
did you find a fix coz have the exact problem but mine can enter recovery mode from there I cant boot into bootloader or fastboot
i have the same problem. the phone boot on download mode, but autoreboot after some seconds. i doesn't have time to install a stock rom
My problem was the battery. After charge a lot, all thing works fine.
Got this phone with black screen and stuck on logo issue.
When I turn it on it shows the first startup SAMSUNG M31S powered by android logo.
And the problem is that it stays like that the whole time. The letters darken a bit when its close to the final boot up of the system which is normal but it should show SAMSUNG animation not this screen whole time.
The screen stays frozen like that. When I press the power button the screen turns off and it doesn't come back when I press the power button again. I have to force restart it by power + vol down or just turning it off the normal way by touching turn off on the screen but of course the screen is always black until I power it on again from powered off state. When its plugged into the charger(powered off) it shows that its charging just fine.
The touch works. I hear things when I plug it in. I turned on talkback and when I touch a part of the screen it tells me what's happening but the screen is black the whole time.
Download mode works. KG state is Prenormal I have no idea why, its on stock rom. I flashed correct stock didn't help
Recovery also works. I noticed that when I clear cache or wipe data while it does wipe just fine it also shows this message before the wipe "pdp no scenario"
In the recovery logs I noticed this error as well unable to set property ro.boot time.init.mount.cache so that might be a clue.
Can someone help me with this one? Its on android 11. I can't flash combination file because of the error "please get approval to use factory binary(PIT) "and when I give it PIT file it says the same but at the end its (bootloader) instead ( tried patched odin same thing unless there exist a way to bypass that security.
Thanks!
EDIT2:Added one more image(recovery logs error message)
I was able to unlock it even though its black screen. Will OEM unlock allow me to flash factory binary?
EDIT: I checked OEM option and long pressed in download mode. The phone's screen is now frozen on the "this device has unlocked bootloader...." screen. It boots up just fine but it stays like that until I press the lock screen and it doesn't come up again..
EDIT2: I tried combination firmware it didn't want to flash same please get approval message...
EDIT3: I was able to install twrp. What now? I can see some green color does this indicate display damage? I also noticed this greenish tint on the stock recovery too but in download mode and at the first startup logo no green is present. Why would the display work on recovery and download mode and bootloader is unlocked on this device screen but not work past that????

I've uploaded a YouTube video. I replaced logo.jpg from param.bin with my yellow image to test the colors and as you can see it shows some green, same green as in twrp so ye its the display most likely.
EDIT:
After flashing the PrishKernel the screen is stuck but after sleep I can wake up the screen and at the bottom where the navigation buttons are there is some noise type of image the rest of the screen is black. And its responsive if I press power button the bottom part turns on and off.
Brother you solved the problem??
Hi,
I need help to find out if my phone has been rooted please.
I have booted into download mode (connect phone to PC via USB-C, turn off phone, hold Volume-Up and Power, select Reboot to Bootloader.
I was told by Samsung that I should be able to see Current Binary on the screen, but I don't.
It shows the turquoise Download Mode screen (with the big down arrow and Downloading underneath), but at very the top it says:
ODIN MODE (by PARAM Download)
Cause: BL: Recovery Mode Set by key
Pic attached
It doesn't show me a Current Binary option at all. How do I find this or am I doing something wrong?
Thanks (in advance) !!!
