[Help] Downgrade from 9.1.0.311 - Huawei P20 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi,
Did anyone manage to downgrade from 9.1.0.311 to 9.0 or 8?
When I am trying to rollback to 9 in Hisuite it doesn't work (TWRP says No OS installed).
Eventually, I would like to downgrade to 8.1/8.0/
(It's a device with unlocked bootloader, and I would like to keep it unlocked).
Thanks!

I was able to downgrade to 8.1 from 9.0.0.286. was using TWRP and cannot update via OTA. I use a modded version of hi suite and use rollback option. before reboot, flashed the recovery from .195 firmware via fastboot and hold volume up while turn on.. to my surprise it apply the update and send me back to 8.1.
The bootloader still unlocked after this. that's was strange.

Strange problem! Need help! Bricked Huawei P9

Hi everyone!. I purchased my Huawei P9 dual sim (Chinese Version- AL00) 2 weeks ago. I unlocked its bootloader and changed OEM to EVA-AL19C636 and flashed Nougat Beta. Then I reflashed back to EMUI 4.1 (AL19C636B190) but I forgot to flash HUAWEI P9 Rollback Package (EVA-L19, from EMUI5.0+Android7.0 rollback to EMUI4.1+Android 6.0, C900B300). Everything flashed OK, the phone restarted but there is a bootloop at Huawei logo. It cannot be turned off. No recovery,no download mode, cannot force updat, nothing except fastboot. Bootloader is locked again and I cannot unlock it (though I have unlock code). I tried many times but no success. There is always an error:
"FAILED: Remote: Command not allowed"
I can't flash anything using fastboot.
Anybody helps me!. I really need help. Plz!

As I said, I changed it into EVA-AL19C636 then updated to Nougat, not AL00 updated to Nougat.
There is no problems with EMUI 5.0 but I want to have rooted firmware so I returned to EMUI 4.1. But .....I'm facing with my problem
Anyone can help me?

Can u tell me how u changed to EVA-L19? I want this EMUI 5 and it seems the EVA-AL00 is not getting it anytime soon....and I don't want the chinese stuffs....
You have to change the oem.info into Al19 (using SRK tool) then flash Al19 rom.
hi ledinhbac
I experienced the similar issue with you. I rollback to EMUI 4.1 (AL19C636B190) directly from (L19C636B190) by flashing a HUAWEI P9 Rollback Package (EVA-L19, from EMUI5.0+Android7.0 rollback to EMUI4.1+Android 6.0, C900B300) instead of updating to L19C636B361. [ wrong SD card inserted].
My phone restarted but there is a bootloop at Huawei logo. It cannot be turned off. It can only go into fastboot mode. Bootloader is locked and I cannot unlock it (though I havent unlock code). I tried
There is always an error:

Could you solve the above situation?

downgrade?

Hi guys
Someone has succeeded with downgrade from oreo to nougat ? I need go to huawei service, to exchange the display, but problem is "relocked bootloader"
So many tutorials here, which to follow for downgrade and have "locked bootloader" ?
You can use HiSuite or install the downgrade firmware through Firmware Finder. It has the normal Nougat version, but in the description it tells that it downgrades.
HiSuite tells me that I have the latest version so.. I cant downgrade from HiSuite, or if i can tell me how to do it please
@yungshadow
As M1chiel said, try with Firmware Finder.
Remember!! Everything is on your own risk!!
Don't know which version you have, but for me this is the roll back firmware...
Let's try. But.. still 0%
If you use proxy option, you have to set proxy in WiFi settings.
localhost and 8080
Then start download and wait until 4-5%, then disable proxy and continue download.
i'm using DNS. Now 11% XD
ok i'm finally have emui 5. Now i must rebrand ?
That I don't know, I already didn't understand why you wanted to downgrade ??

I need to have bootloader status "locked" not "relocked" so i must rebrand to l09 and back to l29 yeah?
Ok guys
I Found a solution.
1. Downgrade from Oreo via FF using B185 (downgrade firmware) thanks
djg269 said:
2. Download some L09 firmware and install via FF
3. After installing I had bootloop (huawei logo, booting system for 10-15 sec and still restarting)
4. Enter eRecovery VOL-UP + POWER > Wipe data and cache
5. After Wipe phone said it's still L29 but now bootloader is locked not relocked
So i'm done now

I have a small question - in FF it says to make sure my current version is not "unlocked" - does that mean the bootloader or...? I just want to downgrade to B180 so I can install HuShed. I'm on L29C432B360 currently.
I don't remember this information. Could u send here Screenshoot with that dialog from FF ?
Same screenshot as post #4 -> https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76556011&postcount=4
I used b185 from b360 with unlocked bootloader and I had no problems.
You should use b185(rollback firmware) and after this will be able toinstall whatever you want
Alright, last question - I have TWRP installed for 8.0. Will this affect the downgrade somehow? Because for example I can't install OTAs with TWRP. I'm sorry I'm kinda new to these kinds of stuff.
I didn't have installed twrp for 8.0 when i Decided to do downgrade so I think it doesn't matter but you can flash stock recovery for 8.0 if u want ofc.
Now i'm on 8.0.0.365(c432) but with official OTA update

EMUI 9.1 update with bootloader unlocked and Magisk Manager

Hello Everyone,
I'm trying to get the EMUI 9.1 update on my P20 Pro (Canadian Version) and the system download the updates and it reboot, and gets back to the previous state 9.0 and it asks to upgrade again.
I tried upgrade using the HiSuite and also gets the same issue.
Do you guys know if with the bootloader unlocked and Magisk Manager installed on my boot partition affect this upgrade ?
Thank you
No

Can I flash a Stock ROM without unlocking the bootloader?

I have a Huawei P20 Pro, CLT-L09, C432.
I haven't received the Android 9 update, I am stuck on 8.1.
I found a stock rom, just not Android 8.1 but 9.
I don't want to unlock my bootloader. Can I still flash this ROM somehow?
No, and there's nothing that you can do unlock it.
But you can update manually via dload option.
Im using the same model and its working great also gets ota after manually update to emui 9.1
Can you help me with that?

You don't need to unlock your bootloader, you should be able to use firmware finder and hisuite to update, search for it, there are quite a few threads.

Well yes, I should be able. But I am not. I am hungarian, and the Huawei support informed me about the device being Austrian. I bought the phone second-hand, me and the seller neither knowing about it.
And they cannot update it unless I bring it to Austria.
OTA not working since I am 380kilometres away from Austria. HiSuite neither, HiCare neither.

ROMs no, it's a full ota or nothing I'm afraid.
Why won't firmware finder and hisuite work? Ask in their thread.

P30 pro vog-l29(c815) Downgrade To 9.0

Hello everybody,
Can i downgrade my P30 pro vog-l29(c815) form Android 10 To Android 9?? Using OTG dongle (recovery mode) , considering that i have the Firmware.
Thanks in advance for your reply.
Later Edit:
I have successfully managed and figured out how to downgrade using Hisuite for PC.
I was on EMUI 10.0.0.90 (this is the last Ota update I have received, in order to get the (switch to earlier version button) I downgraded my EMUI FROM 10.0.0.90 to EMUI 10.0.0.186 USING dload, after that I enabled hdb and installed Hisuite on my mobile and checked firmware update button through it, and boom now I got two buttons, Update to EMUI 10.0.0.90 Again which I don't want to and switch to an earlier version which I did and successfully downgraded to EMUI 9.1.0.244 (android 9).
I wanted to downgrade since EMUI 10 has a bad performance and random ridiculous freezing issues almost in every app with no reasons, now I'm Enjoying my phone once again XD.
Conclusion: If you are on latest firmware update you won't be able to get the switch to an earlier version button on PC Hisuite, Insteadly you will need to downgrade to any previous EMUI 10 versions before you can downgrade to EMUI 9.
Happy downgrading to you all.
You can downgrade through Hisuite don't need any dongle.Just install Huawei hi suite in pc and you can do it from there 100% official

Hi m8,
You can't downgrade to EMUI 9.1 using dload firmware, you will get yourself a softbricked device. The only way is to use HiSuite PC version. If you can't find the Switch to other version, may i ask you how did you get EMUI 10 on your device? Did you used the firmware from other cust and also used a bypass method, like renaming all zips to update? Or other method?
Later edit: are you sure your cust is C815 and not C185?

Glad you sorted out. That's what i was going to reccomend you when you would confirm me that your cust is C185 or C815 ?. HiSuite is offering the downgrade option but not always from latest, therefore the need to downgrade to a previous version.
Don't forget to disable AUTO updates from Developer Options, otherwise you will be prompted to update to EMUI 10 and guess that it will auto download the firmware and maybe it will install it by itself

I've replied you on my dload firmware thread. Use dload firmware from my OP, downgrade to v190, then connect your device to HiSuite and check for an update. There it will be the option to return to EMUI 9.1.0.260. Be aware that using dload and HiSuite to downgrade will wipe clean your phone's data ?
