I know we have the Indian and EEA version of the ROMs. But does anyone have the global (MI) version of the stock ROM?
Not yet. I was hoping it would come out with the Malaysian release. Malaysia sell started from August 30. I didn't see any version info for that rom yet.
I'm also waiting for the same ROM. does anyone already have the device.
please upload.

On which rom did your device came with? Was the bootloader locked with widevine L1 certification?
If it came locked with China rom, you can't have L1.
If it came locked with Indian rom, you can't have NFC.

Download fastboot file
Unlock bootloader, and flash via MiFlash
And remember check Clean All, not clean all and lock, to keep bootloader unlock!

I have recently purchased my first Xiaomi device (Mi 8) and so far I am impressed. I currently have a locked bootloader but have only got 15 days or so left until it is unlocked. In the mean time I was interested in upgrading my current ROM (China Stable ver 10.0.9.0) to China Developer ROM (ver 8.11.15). From what i have read I was under the impression that changing between a stable and developer/beta rom of the same region (EU, Global or China) was allowed.
I have tried doing it by the local update method which didn't work and then via XiaoMiTool to which I got to the very end of the process and was left with the following screenshot (image below) which states that I need to unlock the bootloader in order to update to China Developer ROM, is this correct? Does anyone know of any way I can install the latest China Developer Rom via another method without unlocking bootloader? Could I sideload it using XiaomiADB?
Any help would be appreciated.

You can update from china stable to china dev. Just download the latest china dev and select it from the phone`s updater. You don`t need unlocked botloader for this. I did it on my mi5 and mi8, but this will format your phone.
Thanks for the reply. I found out that it had to be the latest China Dev Oreo rom which I need to flash via update. I was then able to update to latest Pie.

Hey, I'm having the same issue. Can you point to where you downloaded the latest Oreo Dev ROM? Can't seem to find it.

Thanks, sorted it out now!
To install estable china rom over china dev rom I have first to unlock the bootloader?
So it just came in the mail, K20 Pro 6gb.
I got it from Goldway on Aliexpress advertised as K20 Pro Global. I was half expecting it to arrive and it not be correct model number in settings as these 'Hacked' roms report to have, but it says K20 Pro.
Upon booting I successfully signed up to a Mi account and logged in, everything seems normal. Am I in the clear for flashing? Provided below are screenshots.
Through fastboot I get responses that of a successful unlock. When I open Mi Unlock, log into my account and connect my phone with fastboot I get the screen below. I don't need to unlock it so I guess that doesn't matter?
Thanks in advance.

I guess you phone was unlocked by seller with some special tool.
You can install TWRP and then any rom you like.
Dont touch mi flash and stay away from "cleall all and lock".
Wow, is it an actual global ROM? maybe you shouldn't flash it with anything aotm and play with it a bit. let us know about the experience of a true global ROM.

As I learned recently there is no OFFICIAL Global ROM, the so called Global ROMs being sold are modified Chinese ROMs, the downside is that there ''might be'' malicious software installed in these ROMs as there is no telling what the retailer installed exactly. The true OFFICIAL Global ROMs won't be realeased before September by the looks of it.
No anything global, some fake Global rom not make your phone global with global basebands for LTE!

Well it did say raphaelin. that just confused me for a little bit.. I did figure as much, It's funny how some sellers tout the global ROM for me when I'm looking for CN Rom. I said I wanted an unopened untouched product.
So I've ended up installing TWRP and tried out Xiaomi.eu and Mi Globe roms so far. Upon booting both of these roms its made me verify my phone number associated with my Xiaomi account/phone. Would this mean that my phone is actually linked to MY Xiaomi account and number? TIA

Yes, but you'll get those prompts on MIUI based roms only.

Yes, that makes me really sad.
Does anyone know if its disabled in the software or the chip itself is missing? Because the former can solved by flashing another rom
Do you have the so called global rom? 10.3.3.0? in that version NFC is disabled by software, (i live in portugal) my k20 pro came with that global rom, i installed china version and it came with NFC, i will install xiaomi.eu wich comes with NFC enabled

I don't know, but I would guess the chip is missing. As far as I am aware, the Indian phones are assembled in India, so they probably don't put the chip in. If they were coming from the same assembly line as the Chinese version, then I would have guessed software disabled.

Disabled or not we agree he should try another ROM to see, i think it's just software limited.
It's disabled in Indian ROM, try eu ROM. No problems with Google Pay + Revolut service.
Hello everbody
I bought k20 pro on rakuten in april.
I had the Global beta 9.5.31 with my phone by default.
I unlock the fastboot with miflash unlock tool then i flash the rom of my phone (official rom miui11)
I let the default option "clean all and lock" :crying:
right now my phone does not boot, i have the message "MIUI version can't be installed on this device"
And what's more when I try to flash with fastboot rom i have the message "erase is not allowed in lock state"
I cannot unlock again my phone because my phone does not boot so i cannot activate debugging mode.
If someone had a solution, it would be great.
Thanks in advance for your feedback
People do this way too much. I don't know why people don't take it slower.
You can still get into download mode right? Flash an official rom with miflash.
I have the same problem even with official Redmi K20 Pro/Mi 9T Pro raphael Stable fastboot Global V11.0.1.0.QFKMIXM.
'erase is not allowed in lock state'
How can i flash official rom?

I updated my firmware from a website called Xioami firmware updater and apparently the Indian rom they had for both Sweet and Sweetin was "Sweetin". My device changed from "Sweet" to "Sweetin". How do I fix this? Anyone Kindly help.
The link to the rom I flashed: https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/miui/sweetin/stable/V13.0.7.0.SKFINXM/

Try to flash orange fox newest 12.1_3
Then try to flash via ofox the newest sweet firmware and los20 ROM
If not possible try to flash the sweet fastboot rom via fastboot.
Don't switch off the phone until right fw is installed.
Be carefully, sweetin fw could make sweet hard brick!

Sorry. Looks like both Redmi Note 10 pro and Redmi Note 10 pro Max India Variants are called as "Sweetin". Redmi note 10 pro is called as "Sweet". I was trying to solve a problem that never existed in the first place .
But its not my fault. Blame Xioami for having such a confusing codename scheme.
