Huawei Mate Pro 20 Lite - Huawei Mate 20 Lite Questions & Answers

I currently own SNE-LX1 on Android Pie 9.0 with 9.1.0.229 (C432E4R1P1) Build.
Just wondering if anyone flashed TWRP succesfully onthis version?

It can not be done, because you can't unlock the bootloader on the Mate 20 Lite

I have an option for OEM unlocking though. Haven't tried it since it'll format everything.
Why is the option even there then?

You need an unlock code from Huawei to unlock the bootloader, but since more than a year ago, Huawei doesn't provide unlock codes anymore

Huawei have stopped giving away the bootloader unlock codes, and most of the "3rd party" websites don't actualy provide this - those that promise the code are mostly fake and you should avoid giving them money (unless you like to giveaway money to scammers)
Anyway, even with the unlocked bootloader, you still don't have a TWRP port for the most recent updates of the Mate 20 Lite....

you don't need to lock your BL if you want to receive OTA ! anyway if you lock it you will be not able to unlock it again! my BL is unlocked and OTA update work perfect ! last OTA for L29 is 128 firmware but not 128a !

Do you have a stock recovery or a TWRP? As I've read somewhere on the forum you have to be on the stock recovery to flash OTAs. But let someone confirm this cause I don't have the P20 PRO yet.

Yes, it's pretty simple. I made it because I wanted to transform my P20 pro single sim to dual sim and it worked !
After procedure the new bootloader become re-locked. You can't use anymore the Huawei code to unlock boootloader and you can't root the phone or install twrp.
Until Funky find a system to unlock without code.

I had heard that using any of Funky's procedures relocks the bootloader and the Huawei bootloader unlock code no longer works. But like a lot of people, I purchased my unlock code from a 3rd party. So it would be interesting to see if it survived a Funky method.

Yes there are a few sites offering bootlocker unlock codes. https://ministryofsolutions.com/huaw...-new-firmwares does them for 30€, although they only accept so many paypal payments per day. https://global-unlocking-solutions-...es,_Choose_Model_Below/p5093122_19186756.aspx is €35 but has no limitations on paypal payments. I believe that both are totally legit, according to P20 onwers here.
Funky Huawei is a strange one. If you use one of their options to, say, change your region, model number etc, it will lock your phone again and make your current bootloader password useless. And the bad thing about this is, they don't offer an unlock service. Unless you pay for their unlimited use pass, which costs $132. Then they throw in a free bootloader unlock. I'm not sure if the relock and code breaking is a deliberate act by Funky Huawei but personally speaking, they should be giving a new working code to anyone whose unlock code they've trashed.

Are there currently any ways to unlock the Mate 10 (/Pro)'s bootloader?

After Huawei killed their bootloader unlock website, users have been left unable to unlock their bootloaders. Is there something like dc-unlocker for the Mate 10 (Pro)?

Yes dc-unlocker
As far as I know there's only one for the Lite, it didn't detect my phone
DC-Unlocker not supported the following devices:
WARNING:
Huawei P20 EML-xxx all versions not supported
Huawei P20 Pro CLT-xxx all versions not supported
Huawei Mate 10 ALP-xxx upgraded to Android 8x not supported
Huawei Mate 10 Pro BLA-xxx upgraded to Android 8x not supported
Huawei P10 VTR-xxx upgraded to Android 8x not supported
Huawei P10 plus VKY-xxx upgraded to Android 8x not supported
Huawei Mate 9 MHA-xxx upgraded to Android 8x not supported
DC-unlocker works if you're on BLA-L29C432B142 or lower. They did something in B145 which fixed dc-unlockers unlock code generation and the backdoor they use with DC-Phoenix. And you can't use FH to downgrade either (Not tested on B145 but on B148-SP1).
I'm not sure what builds are on other custs, but this is the Night Shot update on C432.
F*ck, my phone was 142 and I have updated in 145 just out of the Box...

No it is not, at least one user couldn't (I know it's not much, but it's a friend of @Pretoriano80). I think someone in the Funky thread tried too.

I have mate 10 pro running 8.0.0.141(c636) and I just tried dc it didnt work just got unknown error 375 everytime it tried to read it.
Has anyone tried BLA-A09 8.0.0.119(C567) I cant get dc unlocker to even recognize my phone.
Used DC Locker today on BLA-A09 8.0.0.111 fresh out of the box.
I followed these directions:

The one issue I ran into was fastboot oem unlock wouldn't work initially. I went into developers options to find the oem unlocking feature greyed out. To fix this turn off automatic updates in developers options. Then put your sim card in and restart your phone. (I was keepoing the sim card out to prevent updates) I was able turn on the OEM unlocking feature after this.

I got it to work. I just had to change it from modem to phone
Guys, i just bought mate 10 lite and i have bunch of noob questions. Instead of starting new thread i wanted to ask here.
So my phone on RNE-L21C185B142 version. I read the forums and got my bootloader unlock code from dc-unlocker before its too late. So i am able to unlock my bootloader and root my phone right now.
1- Should i unlock my bootloader? I was using cyanogenmod and lineageos on my previous 2 phones. I like customize my phone thats why i install custom roms.
2-If i unlock my bootloader am i still able to get official updates somehow (like flashing from adb or twrp) without relocking bl?
3-If i install custom rom or root can i go back to stock 8.0.0.142 version so i can unlock my bl again?
Thanks in advance

Look at DC Unlocker, but note that this will cost you a few €.
no other way to root the device or get the unlock code? Will emailing them help? I kinda have to root my phone to recover some lost files. I dont have a lot of options. Can someone please help?
Huawei won't send you the unlock code via email, you can try it but there's not a great chance.
Only easy way is DC Phoenix, as @M1chiel already said. It's a tool made and serviced by Huawei, which is just a flaw against their users.
If you got your unlock code and unlock your phone it will do a factory reset, so all user data will be removed.
And there's absolutely no way to avoid this.
But if I'm allowed to ask, what do you want to recover? Everything you can do without root is stored in /data. If you deleted files you can try to recovery the files with apps without root.
But the recovery chances are low because with electronic based memory removed data is mostly totally gone.
You can buy code from Funky Huawei for 55$
Only 4€ with DC Phoenix and works for sure

hi,
I tried but guys from DC support said that maybe some security patches are blocking reading phone.
I tried to get DC Unlocker working but it doesn;t read my bootloader code. The DC Unloacker gave back my money right after they saw print screens from my 10 dual with 361 firmware from my operator. I wanted to debrand it to official but still frustrated not being able to do it.

Depends on your build.
I have successfully unlocked mine in December using an unlocking service I found on eBay from "mnz technologies" but it seems they no longer offer it. I also know of a site called "GSMZambia.com" and they claim that they can do it but the service is also unavailable at the time of posting.
So to answer you question: it is possible but probably not at the moment, you'll just have to be on the lookout.

Nope.
That said, it depends on your build if you can use HCU client to unlock. (Was patched in May 2018).
But there are a few services, all are down at the moment though.

My exact same reasons for moving away a couple months ago to oneplus 6 and I haven't regretted it for one moment.
Huawei pulled the plug on advanced users and as you can see on this forum the support has been killed subsequently where as oneplus has HUGE community support.
My primary phone right now, with xxx-no-limtis-rom, magisk, xposed and after dedicating my time it gives me a full two days of mild usage time. I passed my mate 10 pro to my daughter but she doesn't get more than one day. Pitty, it's a nice phone with good hardware, but having a manufacturer decide for me what I can do with my phone is just outrageous.
Sorry to flog a dead horse, but has there been any progress in getting bootloaders unlocked for Mate 10 Pros? I wanted to root mine ages ago, but stupidly dropped it and broke the screen. It's taken me a while to get around to replacing the screen and now it's good t ogo, but in that time it appears that all means to root it are no longer valid.
It is a BLA-L09 single-im Mate 10 Pro, which is at stock EMUI and Android of 8.0.0, with build 8.0.0.133(C782) and security patch 1st October 2018. Can anyone give me a definite answer as to whether I can root this, and if so, how?

You can, but you will need to disassemble your phone. You will need to use test-point to write board firmware, then use HCU Client while on board firmware to get unlock code. After this you repair imeis and stuff using HCU, else you will have no imeis or network. There's a lot of work for the code xD When you've repaired you need to flash a dload firmware, preferably 8.0 but it needs to be from after May 2018.
If you plan on using EMUI10 you won't need the unlock code as Huawei removed the ability to unlock altogether, even with the code...
It can be tricky getting the back off as it's IP rated. If you replaced screen yourself you probably have opened it already
Let me know if you want to do it, I can assist you on Telegram.
Also please note that a HCU Client/DC Phoenix license is needed, it's $19ish for 3 days of usage. And you will need BLA Board firmware. Dload to 8.0.0.133(C782) can be found for free on androidhost.ru.

Thanks ante0, appreciate the offer. I had a friend change the screen for me (i'm more software than hardware) so will ask them and see. Sounds like a lot of work. Damn Huawei.
Not using the 10 pro, but normal mate 10 with emui 10. I have option in developer options to enable oem unlock which might be bootloader unlock. and I have unlock code saved from emui 8.
1) Is there a point in unlocking bootloader if there is no development on roms? And is there even a way to root it with an unlocked bootloader anyways
2) I didn't want to lose data trying it if there was no benefits to unlocking it
3) I kind of forgot how to unlock it anyways, if someone had old instructions, I'd be open to testing if it works up to the point of actually doing it because I don't want to lose data.

It doesn't matter if it's Mate 10 Pro or Mate 10,on EMUI 10 you won't be able to unlock the bootloader, even if you have the code.
And no, root is not possible without unlocking the bootloader.
Root huawei mate 10 lite
Hello, my phone is huawei mate 10 lite RNE-L21 8.0.0.346(C432).With EMUI and android 8 and security patch 1st November 2019. Can anyone give me a definite answer as to whether I can root this, and if so, how?

Does bootloader CODE stay the same even after a stock update ?

in 2018 I unlocked my bootloader,
yesterday I updated my rom with a Stock version (EMUI5.0.3),
stupid me I didn't wrote down the bootloader CODE from 2018
so I had to pay 4€ to DC unlocker, it worked.
now I want to go EMUI 8
but I need to know if I will be able to unlock the bootloader with the same CODE I got with EMUI 5 ?
(i want to use lineageOS, but apparently I need to upgrade to EMUI 8 first for some reason...)
no,it stays the same, ive flashed maybe 100 times and 100 times ive flashed/updated/rescued my phone and my bootloader code is still the same. But i never had to unlock my bootloader again.

you said you did it 100 time, and the code stayed the same

You can use the same code. I once updated my phone from EMUI5 to EMUI8 and I have also relocked the bootloader with the dload method many times but I have always used the same code to get the bootloader unlocked again.
