I suppose it is safe to expect any custom ROM for A2 to be in pair of the average release date for other treble/xiaomi/android-one phones

Hi is there a way to put Miui or Android Pie on the Xiaomi Mi A2? I'm finding the stock Android pretty dull after using other Xiaomi device's. Also can it be done via the handset as I'm laptop is not working. Many thanks.

Post this in the question section please. This is for rom development only
Well, both of them can be done easily but carefully. MIUI seems to be stable(not so) and Android 9 (GSI's) has some bugs.

well mi11 pro and ultra share the same development.
worst part is that a dev must have the device to build the device tree so everyone can build for the device.
theres a fundraising going on but xda-notdevelopers doesn't allow devs to work unless they profit from it ^^

This is great news, i have personally had enough of MIUI, even xiaomi.eu version. Is there anywhere to stay up to date with this project?

I used it for a week... Almost flawless but there is only one release, there is not an update. MIUI camera is not working, so that's the downside.

Was it abandoned? Camera not working might be a deal breaker if it was. Hoping for Lineage or Pixel experience soon, something like that.

There's custom ROMs coming, hopefully soon.
There's a few factors for why none is out now but main reason is that the device is still pretty new and has official Android 12 coming which would cause a lot of additional work to do if the ROM developer started with Android 11.

If you had looked on the first page of the 11T pro thread, you would have seen Xiaomi Eu and an AOSPA rom Alpha version.

Dear all, a few months back, I saw that there was someone who posted the orangefox recovery for Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, but the post either got deleted because the forum rules were not followed or got revoked, and now lost there somewhere. So does anyone know anything if any test version / unofficial version is available or underway? Also, in general I noticed that Mi 11 Ultra has quite less development in terms of modules and roms. Is there any particular reason for that (I really apreciate and respect all developers, this was just more out of curiosity)? Furthermore, there is also not an unofficial/ official Nethunter support for our devices.Thanks and best wishes, Siddhesh!

Thanks for the prompt reply. Oh yes, of course that is the one I am using at the moment. But Orangefox just has loads of additional features and looks better. That's why I was asking about it. Just felt a bit weird since it has been alread 1.5 years after our devicewas released and we don't have anything yet on O.F.

Hi,im new tbh to the custom roms and i have simple question.I just wanna use phone for snapchat,instagram and etc, and do you think that the project elixir custom rom will help me like with the battery usage or the stock rom will be better?Im for now on the Xiaomi Redmi note 11 stock rom no unlocked bootloader and not rooted.I just wanna like use this rom because i hear good thing about this but idk will the project elixir or stock rom will have smaller battery usage.Or what is best custom rom to just use simple thing on phone and have good battery. (I root and installed crdoird on old xiaomi redmi note 8t and the performce was good but i forgot about battery.........)
