I have the latest official Zui 11 version with root and the bootloader open.
What happens to me is that when I add more than one fingerprint, I can unlock the phone with anything the fingerprint reader touches. For example, if I put my elbow in the fingerprint reader, the phone is unlocked
And with the face unlock basically the same thing happens to me. The mobile is unlocked with any face.
Someone would know how to tell me why this happens to me, if there is any solution, it is my cell phone that has some bad hardware... Thanks
it may have something to do with the bootloader open?

Hi ! Yeah I searched the forum and google about a way to re-lock my N1 but it is impossible for now ... But my cellphone operator wants to change my N1 against an Nexus S for free but when they see the little unlock sign on the bootscreen they say : Un-hack it and we'll change it.... So my question is : Is there a way to hide to unlock sign or I don't know ''brick'' my phone so that he can't boot up ?
Still, as far as i know, you can't relock the bootloader, or give the impression of it being locked.
You can brick the phone by flashing a bad radio (one from another phone perhaps) BUT it will still boot as far as the X screen with the lock.
You may have to do something catastrophic to the hardware to stop it being able to even turn on.
Maybe play on the fact the N1 has a dodgy power button, if you are lucky, you can wear it out, and they won't be able to turn it on.
Thanks a lot I'll check that out !
Hi,
Problem:
My phone isn't rooted. No other ROM installed. Not flashed. Not bricked. Works perfectly, except the touch screen is dead. I have set-up a patern to unlock, which I can't unlock... so I can't use the phone.
Is there a solution to this issue?
I don't want to install another touch screen, just delete the whole phone and not set-up a patern to unlock. I tried to search for
- RSD lite since that's the only thing I can work with and it's easy
- "unbrick" my phone
- a similar topic like this one >http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=845912<
No success...

well you can fix teh touch sreen (buy a new one and replace it - it's easy),
but i don't want to do that, I just want to disable the touch screen (no pattern lock). I actually want to format it, so i need to restart and i wills kip the pattern lock
Anyone with a tutorial?

Sit down and seriously think what you are asking and what your phone does.
If you wipe phone you would need to 'Touch Screen To Start' so that option is out the window.
To get rid of the lock pattern you need to enter the lock pattern first, reason being for security.
New touch screen or nothing, sorry.
I have a similar situation. i am trying to sell it cause i bought another phone but need to factory reset or delete all the info from this one. cant even get pass the unlock pattern. its a motorola cliq. please help
You're right,... Bummer! I'm sitting down and speculating. Seriously, no work-around?
Isn't there a costum ROM without the "touch to start"?
Sent from my MB511 using XDA App
I just recently bought an At&t S6 outright at best buy and immediately went to a small store that fixes phones to get it unlocked. At first i did not know that At&t would unlock it for me for free, as the manager of the best buy sent me directly to this small store. It took them three days but they finally sent me the code and everything eventually settled in and was working perfectly on my t mobile sim card.
But just recently, not even a day after having it officially unlocked my fingerprint sensor began to act up. i would get errors when trying to unlock my phone. First two or three scans, the screen would just dim down to black. Then on around the third time i scanned it i would get a white pop up window with an error.
The message is "An error has occurred with the fingerprint sensor. if this message appears repeatedly, restart your device."
I don't know if this is a common issue on samsungs or if i just got a faulty phone or the unlock code was not legit.
A sim unlock and the fingerprint scanner have nothing to do with each other. I do suggest that you do a full reset. It helped mine.

is it possible that it could be a recurring thing? Should i exchange the phone for a brand new one?

+1 on this idea. Helped mine, too.
I got my Mi Mix from China/HK (not sure which) from NIS-store in November. The phone has been glorious with the exception of the fingerprint reader.
I enter my fingerprint, one finger, whether once or multiple times, the result is the same. Immediately afterwards it reads well, a couple of hours later it's hit and miss. Half a day later it will not read my fingerprint at all. I've flashed every ROM, BL unlocked, installed TWRP, rooted and installed EU ROM. Cleared cache, davik and user data. I used water and a soft cloth to wipe the fingerprint reader and washed my hands until they're raw.
To compare, I recently bought the US version of the Huawei Mate 9. This phone has lots of problems and is going back, but the fingerprint reader is 99% accurate.
1) Anyone else have this issue and how have you addressed? (I contacted the seller who supposedly, by default, offer a one year warrantly. I am dubious.
2) Anyone know of a repair shop, US or China/HK that might be able to repair this?
Any input is appreciated.

Have you been facing this issue since November or have you just noticed this recently?
Before you send it out for repair, have u tried registering multiple fingers other than just your index fingers?
Can you also ask a friend or someone close, to try the fingerprint sensor. This is very unlikely, but I've heard that some fingerprint sensors aren't capable of scanning every type of fingerprint. While some people have very clear pattern\ridges on their fingerprints, it may be faint for others.
This is why I am suggesting that you ask a friend to test the sensor. This way you can make sure that it is the sensor itself which is defective.
I appreciate your response.
This has been ongoing since I received the device. I've never been able to, reliably, use the fingerprint scanner and count on activating my phone without the real possibility of having to use my pin.
The Mate 9 is the only fingerprint reader that has consistently worked. My note (4 or 5?) just wouldn't do the job and my V20 is just flaky (I guess I'm the flaky one, with so many phones).
I'll start out, renewed, with other fingers, then, if nt successful, get my wife to try the fingerprint reader.
Anyone else have additional suggestions, or email of a repair shop?

From what you say, it looks like the pattern of your fingerprint may be faint or hard to read compared to others. Because the other phones you mentioned like the Note 5 and V20 have really good fingerprint sensors. The Note 4 had a slow swipe-type sensor, so that has been a pain for me as well.
And the Mate 9 may have an excellent sensor or maybe its just the material on the surface of the Mate 9's sensor. Some glass sensors tend to attract even the slightest of moisture or sweat. I've noticed that the sensor of the Mix does this.
See if your partner's fingerprints work fine with the device. In that case, you can rule out that its a defective sensor.
And regarding repairs, I haven't seen any actual spares for the Mix due to the limited production of the device. So I doubt you'll find any repair shops that has parts to service the Mix.
Your best bet would be to send it to the seller for warranty.
Just so anyone interested will know, it's my faulty right index finger. After nearly 8 hrs using my left index finger and not a singe missed scan. I don't know what to think, except thanks to satishp for the insight and supportive words.
I had a problem in which my sensor crashed. I thought it was a hardware problem but a factory reset completely fixed the problem for me. If your device has ongoing issues across multiple ROMs, it is most likely a hardware caused issue.

Glad that I could be of help. Its good to know that the sensor isn't defective and you don't have to send it for warranty anymore. It would have been a hassle to ship your phone to China and not knowing when\if the seller would send it back.
Cheers!
The mod for this function did not disable it for me
Hi guys, yeah its an old phone but i have a new issue which is greatly ignored by Huawei.
The fingerprint identification gone from phone.
I tried to restart, open-close oem lock, reinstall phone, factory reset so on. Some of that is done multiple times. Still cannot get it back.
If anyone fixed that issue please enlighten me.
Thanks
John
Hi John, did you change hardware in the phone? On my P30 Pro screen was changed and after that fingerprint sensor is gone and not working anymore. I don't have it in settings options, nowhere in the phone menu, like was never there. I also tried to reset, downgrade firmware and upgrade again i also bought new fingerprint sensor (it's actually camera module, not a sensor) but new one is not working as well. I found some info on net, which is not reliable, of course, but some people say that fingerprint sensor is matched (registered) with the motherboard and if you want to change it you must do it in official Huawei service, they need to pair new hardware, one with other. I didn't do it but would like to have my fingerprint sensor again, so if you found the solution please let me know, thank you.
