Hello,
I've setup my phone 3 days ago and haven't done any particular configuration.
Just added a secondary google account .
I do receive notification and sound notification on my primary google \gmail account ,
On the secondary account i see visual feedback but there are no sounds
I've checked all settings and it is setup to play sound , it also setup to send notification for each email.
Still the phone doesn't like to play any sound receiving email on the secondary google account.
What else I'm missing?
Thanks
Dima
Any update on how to fix it?
I'm still struggling with notifications

Hi,
is there a application that would allow me to specify custom notification sounds according to arriving Gmail message details, such as subject or sender?
I'd like to play specific notification sound when I get some alert/warning email messages from my home server that require immediate attention.
Thanks!
Think I've found a bug with the Gnote.
I have 2 email accounts on my Gnote and have set different notification tones for each of them. I have downloaded the Zedge App and set another notification tone for my text messages......
Now, if I receive an email in my google mail account, I get a notification sound to let me know, followed seconds later by a notification to tell me I have a new text message!!!! I even get the "M" symbol appear in the notification bar at the top of the Gnote screen. Needless to say, I do not have any new text messages when this happens!!
I have tried all sorts to stop this by resetting notifications etc and starting again but I can replicate the problem by cleaning out my google mail account and sending myself another mail. The first new mail into the google mail account triggers the effect. I thought I had stopped the problem by turning off all email notifications but this was a false positive. Later in the evening I got a new text message notification, only to find out it was actually a new email in my google ail account again.
This is driving me bonkers as I am expecting an important text message at the mo.
Am I missing something in the settings, or is this a genuine fault?
Hi all,
I've just upgraded to an N6 from the HTC M7 and having a small issue with gmail and the notifications. I get a notification sound and icon when something comes into the primary tab/label. I do not get any notifications/sounds when something comes into the Social or Promotion tabs. This is how my M7 functions.
I have checked the settings for gmail under both General Settings and the [email protected] which has Notifications and Inbox Sound & Vibrate (Label notifications, sounds, vibrate and notify for every message enabled). I've compared these against that of the M7 and they are like for like.
Right now, the Nexus is completely stock and gmail is v5.0.1 (1642443).
Any help/suggestions as to what I've done wrong would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Eyeloose
Nobody else has experienced this issue?
Just checked gmail again this morning - no notifications but 4 emails in social.
So, I get all my accounts running for a while.
All Whatsapp and email sync as normal for about a few hours.
After that, everything stops coming through the hub.
All the notifications work fine through the android notification pulldown (whatsapp, SMS, gmail app), but they don't come through the HUB.
If I clear data and basically re-install the app, it works again for a brief period before having sync issues.
Is this a software issue with the phone?
Currently running MIUI Global 8.1.2.0
SMS messages and phone call log showing up.
Outgoing EMAIL shows up.
No incoming Whatsapp or email messages getting through. (Even though they show up properly in the notifications pull down through their proper apps respectively)
Is there a way to have a different Messages notification tone than the default notification tone?
Many thanks!
Same question! I can't even change sound notifications from gmail and google allo?
Same for Twitter lol
Having the same .. would like to have different sound notifications in gmail and messages. I seem to be able to do it in WhatsApp, but everywhere else it use system default sound
It is extremely extremely annoying. To solve this, I am using Textra instead of stock messages. You might like it and it has , of course, the option of changing the sound. I wouldnt even consider that a 2018 flagship doesnt have that option...

Click to collapse
You can change the notification sounds in Gmail. I have three email accounts setup in the Gmail app.
Goto:-
- Gmail settings
- General settings
- Manage notifications
- Click the text area that says 'Normal: Allow these notifications to make sounds' (not the button)
- Sound
Thanks, havent found that before
