AA Dialer vs Infotainment Dialer - Android Auto General

Hi everyone, enjoying my AA tremendously, overall it is running very very well with little hiccups. I have run into some issue when it comes to calls. When receiving or making calls the infotainment would sometimes use the car's dialer which would cause the system to freeze, other times it would use the AA dialer which runs perfectly. Is there any way to make AA's dialer run by default every time. Has anyone faced this issue?

[Q] Android auto on m preview

Has anyone downloaded android m preview and got android auto to work? I keep getting Bluetooth pairing error.
Worked on my Nexus 9.
That said, I only tested with my AA Headunit app, and haven't tried with my 4100-NEX yet.
And my app doesn't use the Bluetooth functionality, so BT could be broken.
AA will load on my 2015 Sonata, but Google Play music will not work. I can't speak for the rest of the system because that is all I tried and then just hooked back up the GS6 that works fine.
Tested my Nexus 9 w/ 4100-NEX:
It more or less works, but the Bluetooth pairing doesn't seem to work (and the HU popups make it unusable); it looks like it can't handle a PIN or whatever.
There is a new June 3 release of AA on Play, but it's not on APKMirror yet and those of us outside the US can't get it from Play.
The update allows connection after change USB connection in notification drawer to MTP but the UI has issues.
Used nexus 6 and 4100-nex

AA not showing incoming and outgoing calls

Hello,
Today I installed the SONY XAV-AX100. Super. Everything works quite smoothly. I just have a problem with calling through android car. If someone calls me or call me and I connected via android car, so the call does not appear on the radio display only phone which is useless
Some idea?
My phone is Huawei P10 with Android 7
Hi, did you find a fix? my Mate 9 is doing the same.
Looks like this is a common problem with Huawei phones. I have this problem with my Mate 10 Pro. You need to force close the EMUI dialler before connecting your phone to the head unit
This is indeed a common problem. You need to replace the stock dialer to make it work.
- install this apk
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/googl...61421-nonnexus-android-apk-download/download/
- set as default dialer
This fix works with my Mate 10 Pro

Firstly double check your bluetooth settings for that device and make sure all the sliders related to phone calls and Bluetooth audio are enabled, if that doesn't work - try a variation of making your head unit connect to the device and vice versa.
I have a 2014 passat and the Bluetooth works perfectly when connected, first connection on car start is a bit pissy because my smartwatch initially demands all Bluetooth, manually connecting to the VW Phone in Bluetooth just reconnects both devices and it works fine for calling, music and voice control.
If these tips don't work, It might sadly be a lack of support within the head unit itself (some are very picky)
@stevob21
You don't have AA and don't understand the problem, so why did you respond? It's not BT related issue.
@matata86
I have the same problem. AA has all needed permissions, but calls still not show on the unit. Interesting is that with my previous phone, P9 - it was working as long phone has Android 6.0. After update to 7.0 - it has stopped working. So it has to be related with Huawei's 7.0 phone manager. Someone with root access should try to freeze phone manager and check it...

Yeah apologies, I must have got this mixed with another thread I was looking at when writing this related to BT issues when connecting where phone calls/address books aren't operable though they work fine after manually initiating the connection.
Same problem here. I can make calls with "ok google, call John Smith" but the notification doesn't show in order for me to end the call. I can end the call from the phone but usually rely on the other party to end the call from their phone.
Text messaging has similar behavior. I can send text messages from AA using voice commands but cannot receive them on screen nor are they read back to me. Again, they do show up on the phone.
All notifications are allowed for the phone and messaging apps. I've also set the battery manager to NOT turn off those apps to save power during screen off. I've tried other phone apps, though I didn't think this should matter but why not try
The deck is a JVC KW-V930BW and the phone is a P10 plus. All other Android Auto features seem to function correctly. I read in a forum for some other phone brand that exhibits the same behavior that it is due to some security feature in that phone and cannot be changed. I wonder if that is the case with the P10 plus?
Anyone else run into this or have a fix? Thanks all!
PS: not interested in rooting.
follow-up
From a thread in another forum, this appears to be an android auto/huawei compatibility issue that they're working on. A recent update seems to have fixed an sms issue so now text messages are read back to me. Regarding the phone notifications, I've mounted the phone using a magnetic vent mount close the steering wheel so I can end calls easily from the phone itself. I'm going to call that "good enough"
It seems to working now with B171, at least in my A6 from 2015 with the latest MMI-Update.

All of a sudden mine is working too, though still on B170. The only thing that changed that I can recall is I updated Google Messages and was prompted whether I wanted to make it my default messaging app to which I agreed.

Seat (VW Full link) Android Auto restart issue

I have a Seat Ibiza 2016 with built-in head unit (VW Full Link).
When I am using Android Auto, the infotainment system restarts from time to time.
The frequency of the restarts increase if I am listening music on Spotify or if I am going fast (faster updates on the Google Maps screen).
Usually, the music stutters first and after a while, the infotainment system restarts.
I tried using different phones and cables (Google Pixel with Android N and Samsung Galaxy Edge with Android M), testing with different versions of Android Auto and getting the infotainment system updated, but no avail, the issue still persists.
Do you know a solution for this issue?

Try updating the infotaiment, there are some firmware w w w. club seat leon . net/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=118140&start=600#p1928908 It's a spanish forum
I strongly recommend you do NOT upgrade the Infotainment system.
It is very risky and you might end up not having your car for many months, and pay a bill of over 1,300 euro if you have any issue and need to take the car back to SEAT.
In my particular case, I updated mine recently and I had problems with the ACC/Front Assist. In the end they have had to replace the hardware of the unit 5F (infotainment) because the new firmware was causing issues.
The new firmwares are not "supported" by SEAT and if there are any infotainment system problems they will replace it altogether and you'll have to pay for the hardware, and 10+ hours of labour.

Random Android Auto freeze with A11 system app

I have been getting random freezes with the Android Auto system app (current version, 6.6.612534) running on a Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro (sakura) with an Android 11 custom rom (CherishOS 2.6).
It connects very reliably (unlike previous versions) but there is still some instability in the connection. I had the same problem with earlier version of AA on other roms and on another A11 phone (with similar specs). With the earlier AA apk for the Android 9 stock rom (MIUI12), basic connection was always a big hassle but once connected it seemed more stable.
A freeze usually happens after a period of using Google Maps, with or without an audio app or messaging app. Then I get a random series of freezes. Unplugging the cable briefly reconnects it but it sometimes loses position in the audio app or on Google Maps.
UPDATE / SOLUTION:
I changed the rom tothe PE based OctaviOS 2.7 for sakura (Android 11) and replaced other media players with Fermata Media Player.
I also uninstalled the stand-alone AA apk, relying on the system app exclusively (i.e. with no app in the app drawer).
The Android Auto problem now seems to have been finally resolved! No freezes or glitches in the past 3 days and I can switch between apps on the Suzuki Vitara SLDA headunit without difficulty.
AA is really great when it works reliably. Hope this helps other AA sufferers / enthusiasts!
