LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 10, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review.

Hello everyone!
Before this thread gets plagued with questions like what's different in this LineageOS build, let me clear everything up for you!
Current Development Scenario for Lavender
More buildbots than developers
Device sources do not have a proper commit history, and is little bloated
There are major battery issues with current sources
Elliptic Proximity Sensor doesn't work as it should
Unable to use full potential of sdm660, as it has full CAF support, yet currently we use everything from MIUI
People are taking the only few developers for granted, I have seen the community doesn't want to contribute at all by testing builds, and this is due to the increasing number of buildbots here
People working on private sources, these guys use stuff from all Open Source Developers yet keep their work private, I am strongly against such people, I started my work a month ago, and everything was public on GitHub
What happened here?
I started working on a CAF rebase a month ago, and now finally I have fixed all bugs that occured, CAF rebase is basically cloning trees that CAF releases for sdm660 devices, and doing bringup for lavender, so these trees are built from scratch
Proper Commit history with proper authorship to all my fellow developers
Elliptic Proximity Sensor has thorougly been fixed, you won't face any issues, no need to reboot or anything
Battery issues might have been dealt with, don't expect extreme difference
Sources are public, my fellow lavender developers can freely fork a copy of my trees and carry on development, I do not want any kind of fame or attention by keeping stuff private.
Users can feel the snappy performance as I didn't add a lot of stuff from MIUI, just selective, most of it is still from CAF.
So here you go, feel free to make your own changes, all I want is lavender to stand back up because right now, its really going down due to some retards here in the community. Users need to contribute more, not financially but help developers with testing and some support rather than supporting people who encourage use of private sources.

Just wondering if I shall update ROS with these new trees, since it's CAF-based. What do you think?

Yes sure! You'll have to make changes to make it compatible for your CAF ROS sources, as these trees have just been used to build LOS which is AOSP.
So feel free to use them according to your needs!
Thank you so much for your hard and amazing work.
We're lucky to have such a developer like you for Lavender.

[UNOFFICIAL] CarbonROM for the Z5 Compact [Suzuran]
From the CarbonROM team
"CarbonROM is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled roms, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. We strive to not only provide you with the best rom we can build, but also to give back to the Android community and our fellow developers. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy."
Please feel free to look, build, and use the code at CarbonROM's GitHub... and at CarbonROM Gerrit.
Code:
#include

*/
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read the FAQ, which can be found on the carbonrom website. Carbon FAQ
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Ask a question on the official IRC channel. Connect to #teamcarbon on irc.freenode.net or click here. You'll find several other Carbon fans and usually one or more devs as well. Please be polite.

HUGE Shoutout to @myself5 for all the help in porting this rom!
If you enjoy this rom why not Donate to support future releases
NOTICE:
It has been really fun porting and Lineage and Carbonrom top the Z5C, and it has been amazing to see you guys (The community) try it out for yourselves and make your own builds. Due to my Z5C being broke I have passed it on to a recycling company - meaning I can no longer test or update builds. Please do feel free to link your own builds in the comments (As long as they do not breach the rules of course )
Thanks for the support this year - and I want to thank those who are keeping their own builds up to date!

Just fixing some small things up since the first release (which had some small bugs that stopped it installing)
It is a port based off the Z5 version, fingerprint works but can be buggy at times (don't quote me on this) camera can also be buggy but is usable
More to come as I make sure it is fit for release

There is an audio file causing the rom to no longer boot, am looking into this with myself5 - hopefully be fixed tonight guys!
All fixed
Is this one using the stock kernel and vendor blobs just as with the 7.x.x roms myself5 has done on the z5 thread?
How difficult would it be to integrate them? Apparently it really boosts camera performance and quality as well as calling volume...
Thanks, mate
I can't find any suzuran(z5c)-specific stuff in this rom. Is this due to the issues in the repos?

So, Berni, wanna help?
Once this gets released and is in working order I will be working with myself5 (more like asking him how to do it ) to get the stock blobs into this rom
He and the CarbonROM team are already trying to impliment stock blobs so it shouldn't be too hard

XOS is a new generation Android-based cutting-edge OS based on the Android Open Source Project and Code Aurora Forum releases.
What is XOS?
halogenOS, also known as XOS is a new Android ROM which ships with the global aim to
become a modular ROM which keeps as high as potentially possible operating
performance on your mobile device while still maintaining a sufficient feature
base of nice, small and minimal features that would not be available via any
external feature base, extension, mod or plugin.
We hope you have a truly halogenified experience!
Internals of XOS
At core, the ROM is composed mainly of components from the
Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and Code Aurora Forum (CAF),
with extremely minor set of components from LineageOS (LaOS or LN) which
have been added to source in order to allow for better cross-device compatibility.
Our LOVE to others
A huge thanks goes to those behind the AOSP and CAF, the LineageOS Project and all of its
contributors for the sources used in the development of the base ROM which we
started with inclusive of all the work and dedication their team puts in order to
keep us updated on the awesome contributions that they make.
We will be keen on ensuring that we be up to date with the code from our base sources,
with regular ROM updates hopefully coming from time to time.
Please do not ask for ETA's (else you shall be spooked by Mr Skeltal). Almost all of us are
students, and with the current lifestyles and routines we have, it is not that easy to acquire
time to develop the ROM, though we'll be sure to keep you updated and release OTAs as
soon as they are available and ready for publication. If you want to be really updated quick,
then join us on Telegram: http://telegram.me/halogenos
Visit our website for features such as: Downloads, Information etc.
http://halogenos.org
Although no data should be lost or damaged by the flashing process,
we advise you to follow the following steps if you are coming from another ROM:
Code:
* Please take a full [I]Nandroid[/I] backup!
* Please copy your back up to an external device.
* Backing up your [I]Internal Storage[/I] is also recommended.
* When completed, [I]clean flash[/I] the build!
Although you usually may dirty flash halogenOS over other ROMs, considering the other
ROM is built upon the same Android version, it is not guaranteed.
In case of performance issues or crashes please do a clean flash.
You can dirty flash halogenOS 7 (Nougat) over halogenOS 6 (Marshmallow)
without any problems. Although we cannot promise that it will work for you,
although we don't recommend it, we can tell you that this has been tested.
Overall as a ROM, XOS is very stable. Our mission statement has always been of maintaining a clean and properly maintained ROM.
We take proper priority with ensuring that performance and stability are put first, features are considered an extra topping on the cake.

Installing for the first time
Code:
* Download the current version of XOS for your device.

* Wipe [B]'/system', '/data' & '/cache'[/B].
[I](Optional: For `Dirty Flash`, do not wipe anything)[/I]

* After that again boot into recovery and factory reset.
* Select the appropriate ROM zip and flash the current ROM build.
* Want Google Apps? Obtain and flash the latest GApps from http://opengapps.org/
* Flash any other system modifications you may want e.g. SuperSU/phh's SuperUser.
* Reboot.
Manually updating the ROM
XOS ships with an OTA updater built-in which should automate the downloading and flashing process,
however should your wish be to manually update the ROM, you should be our guest.
Code:
* Download the current version of XOS for your device.
* Reboot into a compatible Android Recovery solution. (Note: We recommend TWRP)
* [b]Please do not[/b] wipe anything, including Cache/Dalvik/ART, the ROM has you covered.
* Select the appropriate ROM zip and flash the current ROM build.
* Reflash any system modifications e.g. SuperSU/phh's SuperUser.
* Reboot.
You do not need to wipe Cache/Dalvik.
You do not need to flash Google Apps again*.
You do not need more than 5 minutes.
* Just make sure that you don't wipe system before flashing.
Screenshots
Currently right now, halogenOS will only include the stock Android theme.
We may one day decide to use a custom theme as soon as that theme is working perfectly fine.

CarbonROM is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.
Please feel free to look, build, and use our code at CarbonROM's GitHub... and at CarbonROM Gerrit.

While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash!
Support:
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Join our Discord server! There, you can connect with other Carbon users and our developers, and you can get quicker responses to your bug reports. The invite link is right below.
We recommend MindTheGApps. OpenGApps should work, but please make sure you clearly mention the gapps you're using when reporting bugs.

But where can I find the list of features of this ROM? Maybe I'm so stupid I coundn't find it anywhere.
And if anyone has tried this ROM, how you feel about it, I mean about battery life, stock cam, substratum working or not?

You should try it out. Keep in mind this is aosp based so there you won't get any lineage goodies in but you'll get a buttery smooth experience out of it.
battery life? It depends how you use it. It should be as good as any other ROM out there.

MoKee Open Source is the biggest non-profit Android Open Source development team in China, with members from all parts of the world. We follow the latest development from Google closely and improve various parts of Android according to the user habits. Being a non-profit organisation, we utilise our spare time and own funds to keep this passion alive. Therefore, the costs for the forum and servers are solely beared by us. In order to provide a good user experience, we only included a few preinstalls in the ROM. Along with the advertisements in the forum; we hardly get enough to pay for the bandwidth. The point is, those are our only source of income, however many developers choose to exclude them when releasing unofficial builds. Unlike CyanogenMod, we did not accept monetary help at the early stages, as in China, most people do not understand the meaning of “making a donation”. They would think of it as buying a service, which is conflicting with our objectives. Anyways, we still made it until today, and even started to provide third party developers a chance to utilise our OTA system. All of these are the fruit of our hard work and passion. We are proud of the happy users, and we are also proud of the support given to MoKee Open Source. Most importantly, we are proud of the improvements we have achieved all these while, and the advancements never stop.

Status: Nightly

Last Updated 2018-05-13
Additional Information:
It is recommended that you have flashed 8.3.29 Global Beta MIUI or newer and have the latest firmware
At this point the ROM does NOT include built in root or Xposed like in previous MoKee releases which is pretty good thing.
Aegis app is still in development for Oreo
This ROM focuses a lot on stability and bug fixes rather than on customization
The base is LineageOS but with their patches and fixes that aren't included in LineageOS which in my opinion makes this ROM a pretty good choice for Oreo ROM on tissot
I am not the maintainer of this ROM, MoKee development team is
If you encounter any bug, please report it here with a proper logs (Logcat, Kernel Log) so I can later track it to MoKee
Release types:
RELEASE: Tested after integrating new features, more stable than NIGHTLY. (Odexed builds)
NIGHTLY: Built daily with newest code and experimental features, might contain undiscovered bugs. (Deodexded builds)
HISTORY: Final odexded builds once a newer Android version is out and being built.
EXPERIMENTAL: Released when a new device is added or when a new feature is added for public beta testing and feedback. (Deodexded builds)
UNOFFICIAL: Maintained separately by individual developers, usually involves modification of shared code which cannot be merged (affects other devices), therefore maintained by the developer himself.
Thread has been properly posted and links and mistakes by MoKee have been fixed.
Enjoy!
Thanks a lot dev

Thanks for porting it bro
The ROM is amazing!
Wow, thanks bro
nice bro give me an awp:好:
i will test it...
How is this rom compared to aosip?
Nice job and thx.
So far so good, but It looks like the Auto Brightness doesn't work well.
Love this rom. Slim, fast, stable and excellent battery life!
Everything works as it should. Auto brightness could be a little more refined and proximity sensor would be nice too. If only we could get updated sources...
Only downside is I have to choose between this and AOSiP.
And OTA updates would be a killer feature for the future.
Great ROMs are coming for this great device.

Hey, awesome rom. Thank you!

The only problem is that the Camera app keeps crashing when i try to open it. Anyone knows a fix for this?

I had that too the first time I installed the rom. Right after opening the app crashed. There were lots of process.media.android errors.
Did a clean install and after the installation I factory resetted. No problems since. Everything is fine. I'm using the latest BSG mod camera for the MI8.
Maybe this helps. I don't even know if the steps I took make any sense or if this affects the problem but it solved it for me.
@palaych: I have compared battery life between this rom and your AOSiP rom and there's a significant difference between the two.
I don't know if the stats are true but could you have a look into it?
First screenshot is Arrow OS, the second one is from AOSiP
I used the kernel that came with the rom, no customisations. All Google apps from the opengapps Pico package, no Magisk or other root.
Best regards
Kleinholzinferno
What are the differences in general ( features ) between the two ROMs ( ArrowsOS and AOSiP )?

I think they're pretty much the same regarding the possibility of customisation. Unlike some other ROMs that are adjustable to the last animation these two ROMs focus on (what I believe) are the most important features.
They're customizable but not bloated with settings. Which I think is nice.
All the features I use are there and working well.
Bluetooth hands free is finally working with Android pie
As my main camera I use the BSG Mod camera. Just Google it. Night mode works, portrait works too.
All other apps I use are Google standard and they're working flawlessly. Even Android Auto is useable.
So depending on your needs I'd say give them. both a try and decide. In my opinion you can't go wrong with any of them as they are both fast, stable, slim and have many nice setting to adapt the look and feel to your needs.
Hope this helps
Best regards
Kleinholzinferno
Thanks for your explanation.
I´m using AOSiP since last weekend and it´s like you described it. :good:
So, I´m curious on ArrowOS and I will give it a try.
The only thing I don´t understand is that @palaych is spending a lot of
time on developing two ( really good, but ) similar-looking ROMs.
Best regards.

Danke, dir auch!
As I said there are some differences but they are not as huge as between some other roms. The settings are a little different, the icons for some quick settings look different but all in all it's pretty equal.
What matter to me most is reliability and stability and both roms deliver!
I like the slim roms better. I had resurrection remix installed which is also a great rom btw but as I didn't use 75% of the settings it's pretty useless for me. Others may play around with animation styles and stuff but I don't so this is my favourite by now.
