[ROM][6.0.1] MIUI 8 Global - Port [SM-J320FN]

To keep this short. THIS ROM IS RETIRED; THERE WILL BE NO UPDATES OR FIXES MADE BY THE DEVS. Community Support and Fixes is ofc. going to continue on this thread. With this, I am also leaving the Samsung Galaxy J3 2016/Samsung Community. I'm getting a Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 for Christmas. It has been a fun experience porting this and being in this community. This will probably happen soon with other ROMs. If you can, try to buy a new device. Hope to see you in the Redmi Note 8 forum!

Mi Account crashes on log in
Panorama Camera crashes on shoot
Settings crashes on heavy use
The quick ball works but cannot be customized..
The sim card doesn't show on status bar but it works (to fix it just tap power button twice)
Rgb sliders from live display. Try a similar app from play store.
FM Radio is not working.
Headphones are not detected.
Every app from the app store is classified as "large" apps."
MI apps are in the Chinese version.
Installation
You need the bootloader unlocked and a custom recovery(TWRP)
Place rom in your external sd card
Reboot to recovery
Wipe Data, Dalvik cache, Cache and System.
Go to mount and unmount system
Flash Rom zip file
Reboot and have fun!

Don't flash Gapps, already included
Don't flash another Kernel, they don't support MIUI
When you come to the MI account setup, press skip and restart your phone.

About the headphone not detected issue. There is a fix but you need to download an app called sound about from the play store then plog your headphones in, open the app and a the media option choose headphones with mic then the sound should come out from the headphones now. I think this will help you until the developers fixes the issue.

Thanks for letting us know (scrolling through thread btw). If we don't fix the HeadPhone issue (Wired) We would include the App but we don't have permissions for it so we have to fix it

Oyeee :silly: wrong date. I mean June

I face random internet disconnection on mobile data .... I'm using Volte .... Wifi working Normal.
I face this issue on lineage os and evolution os
I tried liquid remix no problem in that.
Anyone facing this problem on mobile data ?
I even tried clean flash but same.

No, it is permissive

Rom ambient music tagging does work but only for the song we play via a music player eg:Spotify, play music. Not the song which plays around us . There is no notification of the song after unlocking.... It's only showing in the lockscreen no where else.
The phone is not saving the list of tagged songs also.
But the ROM is superb and I like it very much.... But I am not getting battery backup at all... From 96% to 29% in 2h 28min of usage and at 20% the phone shutdowns it self

Nope... I only used WhatsApp,.insta,phone, and that's almost it.... Don't know why... But I think the battery is at it's limit
But before this ROM I was using pixel experience and that with that ROM my battery used to stay for almost 5 to 6 and a 1/2 hours.
Now I don't know if it's the battery or the ROM... My Usage of apps is 70% similar in both ROMs

I don't have such issue. Are you using Google dialer or stock one? If using the 1st one, please use the included one with the ROM. Can you send a log, also?

Me, a few moments ago, failed to connect. Yesterday it worked with other ROM. I've tried with/without usb debug, data transfer, open the app in the phone and then trying to connect. Android auto doesn't launch by itself when connected to the car, and if you do it manually, fail to connect. All permissions allowed.
Don't know how to save a log, but if it's necessary I can try.

The rom feels very smooth, only a few hours of use, no mayor bugs, except android auto and nfc toggle doesn't work. I'll try google pay later.
It's very soon to know but in 7 hours of sleep last night, only 1% of battery used, idle drain seems to be very good. We will see with several full charges.
Latest magisk 21.0 working here, no need to flash magisk debug.
Latest TWRP can't decrypt data, didn't ask for pattern. I forgot to flash zip to no decrypt data.

Same here, I'll wait until AA is fixed. Also had some freezes while using the ROM, especially while using chrome.

- Updated neuralnetworks stack from cmi
- Updated widevine blobs from coral
- Fix Widevine/DRM issue, now it's L1 (Netflix info)
- Switched to Oct fingerprint

I have experienced chrome freezes too. Almost all chrome launches ends up freezing after minute or two

After flash this rom, SD Card ask to formatted. It says corrupt. I hope the next build will be fixed. Thanks for great rom.

First of flash Magisk CU and then reboot your device. After that reboot to recovery again and flash Magisk v21.1

Yeah, exfat support will be added and link ringtone and notification tone will be added soon.

Black / Night boot animation needed, it hurts my eyes when booting

Hey man good work, I love this rom.
I have an issue with the Netflix app. When I try to go home from the player, my phone restarts. I was also wondering if you can add an option to reduce the duration of notification vibrations. Aldo I'd love to be able to hide the white-navigation-bar-thingy. Thanks again for your work <3 !

oh no im getting "Package is for product instantnoodlep but expected OnePlus8Pro or OnePlus 8" what to do
Do this steps
1. open rom zip (do not extract it)
2. go to META-INF\com\android
3. double click metadata open with notepad
4. for OnePlus 8 Pro users rename pre-device= instantnoodlep to pre-device=OnePlus8Pro
4. for OnePlus8 Users rename pre-device= instantnoodle
to pre-device=OnePlus8
5. ctrl+s will save it then you can close notepad
6. now do the adb sideload as usual

it works on all ROMs just not enabled by default.

Installed over pixelblaster and booted right up without resetting.. excellent work and nice rom!

You flashed it over Pixelblaster with no problems? Just flash and reboot?

Yes.. Couldn't sideload so used the flash all method and rebooted.. only lost root but easily fixed and kept all apps etc .

You guys make my phone life, a hard existence

5 hours using it. Major improvment over existing ones. Oneplus settings working and nothing crashing....
Did not try screen mirroring. Is it working?

Well, there is not yet A12 for OP8pro, so I can not compare. I am a OOS fan but wanted to try A12.
I Tryed already Pixelblaster, Arrow, EvolutionX, and another one, but all of them with something crashing or not working. Since these ROM's have developpers in common, next updates will be better than a Beta OOS still to come. As far as bathery concerns, did not try a full charge yet but, looking good (never had really complaints in all OOS updates).

That's no worries, I use gesture lock from the playstore which has always prevented anyone from using my phone and, in my opinion is more secure than face unlock.
