Any chance the Pixel 4 xl will have the better dual frequency GPS hardware?
Regards
I believe the SD 855 does support it, not sure about Pixel 4, would be cool though if it did.
As pointed out in the recent XDA article and in the Pixel 4 product page, there is a footnote that says "Dual Band (L1+L5) or (E1 +E5a). Support - coming soon". What does that mean? Is it not a hardware that they just say if dual frequency is available or not? Have they not assembled the phone yet? Is it region specific or something?
AP just happened to post about it... https://www.androidpolice.com/2019/10/18/pixel-4-dual-band-gps/

This is the footnote from the spec sheet for both devices.

Is there a way of checking to see if this is already active and will G-Maps need an update to work with it?
In Developer Options, there is an item called "Use Full GNSS RAW Measurements" (disabled for me). I am not sure if this is the same thing and if Google Maps needs to be updated for the gps accuracy.

As some of you might be aware Google's awesome camera software with HDR+ was ported to devices running Snapdragon 820/821/835 devices. Now I know for fact we couldn't port that version to our Moto X. Even if could it would cook our CPUs.
But what about the older version of HDR+ that's on the Nexus 6? Can it be ported? It makes a huuuuugggggggeeeee difference in the quality on photos like night and day. Google's photo processing is leaps and bounds better than any other.
Been wondering this for a while as well. I believe it could be done.

Do you know which Snapdragon 800/801 device has the biggest development scene? Maybe prodding over there would be better, if it works for them it will work for us.
Are you talking about the oneplus one? I loved using the old version of google camera and would even like a 3+ version available to everyone. I wonder why google would limit the app exposure?

Guys those who have installed pie beta on note 8, can u check if new camera processing is give in the beta or not?? Note 9 has very good dynamic range due to the processing(clicks pics at different expoaures and combine them in real time). Anyone can tell if same is given to n8 or not.. Also what about dolby atmos and dual volte????

Not sure what you mean about the camera. What you're describing is HDR, which is present on the Note 8 Oreo camera as well as the Pie camera.
Dolby Atmos is present, but only works over Bluetooth or headphones. The phone speakers are not capable of using Atmos.
I have no idea what dual VoLTE is.
The fundamental difference between simple VoIP and VoLTE is that VoLTE requires a Quality-of-Service or QoS component.*
Basically de difference between VoIP and VoLTE is that VoLTE requires a QoS (Quality of Service) component.
Typically, over-the-top VoIP applications like Skype and Google Voice rely on the Internet to deliver packets. The problem is that Internet delivery is done on a “best effort” basis; all you can do is get your packets to the cloud and cross your fingers. VoLTE, on the other hand, uses the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) and new radio access network features to ensure low latency, improved error correction in fringe areas, and other features that guarantee voice service as good as or better than any we’ve ever experienced.

dual volte is simulataneous volte capability on both the sims(on dual sim phones).
HDR was present before bt is weak compared to note 9/one plus 6 which in the background takes multuple photos at different exposure and combines them in real time. the best way to check if new processing is there or not is
point the camera towards a light source(like a tubelight) and click a photo and see if there is any difference between the live preview(viewfinder) and the actual captured photo.
also is scene optimiser in the camera given?

Dual VoLTE - the leaked Pie builds are only for the US Snapdragon models, so no dual SIM phones
HDR - I just took side by side photos with my Note 9 and my Note 8. Photos look identical. But again, the process you're describing is also how the Note 8 worked on Oreo.
Scene Optimizer - No it isn't present. But you can turn on a "Food" setting for taking pics of food.
AR Emojis are present, but Super Slow Motion is not present. Which is weird, because I thought they added it to the Note 8 on Oreo, but I may be wrong.

Oh side note, DeX now activates with a USB C to HDMI cable. No DeX station needed.

What do you mean by dual GPS?
All GPS uses multiple satelites already to get your position, and Android further gets a more localized position by then pinging you off wifi networks as you pass them. The unclassified GPS bands we are allowed to use are accurate to around a dozen feet, technically we can be no more accurate that this. But with tricks like wifi scanning the phones do get around 4-6ft accuracy.

also, I have the location settings to 'device only', but unfortunately, the gps is not locking. no fix. I am using 'gps status' app to view the status
Can get down to an accuracy of 3m on device only mode when I'm lucky, and 5 meters on average

30cm accuracy might be in laboratory kind of conditions... 3m is defnitely still far enough for real life usage though
EDIT: Also read that the chip can be used not only in smartphones... Phones have small antennas, 30cm might be for car GPS and such who have far bigger antennas and space considering its their only utility
Can anyone infer an answer based on previous Sony phones? I never owned one. It seems the only flaw this has is the refresh rate and lack of IR blaster, which I can stand
It shouldn't be possible, since the gpu of the snapdragon is too slow to handle more than 60hz at 4K
I see that some previous sony can do 120hz at 1080p. Can we expect the same here?
I have read a Japanese review that the screen works at 90hz and that it shows compared to the Xperia 1
Enviado desde mi J9110 mediante Tapatalk
You can get 90hz on your Xperia 1 if you search and write a bit of code, at 4k.

The reviews so far don't agree it's like 90hz and they couldn't tell the difference when toggled off and on so sounds like a gimmick.
Maybe it'll improve when final release software is released but I doubt it.

If the chipset can't support it, it's a dead end.
A while back someone was claiming to have overclocked the Note 10+ to 90hz. It was hogwash because the chipset hardware not the just the firmware doesn't support it.
The answer is in the chipset white papers and even if it does support it, the circuit design may not.
He friends today I am giving you a trick to lock OnePlus 7 pro lte bands to improve internet speed without root ,

Band 40. Low range more speed than band 3
