Do you mean when you receive a phone call, you get a full screen of the dialer app present? Press home button and it will let you continue using your phone.

You're running Global stable. Do you have the default Xiaomi mi Dialer and contacts app? Thats the default one that ships with Global version. I don't know if the google version is different (perhaps someone else can help) but I noticed you're on Miui version 10.3.2.
Perhaps you should update your device. It might solve the issue for you? Go to about>system update>check for updates and install. The latest one should be 10.3.11 for global stable.

Ahh i see, See if you can enable the app otherwise you can use the Xiaomi's official site for downloading and installing. You don't need to unlock your bootloader either.
http://en.miui.com/download-361.html#616
It also has instructions on it, if you need it. Just make sure it's the global version and for the Mi 9T.

I bought the device from Ali Express and it was named as k20 pro with global rom.
I had asked the world rum from the seller and the device was connected to my version 10.3.1 and I got an update yesterday for version 10.3.2
is it a k20 pro or a Mi 9t Pro ?
If it's a chinese variant with global rom flashed. I would suspect you have a custom rom as the official gobal rom is on 10.3.11.
I can't really help any further if it's been flashed on the chinese rom. I don't want you to brick your phone.
Wait for someone with more knowledge than me to help you.
Sorry I couldn't be anymore of a help.

Hi, I have the global mi 9t pro version with the real global rom in EU and the problem is the phone and contacts apps are the Google one's and there's no call recording. Is this something new for Xiaomi, does anyone has the same problem in EU for example and how to possibly fix it. I know I can install the miui call and contacts app, but am looking for a more easy way. Tried changing region, hard reset and no effect...
Another user confirmed that EU rom comes with Google dialer app. Your only option is installing miui app manually then set it as default.
Disappointed to hear that, but thank you for the answer.
Unfortunately, the app crashes when I try to call someone...
The same for me - it came with Google contacts and dialer. Installed the miui app manually - and it crashes.
A solution is to install the global rom, but I don't know if the bootloader can be safely locked after that.

Why do you need to relock it?
Why keep it unlocked? I won't be doing any other flashing and it gives me some kind of security, even being only in my head. I don't do any more modifications and custom ROMs installing anymore, so I want it simple.
yes.. i was pissed to discover EU rom had the stock app... ( other mi 9 have the xiaomi apps)
call recorder is only one of the many feature that the stock dialer does not have..
It would be great I f we could know why Xiami made this move ... and if they plan to re include there custom apps in a future update..
I don't really want to mess around with flashing rom on a new phone ..

Bootloader can't be relocked on roms other than the regional rom it came with locked.
I've heard it's possible to flash global over eu rom without unlocking. At least for mi 9 it worked...

Is there any custom ROM what support call recording?
Bit of a bummer there's no mi apps, but would never expect call recording in the EU ,
In terms of other features ,are they still there in the global version,
Is the security app still there ?
People says that global rom ( that has the MI code ) is the same in the google dialer issue as EEA rom ( EU code )
either to use indian or Xiaomi EU ( customized one ) rom
Could anyone confirm whether the built-in call recorder works 100%
when on a BT headset? Or if 3:rd part recorders do, for that matter.

hi! is the problem with recording calls solved or not?
Unpleasant surprise for me ...
After getting my Mi 9Tpro euro, I discovered that the euro phone does not comes with the following:
Xiaomi Dialer/Contact
Xiaomi Sms
Facemoji Keyboard
But with the stock Google dialer etc .. instead
if Facemoji can easily be installed, from the store, the dialer and sms (althought they can be downloaded from apk repositories ) will crash or not fully work if you side load them from apk..
Vanilla android app might be to some taste , but I'm pissed to be stuck with them as I happen to like Xiomi's
may be I could try to get the global ROM? but really wtf is xiaomi doing with there euro rom... and what reviewer are doing ... seems they are testing everything but the phone part of the phone -_-

Afik, xiaomi.eu doesn't have ota support. Also, I faced mic problem in eu rom. I'm currently using mi globe and it's based on xiaomi.eu but surprisingly doesn't have mic problem.

OTA does not work on EU roms you would need to install the updates manually. It would not cause any data loss. You can read about this on xiaomi.eu

I also bought the Mi 9T Pro (EU version) yesterday. Isn't there a way just to find the Xiaomi stock dialer apk somewhere for this phone??
No. Installing the original miui apks doesn't work, they crash. There are two ways to have them - wait for the global official rom to come out at en.miui.com and try to install it without unlocking bootloader, or if it doesn't work out - unlock, install it and leave it like that. I've posted a theme here for the call recording and it's the same problem, actually...

After some long, tedious and pointless email exchange with OnePlus Support they finally said they were sorry for "miscommunication" and advised to raise this as an idea here: https://forums.oneplus.com/feedback/
I do not agree this is an idea. There is already a builtin call recording app, this just has to be allowed by default for Poland just like for India.
What you can do with a minimum effort to enable it on the phone:
Get SetEdit App from Play Store
Get jOnePlus Tools
Get ADB as shown here https://www.xda-developers.com/install-adb-windows-macos-linux/
Run two ADB Commands:
adb shell pm grant net.jroot3d.joneplustools android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
adb shell pm grant by4a.setedit22 android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
In SetEdit go to Global Table (top right), then find "op_voice_recording_supported_by_mcc", edit the value to 1
Go to jOnePlus Tools, enable call recording
What will you achieve? Now, you can auto record calls in your region through the built-in app.
Will this work after reboot? jOnePlus Tools should keep the recording after the reboot. In case it does not, you can use SetEdit after the reboot to enable the option after the reboot.
Does this need root? No root require.

It might possibly lead to not crash the xiaomi call app, but I think installing the global rom is easier and less risky. Just wait and see... And there will be OTAs with the official global rom.
installed the xiaomi.eu rom
it has xiomi apps (and new one from the quick menu)
it second space is off by defalt
i get twice the battery life (for my usage)
I wonder if this is the reason for the lack of the call recording feature:
https://iapp.org/news/a/how-do-the-rules-on-audio-recording-change-under-the-gdpr/ (summary, it's illegal in Europe to record calls, without the explicit agreement of the other person)
How about searching on APKMirror?
Hello everyone.
I have Mi 9T Pro with region set my country Ghana in Africa. I have Google dialer and Google contacts but I know there's a Miui app for that with call recording and more features.
I've tried googling and downloading apks from apkmirror but they all force close upon opening.
I've tried setting my region to India but nothing changes.
Any help in getting me the stock dialer and contacts working on my phone will be hugely appreciated.
Thanks ,

hello,
i have mi 9 lite and the default dialer is google dialer insted of miui dialer and there is a lot of problems in this ugly dialer:
1- you can't press power button to silent and turn off screen the screen will light again for incoming call and in full screen
2- you can't search by number i mean by typing part of the number in dial pad
3- you can't record calls
4- it use country code or something like that so you send a message to contact and he reply to new message because the message app sees it as different number
5- very lag and slow app
so is there any way please to uninstall this app and install miui apps for dial and message and contacts i don't care a lot about call recording if that is the problem but for all other reasons
thanks in advanced

Yes, I have Mi 9 Lite (EU version, EEA rom, not Mi CC9), and everything is working OK. But if the test shows only 5.0, that means your proximity sensor is broken. The reading should change to 0.0 when you cover the sensor, and back to 5.0 when you uncover it.

I'm on miui 14 EU rom and the rear display settings turns off randomly, also the display doesn't remember what I was last on, for example if I'm listening to music it need to double again and it starts on the clock. Anyone else with this issue?
The image shows the settings it resets to.

Hi Robert235,
I had the same problem with Xiaomi.eu 13.013.
In my opinion I had this issue after I tried super wallpaper.
This turns also off the AOD.
But I not recognized this, because AOD still works.
After I turn on AOD, also with super WP, the issue was gone with my rear display.
Maybe also on your device...
Good look
