Why does the K20 Pro click only 6 megapixel images with the telephoto lens in normal mode but take 8 megapixel photos with telephoto lens in portrait mode?
no difference here. 8MP in both modes
Just did a side to side comparison and the Mi 9T screen looks way sharper ( and is quite brighter) than my P30 Pro . I've started noticing that text is smudgy and i can make out the pixels on my P30 Pro , is this normal?I'm using FHD+ on both phones.
Hi everyone. I recently long time follower, new poster. I have been very interested in the Mate 40 Series. I'm Currently using the P30 Pro.
I recently Came across a Chinese Youtuber hokoonho who has been making very good hands on videos of these handsets.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q0xrV-HJesU&t=1084s Mate 40 Pro+ vs Mate 40 Pro
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_DoXyH1AdMU Mate 40 RS
The videos are in cantonese. I speak a little cantonese, so I understand about 80% of what he is saying.
I was Initially interested in the Mate 40 Pro+ for the 10x optical zoom, however, the Mate 40 Pro+ does not have the same ultrawide as the Pro or RS instead having a freeform lens with less distortion, however is a narrower aperture.
Specs: (same great 50MP f/1.9 for all 3)
Mate 40 Pro - 20mp Ultrawide f/1.8 , 12mp f/3.4 5x optical Zoom
Mate 40 Pro+ - 20mp Ultrawide f/2.4 (freeform), 12mp f/2.4 3x optical zoom, 8mp f/4.4 10x optical zoom
Mate 40 RS - 20mp Ultrawide f/1.8 , 12mp f/2.4 3x optical zoom, 8mp f/4.4 10x optical zoom
Per the youtuber in his use experience, the ultrawide on the Pro+ suffers in low light conditions compared to the Pro which is as expected especially with higher noise levels around the edges. He is also saying, despite the higher megapixel count and brighter aperture of the 5x optical of the Pro, that it cannot compare with the zoom capabilities of the 10x optical. Again as expected.
What do you guys think? Would you sacrifice for a dimmer ultrawide to gain 10x optical zoom on the Pro+, or go best of both worlds but pay for the RS in which you get the 10x optical zoom and the brighter ultrawide?
I know the P40 Pro Plus also has 10x optical zoom also, but the video performance is such a huge leap on this Mate 40 series, and I take videos all the time.
I never knew the Pro had a fast lens on the UWA , but I will still go for the Plus+ .The RS seems the perfect choice, but the price is too much.
For me the Pro+ has the wider ultra wide lens 14mm vs 18mm (Pro) which makes this much more versatile camera setup albeit slower f/2.4 aperture.
I moved away from Huawei P30 Pro when they only offered a narrower field of view with the Mate 30 Pro. P40 Pro etc..
The Pro+ could make me consider replacing my Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra but waiting to see more examples of how good the ultra wide lens is
Has the Mate 40 Pro + been released? I am finding very little to no information on it. Only find info on the Mate 40 Pro.
Hi guys, I wanna purchase the Huawei p30 Pro as I listened too much regarding to its camera specification, what's about your experience regarding these mobile phone in terms of Camera or you wanna suggest other mobile in the same range? jbbattery portugal
Yes, it has a good camera. Huawei p30 pro comes with the triple rear camera setup which includes 40-megapixel wide angle lens, 20-megapixel Ultra Wide Angle lens, and 8-megapixel telephoto. P30 pro has a 32-megapixel front camera which gives Ultra HD clear selfie photos. It has a 5x optical zoom lens.
Thanks @khotabutta35 for your review. Really Appreciated your time.
I have a question , the x90 pro plus have the AUTOFOCUS on the front camera (selfie camera) ?
No it doesn't. Also the 2x camera has no autofocus.
Only main camera, ultrawide and 3.5x have autofocus.

my ex x70 pro+ had autofocus on all rear cameras ( ultrawide , wide , 2x and 5x camera) Only the front camera didn't have autofocus, like x90 pro plus ... Bad news for me

Wtf are you talking
Main lens and ultra wide and also 3.5 all of these have auto focus only the 10x lens does not have it
Haha, first show me the 10x lens.... Then try again focussing if you like with manual focus and see which lenses exist and which have autofocus...

Dude, are you simple? He obviously means that you can't double tap to manual focus when using the 10x zoom. It just doesn't work. For 2x it does work.
I retried the 2x lens focus - now it's working. So sorry I was wrong about that. But before the trial update it clearly wasn't working in the gcam mods - I'm not finding them anymore right now - but focus was missing in camera2 api and some screenshots of that should still float around here - and I cannot bother with the stock camera too much anymore - I really hate both colour modes so I use gcam mainly now.
If the 3x zoom lens has autofocus, then a digital crop of it (10x) must have autofocus too. Simple, or do I need to dig deeper?
I checked on gsmarena and NOW , it show that ALL LENS on the rear of x90 pro plus have Autofocus
50.3 MP, f/1.8, 23mm (wide), 1.0"-type, 1.6µm, Dual Pixel PDAF, Laser AF, OIS
64 MP, f/3.5, 90mm (periscope telephoto), 1/2.0", 0.7µm, PDAF, OIS, 3.5x optical zoom
50 MP, f/1.6, 50mm (telephoto), 1/2.4", 0.7µm, AF, 2x optical zoom, OIS
48 MP, f/2.2, 14mm, 114˚ (ultrawide), 1/2.0", 0.8µm, AF
I had checked before opening this topic and it indicated 2x lens "NO AF"
For the selfie (front) is confimed that not have AF ... Bad
"No autofocus" is not bad. It means that it's a fixed focus lens. That's a special type of lens where a relatively wide range is always in focus. For a selfie camera, that's an advantage, because the subjects in selfies are usually within the same range and the camera does not need time to focus. No danger of missing the right moment (eyes closed etc.) or getting blurred images because of missed autofocus. Therefore the fixed focus lens is a better choice.
For me is bad ... My ex ex p40 pro have AF with 32mpx on front camera , my ex vivo x70 pro plus have 32mpx with no AF on front camera , the front camera of x90 pro plus is the same of x70 pro plus (Samsung S5KGD2 sensor)
Overall quality is quite low vs p40 pro , on the front camera ... For me
