Hello. Just thought I'd post this. I have the latest update with Digital Well-being. When I press on Do Not Disturb, it force closes. I posted on the Mi Community. See picture.......
If anyone has any other ideas, I'm open to suggestions. I'm not overly concerned, but the way they say "Just wait for next update", concerns me.
Anytime that this issue happens with any app that is installable from the playstore, the easiest thing to to open Playstore, go to Digital wellbeing, click uninstall, then immediately reinstall and open, allow permissions. Problem solved.
Sometimes this type of issue can be resolved by clearing the appdata from the app settings and then reapplying correct permissions. In this case uninstall and reinstall will be a faster resolution.

Are you sure it can be simply uninstalled from Google Play. I really doubt so.

It is part of the 10.3.5.0 update. I therefore cannot uninstall it, and have also tried the clear the data and reboot thing to no avail. I have checked permissions also, and the Do not disturb access is there along with storage.

I would try wipe and reinstall. I used fix number 4 and my htc apps have been completely removed.
I have to agree, I am also still seeing com.htc.worldclock and com.htc.lockscreen and clicking on them does in fact cause a FC. But I can confirm that those apps are indeed uninstalled, so I don't see it as a huge deal. I don't like using the manage applications menu anyways because it takes so long to compute all the sizes and load all the names, so not a huge deal for me. You think that maybe whiping the dalvik cache might fix this? Just a suggestion, not sure what it would actually do.
I don't know i will try it i just hope it not related to a bigger problem
I tried wiping via recovery and it tells me to flash via adb shell I'm currently running recovery 1.5.2
I have found that even on 1.5 if you removed a system app after it was installed on the phone that it still left a trace on the phone. the way I got around it was just by downloading the ROM unzipping it changing what I wanted to change and then rezip and resign and then flash then there is no trace at all.
im not to sure how to sign a rom is there a good page tutorial for it.\
Thank you

Wiping Dalvik doesn't fix this problem for me. I have the same issue -- "ghost" items in your Manage Applications menu that you know you have already uninstalled.
One temporary fix I've found is if you go into the Manage Apps menu and "Clear Data" in either "com.smithmicro.DM" or "Download Manager", all the ghost apps and pieces go away. But this doesn't last through a reboot -- those all show back up again after every reboot, so it's not a permanent fix.
Any others have any luck with clearing these "ghost apps/pieces" out of the Manage Applications menu?
(I'm currently using ZenEXP MT3G ROM 0.9.6.3)
I haven't looked into it, but I noticed the same problem. The app list must be cached somewhere, which is interesting because it takes a good 10 minutes to load the app list every time i go to manage applications, which is why I rarely use it.
So some apps such as go sms pro, power amp, etc has been clearing data randomly everytime i open it.
so everytime i open the app, it is as if i just downloaded it... everything has been reset to the original settings...
It seems to be spreading upon my apps because it started with 1 and now i have a lot more...
anyone know how to fix this? is this some sort of virus?(im not using any security apps)...

*need root*
using a file explorer (i suggest root manager) go to dbdata/databases/
find the folder that belongs to your program that is resetting itself
i.e (captivate.sgs.tools) if its sgs tools
delete it, and reboot your phone, restart app, do what you want to do (edit the settings or whatever), and then restart app again to see if its fixed.
lemme know how it goes~
hey thanks you so much! everything is working perfectly!
I don't know wtf is going on with my phone first the market now this. Anyone knows what the hack is that application in the attachment? When i changed screensaving from 2 to 10 it installed itself. Something doesn't want me to go out i am telling you, may be i should just stay in..
Looks like this app is automatic install when you install some app(Not sure what's app you install before).
If you can't uninstall it. Try to uninstall all apps that you have. If it's not work.
Factory reset and avoid install abnormal app.
Hey guys,
i'm wondering if we are able to uninstall an app that is located in the setting hub like Display + Touch from Nokia? Uninstalling a "normal" app works with holding the app and select uninstall, but works this also for apps in settings hub?
No, there's no official way to do such a thing. Sideloaded apps can be installed with minor hijacking of the installer code, or by changing them to install in the app list (it's a simple flag in the manifest), re-installing the app, and then removing it as normal. Store apps (including OEM apps, which are store-signed and can't be sideloaded) do not permit such shenanigans.

thanks for the tip!
I solved now the Problem by making a new app, with the same app id. It was the easier way than reseting the phone for deleting some apps from the settingshub...

Hi, I'm a Lumia 520 user from China. I've just read something about how to uninstall apps (e.g., from Nokia) located in the settings.
You can just set the date of the phone to 100 years later, say 2113/08/11. Save the date and re-enter the settings, try to open the settings app you want to uninstall, then will be prompted that "there are problems with this app", and there are "Uninstall" and "Purchase" buttons.
Hope this trick will help you. And the attachment is a screenshot of mine (in Chinese, sorry).
I have no idea about this trick to uninstall settings apps. Anyone knows? Thanks.
You're setting the phone's date past the expiration date for the app DRM. When the phone detects that the DRM is invalid (expired), it won't let you launch the app and offers to remove it for you.
Clever trick.

Does this work with the Samsung settings apps too?
Yes, of course it does. The only things that this *won't* work on are built-in programs (not apps, even if they were pre-installed) and *maybe* sideloaded apps (but probably those too; the dev-unlock has an expiration point).

I had that issue previously. I fixed it by restoring the V-Appstore.

How do you restore the v-appstore?
Since last version constant problems
And yeah same problem with apk as mentioned above. This is simply a phone constantly causing problems... Things don't work steadily...
agree completely. and the bugs are so inconsistent..so you cant really make sense of whats going on to remedy to it.

Did you change the "Background power consumption management" setting of AccuBattery to "High background power usage" ?

well it only applies if you actually removed or disabled the V-Appstore. Otherwise no idea what could be causing this problem.
If you debloated via ADB AppControl (https://adbappcontrol.com/en/) then it should be as easy as going into the "disabled" or "removed" tab and then restoring the app.
The alternative solution would be to run the reverse debloat script (credit to @raimondomartire for original script.
I edited it so it only restores the V-Appstore)

No change, accubattery is still set to high battery use, it's locked in the recent apps drawer and Autostart etc. Enabled.
But Autostart never worked for it. On reboot I always have to start it manually and never close the window in the recent apps otherwise I know Vivo kills it. It's really a pain seeing how unreliable those settings are. And I don't ever use power saving mode or dark mode....
Seeing it was killed several times according to the message is even more strange

What about the vivo.pem thingy? Did you remove it?
Yes of course. All other apps I added to Autostart and high battery use seem to be fine, at least for notifications. Because muted group chats on Line and Signal clearly need to download if not actually open before. So they seem to be somehow affected too. Note that this doesn't apply to non muted individual chats or non muted group chats.
I read somewhere that the bug with dark mode is triggered by muted group chats. Maybe this has system wide implications? That's what I hate here, bugs are kinda always depending on super strange combinations which don't seem to make sense in first place (more like some vivo engineer thought he can save some battery here or there without noticing to breaking a lot of functions. Clearly missing quality control between Teams or individuals working on the software)...
And again as long as an app is open in recent Apps app drawer its not affected.
Could it be that those users that aren't affected are using a third party app drawer for recent apps? If you do that than maybe the results will be way different (same as not having muted group chats).

If you can't install APKs, go to settings > Apps > package installer. On package installer clear cache, clear dat, force stop & uninstall updates. You can then install APKs again

Settings, apps& permissions --> apps manager --> there is no app with package in Name...
And accubattery got killed again... See zero battery usage and I had charged it to 100%... I really wonder if anyone gets equal hours here to actual phone use...
Accubattery is secured with the lock symbol yet if I swipe it up it gets killed. Adguard as a service works perfectly however. Accubattery cannot seem to get running as plain service however while storing usage data. The lockdown only changes that if you click on the X at the bottom the locked apps aren't killed.
Hmm, removing it from Autostart and reading it seems to have helped on reboots. But something seriously is wrong with this system if so often (notifications too) adding and removing an app from the lists changes something.

There is definitely a app called package installed installer, it's on every android device. Unless you've debloated it
Yes there is but I cannot open it. I can delete it's data/cache however which doesn't change anything.
It's only a service not an app itself it seems to me. And as it's a service only it cannot be managed through apps and permissions. It can be found by searching for it from settings search field

That's strange . I had same apk installation issues as, and I was able to uninstall updates for this package installer, cleared data and cache, and then apks installation worked without issues
