Hi Guys, good days. I'm new and really noob to android rooting and all that kind of stuff (it's my first Android). I'm using Mi A2 with Android One (Jasmine Sprout). I'm on Android Pie now and wanted to Install Custom ROM, my questions are:
1. What are the steps to install custom ROM if my device is bootloader locked? is it Installing TWRP first then magisk and then flashing the custom ROM?
2. Do you guys have any Custom ROM recommendation? My plan is to flash Havoc OS
3. I really scared if the device bricked, so are there any advice on what are the things I musn't do as a noob in doing rooting and flashing custom ROM?
4. What are the version of TWRP, Magisk and the Custom ROM that sync to one another so that my device won't bricked or bootlooping?
I'm sorry if my questions are too many, thank you if you guys willing to help me. sorry if my English is bad as it's not my first Language. I will search the forum for the guide. I'm posting this question just to make sure I'm not missing anything during the search and reading the guide. Thank You

1. Follow this guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a2/how-to/guide-how-to-flash-custom-roms-stuff-t3876375 . It includes how to unlock bootloader and how to flash each modules.
2. HavocOS is very good OS to begin with, I recommended it for daily use.
3. Follow the instruction thoroughly from the guide, don't be impatient and skip some steps. If you do it correctly then the chances your phone brick is very little. Also read and do some research in this forum to see some information that might be helpful for you. Remember Mi A2 codename is jasmine_sprout. this is very important as it difference with Mi 6X with codename wayne. Always follow codename of your phone.
I also recommended to use PC with USB Port 2.0 during step using ADB fastboot.
4. You can check the latest version on each respective threads.

Hello guys, as you can see I am new to the forum and new to android in general. [Used to be an iOS fanboy] I have recently acquired an LG Optimus Black but i'm unhappy with the stock ROM provided by LG.
I have a few questions:
1) What are my options for rooting the device?
2) Once rooted, what custom ROMs are currently available for the device?
3) If I flash a new ROM is it possible and what would I need to have/do to restore the device back to the stock ROM?
And lastly...
4) What is the chance of fully bricking the device and what are my options if the device gets bricked?
Thanks a lot, [Hope this was the right section and hasn't been asked before...]

All was asked and ANSWERED before. Move your a** and search for it.
I have searched actually. The questions that have been answered aren't specific to my situation and I know that small details are very important when flashing phones. If you aren't answering the question I guess what you posted would be considered spam?
Guys,
Please refrain from bickering, two ways this can be easily resolved:
1. Use google search with the word xda in it to find your answer
2. Rather than posting move your a** and find it, if you know the link or answer, why not help a brother out?
I will say no more on the matter, its that simple.
THanks.

No point arguing..if you don't wanna help just ignore.
If you wanna reply, make sure it helps others.
1) What options? It's either you root or you don't. Either way, your phone works.
2) Currently there's only NOVA Rom by knzo.
3) Read this thread here.
4) Chances of bricking are slim if you read before attempting anything. If in any case your phone is bricked (boot loop), refer to the above.
Hope it helps.
Welcome to the Android community
Thank you very much for the very active response and information.... I am also studying these issues.

Exactly what I needed, thanks a lot!
I've heard a lot of the current roots don't work for the OB?
And is NOVA the ONLY ROM at the moment, I thought I heard about another one?
Older firmwares, you can use Gingerbreak. If it doesn't work, then most probably you're on the newer firmwares. Then use SuperOneClick.
The other one is Pays ROM. It's been abandoned.
It needs v10b Firmware to run. If you're not familiar, stick to Nova ROM.
Cyanogenmod is in progress (i hope so)

Hi,
Got a galaxy note with baseband version N7000XXKK5 and kernel version of 2.6.35.7-N7000XXKK5-CL726566. I'm totally new with flashing ROM such as this on android and I'm just wondering if somebody could provide with the instructions and tools to get me started specifically for Rocket ROM?
I am a returning xda user from the good old times of WinMo on htc touch and htc diamond
Thanks!
first of all you need to get Root your device. If you are non rooted then go to first link of my signature. And remember
You need to post it in Q & A section or to Roket ROM Thread itself.
This is development section.
Yups. 1st u need to root your device. The easy method is CF root by Chainfire
Hi,
Rocket Rom installation is not different from any other Custom Rom one.
First thing you have to do is, sorry for this....., STUDING.
Note is a really expensive phone so, before modding it, take some time to understand what you are doing (I followed Note's forum for 1 month before rooting mine), becaouse with modding you can:
• lose your warranty
• brick(=destroy) your NOTE!! (this can 99% happen if you don't know what are you doing...).
Ok now let's start with real advice:
1) Start from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1325369&highlight=efs (ORIGINAL EFS folder is ESSENTIAL for Samsung warranty)
2) Root your Note http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1331784 instruction on the second POST
3) Go to Rocket Rom page and follow instruction http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1380284 (Dev of the Rocket Rom eybee1970 stopped updating this fantastic Rom so , by now, don’t expect further update)
My last advice is READ READ READ and SEARCH in XDA forum, 99% of question you can imagine has just been asked.
XDA is a really great place to understand, but you have to put some effort into
BTW…welcome to the great community of NOTE’s Owner, probably the best Android Device.
Thank you guys for your replies and suggestions. Really appreciate it. These definitely give me a good starting point
Cheers

Hello guys,
I have the note 5 n900c, and I am interested in rooting and installing custom packages.
Could anyone with some experience compile a quick guide on:
How to find the latest rooted stock firmware for Note 5
How do you keep the device updated when Samsung releases new firmware (or updates) ? do you have to wipe each time ? how do you backup if so?
I am just looking for a convenient way to root and keep the device up-to-date with all the minor fixes released by Samsung.
Thank you guys for helping.

Hi,
Firstly search XDA Note5 forum and you will learn.!
There is threads/Guide, in General forum of Note5 and on other websites /forums.
Secondly, you state you" have a note 5 n900c "..?
You sure not a" N920C "model.?
Remember , if you root you cannot install OTA /updates from Samsung, (unless you unroot etc)
Even if you manage to download a OTA, you most likely will "brick" you device!
Otherwise, you have to flash current new updated Samsung Rom , everytime and root again.
Before you attempt to root...... you have to read alot and Google search to find the correct information. Also viewing YouTube videos helps.
I can deduct from your post, you still have a lot to learn about rooting.
Don't just root because it "cool"!
Remember, in effort to root, you can brick your device...!
trip Knox, plus other issues etc. maybe your device does not want to enter "sleep" mode, maybe warranty etc. Can't install "certain apps " because your device is rooted.
So after you searched and have read the Guides that is available, then decide what you want to do.?
Also note, that for some device /models, members do not have root.. yet.!
Its your device..!
good luck

Hi,
Yes, if you flashed a good reliable custom Rom ,
the relevant dev of Rom most probably would keep updating "all." plus other handy mods and features. etc
He would also most probably specify this in relevant custom Rom thread (Normally , the first, second or third post.)
I would not worry to much about this. Just subscribe to that
thread, that you know of any issues or new versions
that is available.
Good luck
Hey there,
I got a Redmi Note 10 Pro and wish to install the TWRP what don't know where to get the file that is up to date.
And I also wanted to know If I install the TWRP will I still be able to get the new MIUI 13 Update and all ?
Sorry If the questions are a bit stupid, but this is my first time really
Thank you kindly in advance.
all the information you need is written in this Forum. use the search function and read all instructions very carefully if you don't want to brick your device.
Please read and get info from the following thread : https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/recovery-unofficial-teamwin-recovery-project.4248449/
Installing TWRP will not prevent you from installing any update on MIU.

I am a noob here, having no experience whats so ever about flasing roms.
I bought y700 from Aliexpress and you guys probably know it came with this fake "Global" rom which restricted a lot of og functions from the tablet.
As far as I know from browsing this Thread
1. its better to just flashing the original chineses rom back right?
2. I have found this steps by steps guide
link Is it fine to just follow this?
3. Do I need to learn some knowledges before doing this? if yes, i will be really appreciated if you guys can also provide the specific links to them.
Thank you in advance.
