Changes in New OTA update received on 27th July

Guys i got an ota update today. Any idea what are the changes?

well i dont expect android wear 2 anytime sooner. because its still in preview version available for limited models. So there will not be any ota update.

Got to admit.. I didn't get a little excited as this thing has sucked lately

The update bricked my watch. I noticed it wasn't connecting with my phone so I reset device. Now it won't boot beyond the LG logo. Accessing the recovery mode of the bootloader did nothing. Still progressed to the logo and then died.

I received update too, installed it successfully, I feel watch smoother but I don't know if it is due to cleaned cache etc.

The only difference i noticed is the smoothness in scrolling.

Update came through for me yesterday - watch seems a lot smoother than it was previously.

And i got another update today. its really nice to see frequent regular updates for our devices

I received it also. Shows v1.5 with August security patch level. I was hoping by some miracle it would be 2.0

Thats true and my guess is, we might get 2.0 by end of september.

does your watch power-off when the weather is getting warm? mine was like that. I took it to the LG repair center and they replaced the body.

Yes poweroff-s were on hot days.. 30+ First poweroff I recal was indeed on the Beach :/
now after last update from 27.8 its working for a week. but it's colder now 26 -28C .. and 20C today :/ Huh...
I hope for some warm weather next week . to make final test before sending it to the service center...

Pretty impressive. It's been years since I've had a phone that got security updates this soon, awesome.

Didn't work for me. I am trying now with unpatched boot image

For those asking about updates with rooted / unlocked devices;
I'm pretty sure that you can download the update ota. But if 'system' on your phone has been modified, it won't install. Let us know. Do you have systemless root? From what I read the update should install then.

Still getting update errors. I don't know, should work. Will try again with better connection later
Edit: Nope. Guess I'll do a factory reset later as magisk manager stopped worked a few days ago as well. Something is fishy

The build number is now different, no changes to the cam2 api, not sure what else.

I use Velis Auto Brightness and it's working. Never tested it before so not sure if it's different, but it's definitely working now.

Just tested with phone call, screen goes off when put to ear, comes on when move away.

Current issues:
Proximity sensor during calls doesn't work
Cpu stuck to max frequency causing battery drain
Slow memory reading and writing speeds

Couldn't really do much testing, but from the little I've used the phone since the update it does look like adaptive brightness is working (at least as good as any other stock Android phone I've used recently).

Idk if im paying 250 euro for a phone I demand a good working phone able to do basic needs . Taking ages to write a file and dying after 2.5 hours SoT imo is not acceptable. this is just poor quality control. The average user is not able to mess around with kernel auditor , proximity calibration and what not

Sorry to disagree, but this bug of max frequencies, affecting some and not others, is one of the most importance bug to solve or saing something about, because users are confused without knowing if their new phone has a hardware issue or not, to be return.
They had their chance to solve this in this patch if really was a software issue, now im not sure of that.
By the end of today, Xiaomi will lose a lot of A2 users.

So, September 2019 Update N960FXXS2ARH6 is out..

Anyone got this update yet? Anyone notice any improvements?

Not yet, but it's only a security update.

I got it a few days ago, didnt really notice any improvement anywhere, but there isnt really anything to improve anyway in the first place (for me atleast)

damn, guess we have to wait for another month to get any internal fixes. Using an Exynos variant and battery life hasnt been great

Just got it. Had to manually look for an update and it was ready to download.
BTW, new build seems to fix the camera lockup!

Yeah: I DO HAVE the security patch of SEPTEMBER 2018 on my device, but didn't receive the SEPTEMBER 2019 patch yet...

It does feel better in battery. After a day of constant use my battery is at a higher level than in the past few days.

Excuse me, but do you know the gravity of what you just said here?!? The camera lockup issue is effecting (what seems like) Thousands of people!!! this is great news !!
PS, I personally haven't had alot of freeze or lockups but my mother's phone has

Small caveat. Saw this in the other thread and tested it... pro mode is still laggy. Auto is smooth now at least

ARH6 is for Verizon. Saw a post about it just now.

After getting this OTA my battery life is horrid and seems to lose 1 percent every hour just sleeping. I also don't seem to have any new wakelocks. I tried clearing cache from recovery, clearing cache for google services, checking settings ect. Anyone else experiencing this?

Guessing it's 9.05. won't be sure until I reboot.

9.05 is OnePlus's software version.
9 is Android P, from Android/Google.

Doesn't seem to include 9.0.5's feature set, so it may be based on it stability and system improvements wise, but doesn't add some if not most of the perks of the actual OOS build, no wonder it took so long to be released...

Yeah that's definitely a plus, it was one of the reasons I converted, worked so much better on 9.0.5, good for everyone who's still on stock, device works better now and they said nightmode got an update too, so pics should be nicer in the dark.

So they added the stability updates, but ripped out everything else it seems. Not cool. Wonder how long it'll actually take us to get the 9.05 build.

Someone said black friday, so roughly a week from now, sit tight and see what happens in a week.

The update mentions something about updating the Unlock app. I mean obviously for us it's not a big deal anymore, but I wonder if they fixed the problem where people were only getting temporary unlocks approved but perm unlocks pushed through.

Orrrrr maybe they fixed that possible bug where people would request permanent unlocks immediately at purchase and got approved despite being on eip and under 40 days, some even tried within the first 24hrs and got approved automatically for some odd reason, lol.

Got this off reddit. Seems to add the new gestures from 9.0.5(?) as well as other improvements. Can someone who got this update on the TMO firmware check to see if the gestures are actually the ones in the latest update. Then we can confirm that the TMO variant just has a different naming convention.
Also, the build of that is 181029 while the 9.0.5 intl. is 181103

What's quick launch? Boost mode? If so its not in this update. Nor are the live wallpapers or new info screen.

I don't know how to add pictures on this site, but my game pad app looks different. That button only allows me to switch between different preset controllers, not create a new one - additionally my game pad can't emulate screen touches, it can only emulate a game controller. Which version of the v50 do you have?

I'm sorry, I'm not bringing my phone with me. But fyi my phone is korean version and just update to latest version about 2 or 3 days ago. Maybe tomorrow I can give you the detail about the version.

Is the Korean version getting updates faster than the euro model? I am in Australia and I have the LM-V500EM. I haven't got any updates recently.

Not following update centre reports sept. Do you mean last update, if so i think that's just the date you updated. As mine is a new phone mine states 31 october as in the day i updated.
