Lock Screen Wallpaper won't hold - Samsung Galaxy S10 Questions & Answers

Hey,
not sure if this is a Pie problem or not, it could be by design, I'm trying to change the lock screen wallpaper, sounds easy enough, I've changed it but after a few screen switch on's, the background just stays black, everything else shows, clock, notifications, just the background goes.
I'm not sure if its designed to do this as I'm going from AOD to the lock screen, I've tried various photos, different ways of changing it, different launchers, nothing will enable it to hold the background.
Any advice is greatfully appreciated...

Changing Home screen background back to normal?

I forgot to lock my phone before putting it in my pocket, and now I have one of the blank "Contact Favourite Silhouette" pictures as my background instead of the all black background of the normal HTC TF3D...
I have no idea how to change it back to normal. Can someone help. (I think I have tried all the obvious places.)
Thanks in Advance.
if you go back to settings-background it asks if you want to use the default background then you choose yes and its back to normal
Under settings, I have 3 tabs. Personal, System and Connections. I do not see background under any of them? Am I missing something?
you have to go to settings through tf3d menu, the logo next to the weather, there you will see settings, and background
Although I feel stupid for missing that I cant thank you enough. You have no idea how annoying it was looking at that horrible background. Thankd again !!
ahah no problem

Any way to have more fine grained control over animations?

Inside the Sound & display settings menu is section to turned down the animations used throughout the system. I find that turning them all of really makes the phone feel snappy, but it comes at the cost of some of the nice animated transitions between screens and apps. The settings allow three different options: completely off, some animations, or all animations turned on.
What I really want is all of the animations, except for the opening application one. This is the animation that occurs when you launch an application from one of the home screens or the launcher and it looks like the application window grows out from the center of the screen until it fills the entire screen. I think this one looks bad, especially when you have a bright colored background and when it is turned off applications feel like they open much quicker. Selecting 'some animations' from the settings will turn this one off, but it also disables the sliding transition that occurs when traversing through menus and pages in an app, which I actually really like.
So does anyone know of a way to disable animation one at a time?
I normally just set the animations to fast from the 'spare parts' application that is in most roms.

I tried that but it's still not ideal. I guess it can't be done at this point...

CM10.1 lock screen widgets

So just installed CM10.1 on my Touchpad. Works great. Now Im reading that you cn add widgets to the lock screen and have looked at videos on how to do it. But there is just no + icon on my lock screen. Could it be that I have an assigned PIN to unlock my device? If so then how do you add a widget in this scenario?

Have you tried swiping left? Still nothing?
yes i have swiped left, right, up, down. there is no + icon. I see in the settings under Lockscreen there is an option to allow multiple widgets. Have turned that on and off with no results. There is the Widget pager>Allow multiple widget pages to be added and selected. That's is checked on. Then there is Camera widget>Show the camera widget to the right of the unlock screen. That is checked on. Doesn't change my lockscreen in any way.
Actually I have done that several times and when I go back the options are turned back to off. Wonder if that has to do with me connecting to Exchange and it being part of the security policy. I don't know I'm just shooting in the dark.

Galaxy Camera EK-GC200 losing wallpaper

Since having the camera, the wallpaper I choose never stays for long and the camera reverts back to a gradient blue on home screen and lock screen. Every morning when I check it, see it has gone back to the default blue.
The issue occurs whether I use the other available internally stored OEM wallpapers or alternate.
Any ideas?
Same thing happens to me, but my Google account also disappears. Sometimes it happens at the same time, and sometimes it's just the wallpaper. The interestng part is that when I used a completely custom wallpaper it never happened -- only when I used one of the stock wallpaper choices.

Any way to change the lock screen clock?

So I know we've just gotten our hands on this phone but is there any way to change the rediculous stacked clock other than a theme? I think the S8 is same so maybe there's an app for this.
Settings>Display then scroll to bottom and you'll see the option for Always on Display, Smart Stay etc.
Not the aod clock, I mean the actual lock screen clock.

I have an S8 Plus and this is what worked for me to get the awful stacked clock off of the lock screen. 1) go to settings, choose the option for Lock Screen / Wallpapers. 2) Choose the option for Information / FaceWidgets. 3) Choose the option for Contact Information. At this point, you can enter your contact info if you want to, but you don't have to. Simply hit the space bar a time or two, and save. You should now have a much better clock when you look at your lock screen.

Yikes not the ****!
I just put a weather widget on the lock screen under the clock and that took care of it.

Choose a theme. I know it's a bit of an annoyance, but I changed my theme and it changed the lock screen clock.
If you turn on notifications in settings, lock screen and security, the clock will be horizontal. It could go back to vertical when there are no notifications, but i have viber icon enabled, so there's always one notification active.

I’m not sure this is exactly what you mean, but I figured I would post it and if not you won’t use it. I didn’t liked the digital clock either because it was stacked. I also already have a digital clock in the notification area. So I chose the analog clock and picked a different color as well. This has nothing to do with a theme because I actually set this up and Nova before I looked for a way to get a dark background and found a decent then that worked for me. I hope this helps and it’s what you are looking for. I would’ve answered sooner, but I just noticed this thread. If you meant something else and you haven’t solved it, please let me know.

AOD (Always on Display) is not what I'm talking about. The option your talking about is for AOD not the lock screen clock.

Yes, it was. Like I said, I wasn’t 100% certain exactly what you were looking for. However, that being said, I do have an analog clock on my AOD and a normal digital clock on the lock screen. I think there are only 2 possibles on why that working on my phone:
1.) I have a free theme downloaded and installed because I wanted a black background. I was concerned on doing this because I have my phone setup to look a certain way as I’m sure you do as well. I use Nova Prime and Cobalt Icon Pack. I was afraid that if I installed this it would change what I had set up, but it different. In case you wanted to try it, the name of the theme is Material_Black
2.) The other idea that I have heard that works and ironically I’m using one, is to install a Weather app. I have Transparent clock & weather installed. I also use the a widget from this app on my home screen to show the time, weather, and lots of other stuff. I’ve read from other people mention 2 or 3 other weather apps working as well. So if you’re using a different one, maybe you could try that first.
The reason I am assuming it’s one of these 2 ideas is because I changed my AOD clock to be the stacked version and my lock screen clock didn’t change. It stayed it’s normal digital. So obviously what you have set on your AOD has no bearing on the lock screen. If you try the theme idea, I don’t believe there are any special settings to enable. However, using the weather app may require a specific setting that I’m not sure of. I’ve been using my weather app for years on numerous phones and I really haven’t changed any settings on it other than some aesthetics.
I hope this helped out. If not, I can look again in my phone because obviously something is working on my phone to accomplish what you want. I would also appreciate it if you try these ideas, if you could let me know if it works and which one/specific settings. This way in case I come across other people with the S8/S8+ and Note 8 I can be more specific in helping them. Good luck! I hope one of them work!
