I actually tryed to get a working GCam mod and the best actually is the newest version of arnovas GCam mod. The pictures are more clear and sharp with less noise than with the original Camera app.
But the most important important improvement for me is the much better nightmode.
But the problem is that the UI will only work when you start the app in closed mode and when you unfold the phone without restarting the app. If you start it in unfold mode the shutter will be in the middle of the screen.
You can find all infos on the development and the downloads on arnovas tread here:

@Arnova8G2 thanks for your great work. Maybe you can help us fixing the interface on the fold.

browsing around, there are so many versions, that its difficult to keep up.
im currently trying the GCam_7.2.010_Urnyx05-v2.2.apk (Urnyx05, 2020-01-31), because it seems to be the most generic, and most up to date one.
unfortunately, im not seeing any improvement. still seeing quite a bit of noise, and the stock galaxy camera is giving me brighter photos.
i've deleted whatever quick test shots i took, ill post some if i get any real good ones.

Have you managed to find anything better? I've tried about a dozen different gcam apps so far, not comprehensively--just installing, launching to see if all the buttons/menus are in the right place, and if they're not, uninstalling. So far I've found UltraCam v3.2.3 to have the most working features (except telephoto). I'm a former Pixel user so it kinda sucks that Samsung's native camera app seems to be worse across the board, except for maybe videos.
Havent broken when use port. Mode
Please share the ui screenshot of this gcam
I'd like to see the comparison vs LG Dual screen

I've run a search and can't find a concrete IncS specific (or otherwise Sense related) answer.
I went about installing Cyanogenmod 7 on my Incredible S and it worked wonderfully save for the camera application. The refresh rate on the preview was horribly low and there was significant lag compared to while on Sense.
I'm aware that the Sense apk cannot be used on non-Sense ROMs. I'm curious to know what other IncS owners running Cyanogenmod 7 do in regard to camera functionality. I've since hopped back over to Virtuous but would like to use Cyanogenmod again if I could sort out the camera issue.
Thanks guys.
There is a miui camera that significantly improves the camera functionality.

I've been trying to fix this for a while and have found no solution. MIUI camera, FX camera, and Tiny Photo are are a few options (but I agree about MIUI - doesn't fix anything).
Question - do you find when you're taking a picture from a different app it works ok? When I use the camera app I get the noise, but if I use WhatsApp for instance take a picture and attach is, I find there's no noise.
I don't think the stock cyanogenmod camera is setting the iso properly, I've tried it on auto, and on every other setting, but the resulting photos all seem to come out the same, with lots of noise.

It works better in certain situations for some reason. Sometimes lots of grain, sometimes none. But my main point is - it doesn't compare to Sense in any way, from quality to UI and back..a lot of room for improvement
This problem had been discussed over and over again. The only way to fix it is to find someone with knowledge in programming and digital camera programming to decipher the code in the sense version of the camera software.
Well I just got back from my international holiday trip and not totally impressed
The phone worked fine with the international sim card, hate that I can't see what's downloading in the background (google sync, android stuff), because my credit was running out fast and all I used was facebook which was free on the carrier. (social networking)
Also, camera took quite good photos but not as good as the sense. I love how it did widescreen photos rather than just a box size. Also I found my battery died a lot when I wanted to use it.. sitting by the pool and surfing facebook for 1h would use about half the battery. and can't put tiamat on my phone either.
so right now my phone is just sitting in my drawer, because my family member gave me their old iphone and find it more reliable for the time being
I just can't get used to android after having it for over a month, must just be me. I'm not giving up though. Maybe next step is to try another ROM.
Why didn't you turn off data and auto sync?
You seem like the iPhone type lol

An hour of constant internet for me uses 15 percent battery approximately. (screen on the entire time)
I consider that pretty good

Well, I had an international sim with internet so no reason to turn off data, and would prefer auto sync the same as back home. everything was off except facebook updates.
Also on cyanogenmod, camera is good and clear but doesn't go in widescreen like stock ROM does (I really want to go back to stock but i cant ) and no photo editing effects built in on cyanogenmod. hmm.

My miui camera went nuts today. I can only see the image on half of the screen while taking pictures. It's like the menu area is unwilling to release its reserved screen area.

E: the problem was caused by Crystal theme.
Dear all, I have recently bought 2 Xperia T's one for my wife and another for my mother (they both seem to have the same issue).
They are currently running the most recent stock ROM 4.1.2, not rooted just how it came from the box with one big update to 4.1.2.
I have read in many reviews that the camera was good, at least better than the one in Galaxy Note (N7000) or Galaxy S2, nevertheless when I compare the pictures, specially in lower light (just not the ideal, in doors with some light) scenarios they are all extremely blurred.
Am I doing something wrong? I use the 2 stage button to take the pictures, press it a little bit to get it to focus and then I press it a little more to take the picture.
When comparing the pictures in the same conditions, my Galaxy Note 1 does a better job, which is a pity as one of the selling points for my wife was the 13Mgpx camera.
If anyone could help me I would greatly appreciate it.
Many thanks in advance for all your input.

Thanks for the reply. What should I put? Normal or something else?
Another thing I always use the 9Mgpx settings as it gives the 16:9 instead of 4:3 with 13Mgpx.
Just try with different settings. Its just like any camera, you need the correct setting for the picture you are taking. Superior auto sort of just takes a best guess and is good for quick snaps, but if you want a decent photo then you have to go through the settings and set it up as you want it.
There is a thread in the general section about how to take decent photos, just search for it.
@Johev if you find the thread about good camera settings please share it with me also, I googled but didn't find (found similar threads but for other phones )
thanks bye!

Hi @moly82, I have found the thread and it was somewhat useful.
Please see here
As for the summary of the advice is not to use the automatic settings, and to use normal settings with image stabilization ON (it is off be default) and sometimes you can play with ISO, etc.
I did try it and it seemed to improve the pictures so far, nevertheless have 2 complaints:
1) You need to know what you are doing, like for example my wife does not care what the settings are, just wants the pictures to look well. On my Galaxy Note 1 the N7000 or on the Galaxy S2 the pictures on default settings look better.
2) There is no way that I could find to have the default settings in the camera be Normal instead of the automatic [iCamera picture] ones. Which means that after you press the camera button to launch the camera application, you first need to change the settings and only than you can start taking pictures. This every time you launch the camera.
If anyone knows how to change the last point I would be grateful, as I am tiered of hearing that her old Xperia Ray took better pictures than the Xperia T.

Hi All,
Newbie here so please be gentle with me, love the look of this fourm so thought I would join in!
I purchased the Nokia 7 Plus here in the UK (TA-1055 model) about a week ago and I am very happy with it, I do have a few questions tho...
What does it mean by unlocking the bootloader? what does this do and what can you do once you have done this?
Is it really worth using the google camera app instead of the stock Nokia camera app?
Other tips on getting more battery life (not that I run out, just curious as to what settings you can change)
Also I am not getting the notification dots come up on any apps and the notification dot settings is set to on
Look forward to hearing your wise words!
I have the same model.
Unlocking bootloader is necessary to make root access workable and change ROMs etc. If you don't know what that means then don't bother with it
Yes it's really worth to use Google Camera app for normal photos (not videos). The difference is unbelievable. Use APK and settings from here https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76834155&postcount=267
Don't know how you can improve battery life (never bother with this, Android does this automatically) and get your notification dots working (notification dots need special permissions if you use another launcher).

Hi mate,
Thanks for your reply, dont think I will bother with the bootloader stuff as sounds too complicated for me lol.
Ok thats great will try that camera app! and how come dont use it for videos? I have just upgraded to this phone from a Moto G4+ and was seriously considering swapping this for a Moto G6 plus but really want to give this phone a chance! as i do like it!
And as for notification dots I managed to sort that in the special permissions settings by turning on launcher 3!
Video will not work well with Pixel camera because mainly of sound. The Nokia uses a special sound system with several mics called Ozo Sound. So it's best to use it with the Nokia camera itself.
Ok thanks, and is the sound quality noticeable when playing the video back on the phone or on a pc?
And not sure if this is something I can change in settings but the gcam won't zoom in when I want to take a photo is this right?
I think noticeable on both.
There is no good zoom in gcam because there is no Google phone camera with an optical zoom or second lens (so no support for second lens).

China Mainland seems to have published nw-a100 and ZX500 Series with android 9 system
Have you tried to extract the app of the player from walkman APP (W.mucis)
For use with XPERIA phones.
What's the difference between the two apks?

Some minor diffenence in settings.
Not all settings work, have to try some times.
My observations so far are that Gcam images look more organic and with much less artifacts than the stock camera, jpg files are also bigger with more information and hold up to editing better than the ones from the stock camera. The port is definitely worth it and I hope M-rom keeps working on it.
I can't get regular photos to work with either apk. Video works, photos w/front camera work, but can't get rear camera to work. Any tips?
No idea, both versions work for photos for me (on one of them portrait mode doesn't start). I use both.
Can anyone post comparison photos between Gcam and original ?

Maybe you can check if you turned the "raw+jpg" on or not. I tried this before and it won't work. Turned off then rear camera worked.
I've tried quite a few gcam ports and I've found this version to be the best. The only issue I've found is the preview image freezes when using selfie night mode. It still takes a picture ok just the preview image freezes. It seems to be a common issue across all the ports I've tried.

Yep, been using this one also. Big improvement over the stock camera app!
Default app likes to just mesh colours together and makes it look pretty bad and blurry, but this port makes photos have much more detail.
I've just tried the Parrot043_v7 version and can confirm that night mode using selfie camera works perfectly on this one. There are a lot more options in the settings menu also regarding white balance and astrophotography etc.

Yes you are right, it does still freeze. It's really strange, in good lighting the front camera won't freeze when switched into night mode which is why I thought it worked, I was in a lit room at the time. If the environment is darker, the front camera preview still freezes like it always did.
Does the GCAM port give you the option of 1080/60fps for video?
I don't have the phone yet so am not even sure what the stock camera app options are.
Thanks

Well, the port I use does have a 60fps option, but the actual video itself doesn't look that smooth.
I'm sure another port will pop up soon enough with proper support (as this one has the option to enable 4k, but really it bumps it up from 720p to 1080p).
Thanks for that, it's good to know as I purchased it online assuming it would have the capability.
I was looking at other phones with the 665 SOC like the Xiaomi Note 8t and that has the 1080/60fps option in the stock camera app whereas Oppo doesn't for some reason.

I just checked the Oppo website and it doesn't look like the camera supports 60fps https://www.oppo.com/au/smartphone-a52/specs/
Although not sure if a Gcam port can "enable" it down the track.
I realised that after I purchased it of course
The Xiaomi Note 8t added 60fps after an update so it wasn't there initially either, maybe Oppo will do the same.
GCAM sounds way better anyway so hopefully the 60fps smoothness issue gets sorted.

Haha, such is the nature of the bargain priced beast, too good to pass up so you buy it on a whim!
But yes I'm sure there'll be a Gcam port popping up to solve the issue soon enough.
Plus it launched with Android 10, bound to be updated like the Xiaomi
I believe this port works best along with Mar 2020 config file which is also in the config folder
although it's not the most recent, it's most compatible, feel free to tweak settings according to your preference if anything breaks just load the xml file.
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/117YpZCBTAhj1Gno7W_2dX_RSPAfdhi3u?usp=sharing
use the mar 2020 configuration file, the only bug with this is in slo mo videos where if you do 1/8 mode, it may not work properly so you have to stop recording and restart recording then it works.
all other ports have white dot (luma) noise on front cam and fixing it by library tweaks makes textures loose detail and sharpness, and view finder hangs in certain modes.
