Just got my S10 5G really pleased however having issues copying the images over from my old phone.
Got 4000+ images currently on my PC, all in date order. When I plug the S10 in and copy the images over the majority of them copy over fine retaining the correct date however a handful of them (200 or so) completely loose their date stamp and instead put the current date in it's place. It's annoying because I end up with really old pictures at the top of my camera roll in the Gallery app.
Any suggestions how I can copy these images over whilst retaining the original date stamps?
Thanks!

Hey all,
Bit of a weird one, since going from stock to Fr11 using Google Gallery (rather than LG which I didn't bake into the ROM) it seems that the photos are stored backwards. So my oldest photos show at the front and I have to scroll all the way to the end to see any new ones, I can't find any options to change the order they are displayed in.
I am using External SD as main storage.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Check your device date, did you take any with the wrong date?
P
Device date is OK and just taken a photo which has ended up at the end.
99% of the photos are from my Desire which remained on the SD card, I have only taken a couple with my LG2X and have now deleted those photos, cleared all app data and cache for gallery and re-scanned media...still the same :/
I have the same problem and it is painful
Quick update, as I was upgrading to Fr12 last night I cooked the LG gallery back into the ROM. Running this instead of standard Google gallery (even if they look the same) the photos are now in the correct order again.
This is going to sound like a really daft question, but how do I 'properly' copy photos off the 4x HD?
Since the latest update v20b the camera behaves a bit odd with its photo numbering - if you delete a photo, the next time you take a picture it will fill the next earliest photo number, so numbering is completely out of sequence.
If I connect the phone to my PC and copy photos off, all data regarding dates seems to be wiped.
So I can't go by the number, that's out of sequence, and I can't go by date, as the dates all get set to today's while I'm copying!
How do I copy photos off in the correct order??
Thanks

Don't have stock camera so no way to test but the date you see in windows is likely the date the file was created, a copy would always be the present date. I imagine the metadata would still be correct however. In windows, try this.
Right click -> sort by -> more
Then you should get a checklist with options, select "Date taken" and then open the sort by menu again, and selecting date taken.
Hello!
I've a strange and really annoying problem. Sometimes pictures (photos taken by me, whatsapp images, ecc...) vanish from the phone, not only from the gallery but also from the file managers. Then the reappear magically, but like today they are not back!! Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a solution?
All the files are in the internal sd and i've not rooted the phone (L-10) yey since it's pretty new. I'm on the latest official firmware.
PS I also have some double folders (like dowloads and whatsapp), both with the same elements and both with the same last change date (which is also wrong because it shows a day of last month while i modified these folder even today)
Running a stock Nexus 6 w 5.1 lmy47d on T-Mobile in case it matters. At some point over the last couple weeks it seems that Photos has been updated (or at least the gallery view part of it) so that photos I've edited replace the original photo instead of showing up as a new image. That's in Photos, where selecting the edited photo gives me the option to view the original by clicking a little button.
When I'm trying to post an image on fb or text it to someone, however, I can only see the original image with no way to find the edited version. Needless to say the various folders and navigation options for locating images were already confusing, but this really messes me up. Is there a way to turn this "helpful" feature off? Why can't photos just all be there? Why are edited images no longer stored under On Device? Where is everything.......?
Arggggh.

very simple solution.. use a different gallery app. photos i dont use, but i do use the aosp gallery app.
I have a Samsung S10 and I recall before when putting a new SD card, and moving the photos from the old one to the new one, they would lose the actual taken date. Meaning, whenever I would go to Gallery, instead of the photos been categorized by date, as they were taken or the video, they would have the new date of when they got transfer. So all the photos, hundreds of them would all be under one date.
is there a way to prevent this? My wife has an S10 too and her SD card just got filled and I am in the process of installing a new SD card, and moving the photos to the new one. Is there a way they can be move without losing the dates. So when I go to the Gallery, they would all be under the actual dates.
Thanks in advance.
I had that problem with mismatched WhatsApp photo dates. I solved it by using an app that fixes the modified exif dates .. Image and video date fixer https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.duong.imagedatefixer
Have the app read the filename format with the date and it'll do its work
