2. Yes
3. MIUI Eu
Mod Edit
You don't have to root your phone in order to install the Google camera and in my opinion BSG version of Gcam offer same quality as Sanity version (even better in low light), but most importantly, apk is more stable and Gcam never crashed on me.
I'm using stock rom with locked bootloader and I'm very satisfied.
Here's the link for BSG Gcam:

1. The best GCam mods are BSG mods and they are exactly for Mi8
2. No need to root your phone
3. LINK to, this moment, the best ROM archive (better than XEU ROMs)!

What's the difference between eu and ru why do you think ru is better?
There is a bit more settings and options in it...
Try it. Nothing to loose.

Ironically, we have lots of camera ports but not one from MIUI! The reason because the camera is fully embedded in Xiaomi's framework, which is only available on MIUI.
I suggest you try some of the camera ports we have available on our mods thread, they should work fine on your OP3 - however, out of my experience the latest Google Camera app seems to work the best in terms of quality and performance. Just download it from APK mirror, install it as a system app and enable camera api2. Enjoy!
I'm an Android and MIUI newb, I really try to get the hang of it, but please, can anybody tell me what I'm doing wrong here:
I want to install the apk of GCam and it just doesn't seem to work. I installed the latest version by B-S-G (MGC_6.1.021_Vc_Newlibs) and still the camera doesn't run smoothly and freezes every time I open the app.
I'm running on MIUI 10.1.1.0 stable, my device bootloader is NOT unlocked.
What am I doing wrong?
I'm not certain, but I think you need to root your phone to use Gcam properly.
But one advice: I have custom ROM in Mi 8 which had Gcam (BSG) in it. Not impressed as it is not that stable and as far as I understand, not a single Xiaomi model with Gcam can use slow motion. And I think you also lose optical zoom with it (not 100% sure about that).
I think I'll chance my ui back to miui and just de-bloat all the crap Xiaomi have put in.
I got the same problem with 10.1.1 Global Stable. Gcam is very laggy and freeze
Hm, I don't know....
The only reason I want to use it is Night Sight.
But, on the other hand, I don't want to root the phone and lose all my data.
Hello, same thing here! I'm on MIUI 10.1.1.0 global
Night sight has a VERY laggy viewfinder and pictures is not properly taken (seems to be a normal picture) and takes about 30s
I have Pie Beta 8.12.7 MIUI.EU and the last version, 1d work perfect for me.
Newest GCam Ports only working on latest Betas without problems. For the 10.1.1.0 Release you need to use the Android 8.1 versions of the GCam Port...

Thank you, that makes me hopeful.
You just need to read... you need android 9 with night mode in stock camera app. If you have that you can install latest gcams without issue and no need to do additional steps.

Sorry, but what night mode in the stock camera app? There's no such preference on my phone.
I have tried to install Gcam from LINK and it works pretty good. MGC latest with oneplus 9 xml seems to be nice.
Why OnePlus 9 though ? It doesn't have the same sensors.
I would choose the Nord 2 which is more likely.
yes i i know now but i don't know why i thought it has imx766. But bsg 8.4 v6 it is better and with hdr++. i don't get it how it works when without root. Photos are excellent. BSG 8.1 i tried with master explorer xml but not good.
I'm using bsg 8.1 and it has the better quality than other gcam modders, I have tried several XML from other phones and 3 from Nord 2 but the photos are blue and purple so I just use it now with no XML. Realme 9 pro plus xml should work too but there's none yet.
Still waiting for a custom XML for this phone. I've compared night photos with stock and they are a little more blurry. But can of course be tweaked which I don't know how.
Here is my config for GT2, for GCAM BSG 8.1; Not the final version, still tweaking it. Let me know if you give it a try! Sorry, I think I've uploaded the wrong file.

Hey thanks for the work.
Can you tell what have you changed/tweaked?
Hey!
Can anyone please post some comparison between the stock and Gcam? Been looking for ages and can't find any, thanks in advance!
Check this out and follow the steps on this website and see if the Gcam is working properly, I tried it and it is working but sometimes the app hangs!

Hi, does someone have a stable version of GCam that works flawlessly with Realme GT 2 (all lenses)?
Thank you.
Hello guys
I would like to know just in case I went back to MIUI which version I should flash , I was happy with 13.0.10 overall, but there were two annoying problems the 10 seconds warning every time an app need accessibility permission and the MIUI battery optimization which interrupted the apps and cannot be disabled in version 13
right now I am thinking to back to either MIUI 12.5.1.0 or 12.0.x what you guys suggest ? also if there is any kernel that can improve stock MIUI please let me know
Thanks in advance

For me, latest 13.0.16 EEA has been the best so far. But people have been saying latest Indonesian version is the best for them. Try it out, also for custom kernels, I don't recommend changing as that would ruin deep sleep and fast charging.
hello is there any way to flash sweet rom in my sweetin device? My device is redmi note 10 pro max with 108 mega pixel camera. Also please suggest, if i can flash the latest eu rom and do i need any modification for that.

I think any custom should be compatible with yours. Most incompatibility comes from 64mp one. Maybe some devs forgot to disable/remove NFC functionality for sweetin, in that case just don't touch that module.
Xiaomi.EU should be compatible as well

If anyone here can post a clear guideline i will be more than happy.
After countless of months being on PixelOS I want to get back to Miui. Why? Because Im rather unsatisfied with the Leica Camera port on the Nov build. And now they changed to the LineageOS camera app with the newest build. Is it even better in terms of quality?
However theres a ton of different Miui roms not being posted on here. Is there a good to go version of Miui, which is fast, stable and offers good features? Ive herad of Banana rom but I dont know if there are better ones out there.
Regards

Have you tested the Leica Camera Mod Magisk module I have posted in the Leica camera thread in the post here, also the list is available in the first post?
Version LeicaCameraMod-4.7.230121.1-GLSPALR.zip have perfectly and accurate working Sharpness / Contrast and Saturation in Pro mode. Also the pictures produced from the Photo mode are GOOD
For a best working MIUI based ROM I recommend MIUI Verse ROM link to our is available in the first post of the Leica camera thread. It's perfectly debloated, very good customization and battery life - I have extracted LeicaCameraMod-4.7.230121.1-GLSPALR.zip Magisk module from this ROM.
Personally I prefer OSS based ROMs and I'm using the latest Lineage OS v.20 available from the forum + flashed Leica Magisk module.
I see now that in the Redmi Note 10 Pro Telegram group have been announced a new version 2 of the MIUI Verse ROM, but I have tested only the v.1

Thanks alot for the fast reply!
Im going to try this on Pixel OS. However, I havent used Magisk in a long time. Seems like the category about selecting every app to hide them was removed in newer builds. Also safetynet doesnt work anymore once I used Magisk. Is there a workaround?
Hey whatsup!
Im searching for anew MIUI custom rom, which is slick, fast and resposinve. MIUI14 is slower than MIUI13 so I need some advice in what to use. theres alot of different miui custom roms Ive seen on youtube but not presented on this page.
