Yesterday I noticed the lastest update phone list that will get MIUI 11 in a few days but matter of sorrow that MI 9 is not in that list!!
Why is that?
That's because your picture is the global rollout for India.

We're in batch 2. (early november)
If cause for this is more polishing and bugs removal them it's not a biggie, at least to me!
Strange how this year's flagship gets pushed to the second batch along with phones 2 years old while last years flagship and current mid-range phones go to the front.
They're struggling with the 855 devices it seems, they don't even say it will come early november so they're definitely not even sure of that.

Just assuming they're facing some issues with sd 855 devices seeing that they're being updated later than their cheaper counterparts.

Why are we not getting any beta updates?
Beta for 3T will come after final release for 3.
Simply because there are more oneplus 3's in customers hands than 3T.....But I think they could unify now with beta 10, the timeframe is off for Nougat before end of month, with Beta 10 just dropped.
But patience is a great thing.....I'm not to fussed as I like Xposed for a few things (not currently available on Nougat) So they can take as long as they need.....

Lol, when they said all updates will be together for both devices I thought it was a consolation for 3 owners. Turns out we are the ones getting screwed!

Not sure why people is so hyped for new updates and stuff.from what i've seen on internet, there are not too many changes on android 7 than we have now on 6, except the dpi which for me seems to be a nice thing to have, but not that important. you guys need to learn how to enjoy your beautiful phone, without being hyped for the updates. If they release early, it will be full of bugs and then you will curse them.better wait 1-2 or 3 months more and fix all those issues, instead of receiving a faulty update which will ruin my beautiful 3t experience.

They themselves ask us to never settle.
I basically want a very stable nougat. I really like this new OS. Besides, Google assistant is also good to have.

Yes, but they also said, that beta for 3T will start after stable release for 3.
Should we expect Android 9 to come to the Note9 faster than previous updates on notes due to project Treble? Is that thing actually doing anything? The Note8 took FOREVER to get Oreo. Was that a Project Treble phone too? If so, I guess I should anticipate waiting until like February/March again, which is a shame for a flagship phone like this. I'd be pleased if it was out before 2019 begins. That's more than enough time I think.
What do you guys think?

I wouldn't expect anything. Different but what do I know. The note 8 wasn't a treble device though.
I doubt you will see Pie before March April time frame.

That would be worse than the Note8 Oreo time frame! It had better be better than THAT! Haha.
Good to know that the Note8 wasn't Treble. I was not aware. That's encouraging!

Exactly, 8.1 has been out six months or so and I thought treble would make those smaller updates more timely.
Dont expect update on this for a while. One of the reason why im holding on this phone. Samsung extradegy is always release their new flaship with the updated OS while leaving other phone behind. We wont see android pie on the note 9 until after the GS10 release in march (or so) with pie include has the new OS. Samsung will just release security patches every 2 or 3 month until this.

Somewhere in that neighborhood, yeah. It would be cool if the same happened on the Note9!
treble might provides updates a bit faster but I have had the galaxy s3, s5, s7e,s8 and now note 9 and updates were always very late and I think it would always be like that. maybe faster with treble but won't ever get updates as fast as others and we are going to wait months but I am sure no one has bought the note 9 or samsung phones for the fast updates ^^
After all the hulalbaloos and deep dives, lately I've been pronouncing it as "project trouble" for Galaxy flagships.
Working Pie GSI Rom for S9+
Since the hardware is exactly the same, will it work with Note 9?
<The guy in the video claims it should work on the Note9 too>

i have stopped myself from getting samsung since years ago due to the poor software updates. And i do not expect note 9 to be faster than any predecessors. i would still be alright if note 9 will never get Android Pie till 2020 (or neveR). Thats samsung and people should have expected that. Reasons i got myself the device was due to the 5 pillars of smartphone which Note9 did well, go watch the video by mkbhd.
This is really good news! Already, there is a Pie version of S9+ with Samsung Experience 10! It may be in its infant stages, but as the article mentions, that's at least a couple months faster than the last cycle (to Oreo), and this seems like a larger update.

Last year, I remember there was even a beta program for the S8.

I'm pretty sure that last year the registration for the S8 Beta program began the first week of November and the first official beta release was just after that (I think around the 5 November or something like that).
Here, we have just a leaked firmware, around 1 month earlier than last week official beta. So don't get too excited.
Edit : I did a quick search and I find that the second beta firmware was released on the 10th of November last year.
https://www.google.fr/amp/s/www.sam...-android-8-0-oreo-beta-firmware-released/amp/
So, I really doubt things will be quicker this year.
Well if the Pie update is indeed released in January, then that would be a pretty big improvement in my world (especially with how much more significant of an update this is)! Project Treble for the win?
Anyone think we'll get any updates now that the 'S' versions of the phone have been released?
Or shall the regulars just be forgotten?
In my eyes it's a total joke.. they are releasing a new phone before they fixed the firmware of the last one wtf is this.

Well, the new phone was announced shortly after the original, to be honest. It's because the new chip was released.
That being said, their updates are few and far between and barely scratch the surface of the issues. Especially given that the global version is missing a ton of things over the Chinese one.
It's a missed opportunity....
OnePlus conquered a part of the smartphone world because of their amazing hardware, coupled with great software support and supporting the modding community.
Nubia could go the same way if they would've spend more time on their software support, instead of spitting out great devices with poor software...

But have you seen the Chinese version? This is supposed to be a gaming phone. The Chinese version is more of a gaming phone than this one that is essentially just a fast phone with air triggers and crappy software

You know what, I can't argue. It was less than $400, and from China
I got 6 OTA software updates since i got the device. Last one was after the official launch of the 3S.
Anyone looking forward to the new UI update? I can wait but I also welcome a new way to navigate through the system.
Can't wait for the One UI 2, but probably gonna hate the back button implementation in android 10.
Don't hold ur breath. Probably won't see the update till spring.

I've read that beta will come soon... Like for pie, we can expect that someone extract firmware and upload for those that can't join the beta.. ?
I believe we will get the new UI sooner than later, closer to the end of the year but hey it's there
Also I want to add Samsung has truly removed the whole they (meaning Sammy)will not update their phone which is not the case. My Elite9 was last year's flag shipped and reports say Sammy has been working for a while now just couldn't confirm it. Well, bring on change. All the other big changes in the would I can't create a poll for that

The beta will only be for the Exynos chips. SD won't get a beta. It's just like last year all over except this year the Note 9 is the Note 8. They wanna sell Note 10s not update the old ones, it's the holidays.

A little bird at sammobile tells us that Note 9 is getting the 10 beta this week, although from Korean sources, might be for the Korean variant.
Just stop. USA SD chips won't see the beta. Let it go

Can't really blame the lack of updates on Luna New Year, Corona or 10 series release because Mi 9T Pro has received 2 updates since December, what's going on? Not even a scrap of news or rumor of a update anytime soon.

You'd think China rom would get updates more frequently given Xiaomi is a Chinese company but no, eea, global even Indian version Raphaelin k20 pro is getting updates but not us. It's disappointing, China rom imo is the best after debloating and if you ignore that space after apostrophe when using English and lack of security updates.

Hey mate just wanna let you know if u don't know already that about 2 days ago they released 11.0.7 China stable, no news, nothing in all the telegram channels I'm in, nothing in updater app only found out by browsing through eu.miui sourceforge. No it's not EOL, Xiaomi are still releasing regular beta Chinese ROMs for this phone. Unfortunately this is the same with almost all manufacturers, once the initial round of serious bugs have been fixed, stable branch updates come at a glacial pace. Even though Google have recently tried to tie in manufacturers to guaranteed updates for x years, in order to get Google certification, we still do not see this happening from most manufacturers beyond the first 6 -12 months. This is why I first started, with the original Samsung Galaxy S, and continue to use, custom ROMs.
