After I updated my XZ2 to v. 52.0.A.11.3 (October update), the ability to use USB OTG on my phone has been broken ever since.
I have been using USB-C card reader everyday even before I bought this phone. I tested that my card reader is not broken, it works flawlessly on my girlfriend's Samsung devices as well as on my laptop.
Is there anyone else having the same issue after the update and how can I fix it? Thanks.
Also updated to October update. I had no issue with my OTG cable + usb flash drives / usb card reader. Maybe its specific to your card reader.

My card reader brand is Ugreen. When I plugged it into my phone, I can't tap the USB notification to explore or unmount like I always do. I am wondering why it only happens with XZ2 not other devices and only after this update for me.

Does anyone who has taken the 5.0.2 update also have a Meenova sdcard reader? My pure edition is still on 5.0 and the Meenova or any sdcard reader plugged in through otg does not work. USB drives plugged in through the otg cable work just fine.
Everything was working well on my phone with my micro SD USB otg reader. Recently when I plug it in, my turbo either resets or doesn't recognize it at all. Happens to anyone else? What's the fix?
I have sandisk ultra dual USB drive and it just works in my phone viq otg until recently it stopped working. Whenever I want to plug in the USB drive on my phone it just can't detect. I have tried on my sister's phone and it works fine. I have also mounted other USB drive on my phone but it still can't be detected. Anyone knows why?

Probably your USB port. Try USB cable to computer. See if that works.

I know this is late but i just had this problem on my note 5.
Try installing / SandiskMemoryZone.Apk should let you move pics and files on your phone now.

Hello, i've bought a galaxy note 5 a week ago. N920C, international version, Marshmallow 6.0.1, not rooted. I was able to get a 32gb variant only, i though that's not a problem, i will increase my storage via USB OTG with Micro SD card reader or USB Flash stick! Today i received all the parts, i've spent whole day trying to find out why it doesn't work, i've downloaded many apps to check OTG compatibility and driver condition. My device recognises the connection when i put in USB OTG cable only - when the screen is off, i connect OTG, screen lights up. Also throubleshooting apps say the same, the device knows when OTG is connected.
The occuring problem : when my phone is connected with OTG cable, i also connect my USB Flash stick / SD card reader / mouse / keyboard / another usb flash stick --> Nothing appears on the screen, file managers show nothing and the troubleshooter stops at recognised OTG cable. Other connection tests won't pass any further. Troubleshooter conclusion - "System NOT Detect USB OTG Signal"; (App name: USB OTG Checker).
After buying a decent high-end device i expect it to have availability to expand storage space via USB OTG, although it was written in phone's specification list. 90% of note 5 devices on the internet say it is working perfectly and i would like to get mine going too :|
So, when I bought my Z3 Compact it had KitKat, and OTG was working perfectly, then I updated to Lollipop when it was released, OTG stopped working. same with Marshmallow, its like it doesnt have OTG. I tried downgrading again to Lollipop and OTG worked again, but stopped working after updating to the newer ones.
After one year, i decided to buy a Z5 Compact, and the OTG on that phone is also not working. doesnt matter the software. I just updated to Nougat hoping that its fixed, but its not, still doesn't work.
P.S. I have 2 DIfferent OTG adapters, one MHL cable for TV, and 2 USB OTG Flash drives, one verbatim 3.0 32gb and one Sandisk Ultra OTG 3.0 64gb.
None of them work, I tried using the adapter to connect with an usb mouse, Nothing works. ON BOTH PHONES.
On Z5Compact i pressed on the Detect Usb device, doesnt detect anything.
Can anyone help me?
