Nexus 7 hardshell with kickstand?

Has anyone seen a Nexus 7 hardshell case with kickstand.... similar to http://www.amazon.com/Seidio-CSK3SS...e=UTF8&qid=1343409737&sr=8-29&keywords=seidio ? Why is every case I have seen some sort of folio?

You get what you pay for.
I used to buy those cheap $3 cases for my phone... and found that I was buying a new one practically every 3 or 4 weeks... so I broke down and just got the otterbox, and haven't bought a new one since...

NICE! Now if they only have one that ships to the states. This is exactly what Im looking for. I thought I liked their iPoo looking case before but this one is WAY better.

Never been a fan of Otterbox.... I find their cases too bluky and overkill on the protection. I have been using the Seidio Active case for over a year now and have had 0 issues as well. I only paid like $20 bucks as well. I just got email confirmation from Seidio that they are in production of an Active Case for the Nexus 7.

I had the red Active Seidio case for my Kindle Fire. I loved that thing! A little bulky but protected the corners well IMO.

the pink is cute but the kickstand looks very cheap and only works one way.
my perfect case would be one that has a rotating adjustable height kickstand.The case should be hard shell and cover the front to protect the screen then be able to pull off and snap on the back to use as a stand..and store the screen cover.. I scratch the screen protector in my purse..
anyway great finds guys..

Amazon has it in black. Debating on getting that or a plain fosmon tpu, the one that has the "x" on the back since I have a belkin stand that I love and works well.

The prices are a little higher, but it's a relief to see some nice looking cases other after the zillions of horrible $10 faux-leather portfolio ones. I'm not sure which one I'll get yet, but I'm getting tired of the stock grey rubber one I got with the N7.

Ive been looking for one as well in particular a vertical holster not one of the horizontal ones.
Managed to find one on ebay but its a cheap fabric version from china which it will take like a month to get here.

Crap! If only I've seen this thread a day sooner!! I've been looking for a leather case with swivel holster and went with some hard gel case + holster combo! Arrgghhh

I got this case from ebay,it might meet your needs. It's relatively thin (thinner than I expected). I really like the case. It's design requires a belt, it won;t just clip on you your pants without a belt.

I think both or nice depending on your use, but like the first one for thinness and everyday carry (with Belt). The second is good when I don't have a belt, I can clip them to my shorts when running. Best of all their cheap enough that can get both.

Note 1 pouches work. I tried a few in vegas. Waiting on one to ship from ebay now. Will update when it arrives.

I , order a seido not paying attention at the time you needed a case with it .. So when i recieved it I modified it .. I measured and cut small pieces of the soft part of velco and put one on each side of the bottom of the holster and one on the top that has the spring that you move with your finger ... And one piece on one side and 2 peices one on top of the other to fill in the extra space and make it fit snug .. And it works great no problems .. you can put one on top of the other as needed to make it fit snug ... hope this helps you out ...

I had this PDair case left over from my old Note 1, but my Note 2 fits just fine in it. Very good purchase!
Edit: Looks like PDair has an updated version just for the Note 2 as well

I bought this on ebay for my epic touch and thought it would be cool to share with xda, check it out ... It's a Otterbox Note 2 Defender Case (look-a-like)

it has all the features of the defender case except the Clear protective membrane on touch screen or the Ratcheting belt clip holster...
I drop my phone once from getting out the car and it was on lap, the case protected the phone perfect, no scratch or hard impact...
Just sharing ... its not otterbox but its something cheap and it protects
The quality is equal to otterbox, I had Defender cases on my other devices and this is equivalent... the seller has 4-5 different colors, I got mines in 4-5 days

Does it have the foam on the inside of the hard plastic like the Otterbox?

It's funny, the look-a-likes for most the big name brands: otterbox, ballistic, seidio all have counterparts that look almost identical to them design wise and perform nearly up to par, but at at most 1/4 of the retail price.

does this case have port covers like the otterbox?

That type of black rubber looks like it will attract dust/lint.

Is this case easy to remove from the phone? Had one on order already just waiting for it to be shipped.

Had this case on my gs3 for 2 days then removed it. Its a bad fit. Holes dont line up. Rubber feels like a cheap dog toy. There is no padding on inner layer so it will scratch your phone. Bulkier then a defender. Its harder to take off then a defender. Just a bad case imo

I've been rocking mine for a week now. Bad fit but I overcame that by adding black velvet tape I had for my home theater screen border. This helps it fit better and helps keep it from scratching my phone. The case still creaks when you handle it but not as badly. It's heavy. But I like it more than I hate it. I love portrait and landscape kickstand modes. Lint magnet, yes. But nothing I can't blow off by blowing hard with my mouth, as filthy as that sounds.

The buttons originally lined up perfectly and we're extremely easy to press, which is a good thing. But since I added my velvet spacer, sometimes I have to fight to press the side buttons accurately. In the end, I'm loving this case still. And no, mine came with no plus for the ports. Not sure if it was supposed to but thought it was.

I think the best part is it has all the features of the defender case except the "Clear protective membrane" on touch screen ... I think since were using a stylus ... a screen protector will be better then the loose "Clear protective membrane"

It's not like it's permanently attached to the otterbox...you can pull it out if you wanted to. Done it many times. And the s-pen works fine through screen protectors. It's not your typical stylus. I will continue to wait for the real thing personally.
And it doesn't have all the features...no port covers and no holster.

My roomate, my phone, my GF's sisters phone, her dad and her mom have this case. It is very good. I can post pictures if you want. It is just like the S3 Otterbox. Love it! Buy it.

I got that same style case for my Galaxy S3. The case is quite nice but the kickstand was so flimsy that it broke in just a day.

I order the kickstand, just want it, I'm in the bed and watching a movie...but I have also got this real slim case from ebay for like $1.50 cent....that just protect from wear and tears and normal use.

This one is slowly becoming my favorite. It's slim, it has a kickstand, the kickstand is designed in a way it provides a great way to hold the phone (like a flygrip), it fits perfectly in my Seidio holster, it has a bit of a lip by the screen for worry-free face down placement, it has a great texture for grip and it doesn't show fingerprints.
I usually buy my cases with a big discount in order to resell them after I "test" them. In this case though I paid regular price at the Verizon store ($20) and I'm probably keeping it as my daily case.

Yeah. It makes the phone huge but I work outside in some pretty rough conditions sometimes.....that's when this case reports for duty.

It's fairly slim though I wouldn't call it a "slim" case. It slides in the pocket easily but I mainly use it with it's holster.
I bought it because I love the color but this is probably one I'll be reselling because it shows fingerprints easily, the two piece vertical design has issues with locking into place (some find it too hard to remove while others, including me, have an issue with how easily it opens up), and the lip is a little too large.

Im using the case mate pop right now. Loving it so far

That looks pretty nice actually. Very similar to the Seidio Surface with a twist on kickstand. I like it.

Looking for a hip pouch/holster case...

Been driving myself crazy trying to find something like this and keep coming up empty. Basically I'm looking for a holster case where the belt loop(s) are on the top of the case, not the middle, so the top of the case sits at or below the belt line. These cases are exactly what I'm looking for but all of them are for <5" phones:

I've done that plenty, the problem is I'm looking for something with the point of attachment to the belt in a different location that most cases... Please allow my terrible mspaint job to illustrate this.
I've about given up on the concept though, I think I'm going to have to jump ship to a Moto X or a Nexus 5 once they're available on the google play store. I love my Note 2 but it's just slightly too big for what I want to do with it

Attachment point seems higher than normal.
I believe it's hard to find because it makes it awkward to clip such a large device from the top. It makes it un-leveled compared to the center mounting point.

Here's the phone in the holster, on my belt. It's not eh... as gunslinger/drop style as it could be, but it keeps it out of the way well enough. If you're putting this on a standard sized belt (1.5-1.75 inches wide), you can probably turn it sideways.

The buckle retention clips in and there's a bungee that's attached to that. Very easily manipulated to hold even larger phones. I have no doubt this could hold ANY of the upcoming phones, since this is designed to also hold a Motorola XTS5000 radio.

@apallohadas: that is really badass!!! Looks much better on that belt than the other vertical pouch, but i think this one will be harder to take out? Although it will stay more secure inside when you are on a chase!

Takes a bit more finger manipulation than just slapping a velcro tab for sure. But I broke the stitching on the other pouch going over a short fence. Just had a foot chase the other day with this baby and it was solid
The obvious downside of this one is that it provides ZERO water/sand protection. It's literally just a holster. The inside surface is a hard nylon cloth, but both gorilla glass and/or a tempered glass screen protector has a higher hardness than nylon, so I'm not worried about the screen getting scratched.
If someone is working a construction site, beach, somewhere with lots of sand, this is not a good buy. For LEO's and the general public, just awesome.
