Can anyone suggest me a Custom ROM for Sony Xperia xz1 Compact that gives me the possibility to install the gcam?
do not believe there are any solutions here. have been searching for over a year
sony has not released their blobs to the public so there is no way to get raw image access

Damn, i read that with custom rom with different kernel we can access.
I saw a reddit thread a few days ago and tried the AOSP extended of Pie yesterday. However, I just couldn't find a working GCam for Pie, and my phone sometimes freeze with this ROM. Maybe u can try it!
I couldn't paste the link toward the reddit thread because the policy of xda, but you can find it by googling "XZ1c on AOSP extended AOSP reddit"
Edit:
I read some discussion today and realized that AOSP 8.1 (Oreo) support RAW, which is necessary for GCam's HDR+ function, but I'm not sure if 9 and 10 does. Are there anyone who can give me an answer???
And according to this, the ROM I tried yesterday is not a real AOSP, so ..

Is there a Lineage or custom 7.1 rom for the ZUK Z2 Pro? I'm sorry but I really hate the factory Android 7.0 update rom
The Z2 Pro will be getting official Lineage support, probably first builds will be rolling out within this week. It will either be on the Lineage homepage (https://lineageos.org) or on the maintainer's build page (https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=144110&sort_by=date&sort_dir=DESC)

Your getting an error 7 right? that means you have the wrong trwp version. Here's the right twrp version if you want to install custom roms: twrp-3.0.2
we had a working build a few weeks ago, but it had a major camera issue, it would physically damage your camera and flashing back to stock roms wouldn't fix it. I have fixed the camera issue and updated my sources since then but i can't get a boot now.
The biggest thing that changed is that I reverted my phone back to official stock ZUI 2.3 in order to get the latest ZUI 2.5 OTA. So i'm trying to figure out what changed and what needs to be fixed.
It would be nice if I could get some help, it seems like i'm the only one working on this now.

Sorry I got mixed up between the Z2 Pro and Vibe Z2 Pro while skimming the official device lists. There is only unofficial atm.

Hi, are you still working on this device? I don't see activities on your github since months. I'm trying to understand if there are working nougat device trees for this device.
Edit: nevermind, found another source
There is official AEX now
im abit confused as there are so many roms listed in the t-mobile section AND the general lg g4 section which ALSO seems to be for H811?
I'm mainly looking into the most stable, fastest rom that has the best RAW camera support. And I understand that if I were to stick with stock based roms (eg. Imperium) that would be best, but at the same time it is not nougat. And if I want Nougat, I can go with Lineage OS or Dirty Unicorns, however would they lose RAW camera support (how is the quality?).
Thanks!

thats prety much it you got it all down.
but i think i heard that lightroom mobile camera has raw / also check for proshot camera see if it takes waw pics. search for stock CM picture quality i posted a pic with stock based and dirty unicorns somewhere.
I don't think the problem is with Nougat; instead the problem is with using a camera app that doesn't use the Camera2 API. I just tried taking some RAW shots with Open Camera on Lineage 14.1 and it seems to work fine.

How did you unlock?
If you want that camera quality you'll have to choose a lg based rom
Try freedom or despacito...I think only they are only nougat lg ROMs.... Rest will be marshmelllow lg based
Yes any other custom ROM camera quality won't be as good
I was just surfing random android stuffs on internet and eventually found the "Project Treble"!!
https://forum.xda-developers.com/project-treble
After then I installed the app known as "Project Treble" in app store, this app tells you if your device is capable for this project or not. And good thing for us that XZ1 Compact is supported.
I have unlocked my bootloader, so there is no chance for getting any OTA updates.
Well, I was never worried about not getting OTA updates because XZ1 Compact is already a year old and sony will eventually stop rolling the updates after sometime, but unlike sony, Project Treble seems more promising for regular security updates and many more other things that sony will probability never provide.
As for example look at this thread : https://forum.xda-developers.com/pr...device-development/rom-aosp-extended-t3821934
Here you can see that they are providing kernel 4.9, while we, who are still on kernel 4.4 even after latest pie update.
And this also : https://www.xda-developers.com/google-test-android-q-project-treble-gsi/
Keeping all these apart, I just wanted to ask if any XZ1 Copmact user has tried this "Project Treble" or not??
And if yes then please share your reviews here.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers
There's various posts about Project Treble in this device's forum. I'll leave the searching for you.
I didn´t try with the latest Pie firmware yet.
With Android 8.0 as base I was able to run almost every Treble-ROM based von Android 8.1, Android 9.0 bootloops. May be it is working together with the latest Pie rom as well.

Because project treble doesnt affect the stock rom functionality you must do the same as if you were on stock. Install drm fix and Magisk in twrp and permissive kernel patch via Magisk when in Android.
I suggest AOSP from the creator himself or resurrection Rom.
I have got no idea about Volte

Is my SODP based LineageOS Port still needed or are the users moved to PixelExperience or the stock based LineageOS which both are official and receive OTA updates?
If yes, I will EOL the SODP based LineageOS port and focus on other stuff.
So xz2 got official Lineage os.Can we expect also for xz3?

Sadly to get an official LOS based on stock it is needed to own the XZ3 as a hardware.
Is my LOS port really needed?
Then we need to find a solution, I would like to focus on a single rom where a version for the xz2/xz2c/xz3 is needed and the xz2/c part is now replaced by the official supported & stock based LOS.
Just because I like variety and hate to reinvent the where if I build unofficial builds for a ROM where an official support exist.
There is also AOSP and the official Pixel Experience with OTA updates.
24.08.2020
Since we have now an official LineageOS based on stock, this ROM would be double work.
So I stop the LOS port.
(Sadly unless a dev owns a XZ2P or XZ3 these phones won't be supported in the official stock based LineageOS)
The only difference between the stock and SODP editions are:
SODP will get GCAM support later and has camera2API level 3.
stock will never support GCAM apps and has the limited stock camera2API level.
SODP uses a 4.14 kernel and probably get mainline support later.
stock uses the stock 4.9 kernel and will probably be there forever.
SODP targets to use as much open source as possible.
And LiveDisplay doesn't work in my SODP version.
PS: After the September exams in the new semester I look for a ROM replacement for the sake of diversity.
It's good to have a choice and with the available official supported SODP based Pixel Experiment, we have a ROM which sadly forces you to use the full GAPPS (Google Apps package).

I think it's still good to buy.
I bought the asia 6GB ram edition.
In the future it will be part of the mainline kernel, so it won't need closed source vendor drivers anymore, which makes it future proof.
Hello Sir,
I have sony Xperia zx3. Model SOV39 (japanies rom) updated to official android 10.
Kindly help me with the following things.
Please give me step by step. How to proceed with to install a custom rom which is very stable(everything working) because i will do it only once. I need a pixel based custom rom because i want to have the unlimited storage option in it... . To store my photos... And also working gcam for best photos.. and a stable room with good performance and battery life.
Also kindly tell me which custom recovery will be best for my phone and best safe way to flash it to my phone and also safe way to unlock my phone's bootloader.... Kindly provide step by step procedure according to my requirements... I will be very thankful to you...
Please recommend me a ROM to daily.
In previous phones I've enjoyed Pixel Experience, PixelPlus and am a big fan of LineageOS.
Of course, I'd prefer to keep fast-charging functionality and be on the latest android.
Thanks!
Hello.
You can try ArrowOS 12.1(Android 12).

This has nothing to do with the stability of a custom rom, but with the hardware of your smartphone.
With every batch Xiaomi change hardware. Not every custom rom can or will follow these changes.

They are all in gcam, los and kernel threads in this forum.
Bumping this thread to ask the same question in light of new circumstances (my apologies):
I've been looking through all these threads lately to find a custom ROM for my usage before unlocking the bootloader, but recently I noticed that almost every Android 12 ROM is discontinued so the devs can work on A13 or for other reasons, so now I can't find any threads that have that in context.
In other words my question is, what is a stable enough ROM now that most are discontinued? Taking into context the spoofing no longer works in the latest ArrowOS 12.1 build which causes extreme battery drain by the Google Play Services.
If it helps, the uses/needs I basically seek are mainly Camera/Audio/Battery. I dont care for gaming one bit in my personal case.
Thank you and sorry for repeating the same question. I just want to drop MIUI and can't find an answer.
