I tried to do root and it brick my phone.
After i tried to put the latest global rom with mi flash pro, the process is fnished but, this message appear. My bootloader is locked and i was tried EDL (testpoint) and not work.
I tried unlock bootloader and it does'nt work too.
When you flashed fastboot ROM it was flashed successfully or with error? If you bootloader is locked and you get "The system has been destroyed", you usually can't flash even a fastboot ROM.
When you tried to unlock bootloader what message do you get? If it ask to wait x hours you must wait or get an account with unlock permissions.
For EDL flash, you must have account with permissions also, do you have one? If not you can find somebody on internet, they charge 12$.

Hi,
I desperately need help. I have a Xiaomi Mi5. My problem is the following. I have previously unlocked the bootloader using the code sent by Miui and have installed Lineage OS on my phone, which worked perfectly. The other day I had an idea that locking the bootloader would allow me to use Android Pay apps (currently not allowed with an unlocked bootloader) so I used the commands:
fastboot oem lock,
fastboot flashing lock,
fastboot oem relock,
As a result, my device is now locked but it won't start. I do realise that I need to reflash the ROM but I cannot unlock the phone. As I cannot start the phone I also cannot access the developer setttings in the phone and therefore I cannot put it in debugging mode.
The device is recognised when it's in fastboot mode and when I use adb command: fastboot oem unlock, I get the response "token verification failed". I have also tried to flahs the TWRP.img but I get the same message that the phone is locked. I have tried to use the Miflash unlock tool again but when I try to sign in I get "network error". I have seen somewhere in the forum that it's because the MI account no longer recognises my phone (as it now only has Lineage installed).
Can anyone help?

Thanks, I tried this but I get the same response: FAILED (the device is locked)
Try updating via Mi Suit.

Warning: Pls don't attempt to lock your bootloaders with TWRP or any custom recovery's installed. It might just result in an unrecovereable hard brick. Bootloaders should always be locked with stock recoveries.

Good luck.
Hi all,
I have searched for a solution to this but haven't come across anyone witht the same issue.
I bought a Mi 9 from China which came with the Global rom loaded. I found out that I couldn't use Google Pay unless I rooted with Magisk.
So I went through the process of trying to flash Magisk through fast boot (didn't work - boot loop to recovery) then with TWRP (didn't work - boot to TWRP and freeze).
I then used Miflash to flash the latest global stable version. Unfortunately I didn't notice it was defaulted to "clean all and lock" when I flashed. When the device restarted, it loaded into recovery and was no longer unlocked. The message is "This MIUI version can't be installed on this device". But I can't flash again, because its locked.
I downloaded the MiUnlock app and after running it get the message "Current account is not bound to this device" with instructions to change settings in developer options. But I can't access the developer options because the MIUI isn't loading.
So, yeah. I think I'm in trouble. Any suggestions?
If your device was global version i would say flash fastboot ROM with Mi flash tool or using script flash_all.bat. Then bound your account to your device, then try to unlock recovery. But i red that in some cases Chines version is not so simple, so search, how to flash fastboot ROM on Chines device and if there is some problems with this.
You will need adb and fastboot installed on your pc.
Upd. Man it's all over the internet, just search "This miui version can't be installed on this device". There is a fix with opening the device and so on... but if i was you i would try to contact the seller of the device and ask him to use his account to unlock recovery. My be using teamviewer or similar software.
you bought in china with global rom and it was unlocked already ? because if you tried twrp then the device must be unlocked (bootloader)
then it was a China Version with unlocked bootloader and global rom. you used then the miflash and locked the bootloader again and flashed the global rom...
so you bricked your device....
if found this in an other forum:
"Dear customers, our service provides services in a remote format, if you are from another country .
If you need Mi Authorized EDL Account or you need my services for the restoration of the brick phones and the account is deleted, mi, if you forgot , contact me on my contacts : WhatsApp +7967 777 15 98"

Thanks! I searched as suggested and am trying a fix from the MIUI forum "[FIX] unbrick your BL LOCKED phone without xiaomi id authorization!!!". If that doesn' work I'll go with the team viewer option. Cheers!

Read carefully and report
1. Try to hold down the buttons vol down and power, see if : fastboot devices sees it. If so XiaoMi Tool will restore it. If not do the same try recovery vol up + power. Do adb devices and see if anything shows up. Worst case you'll have to open the phone up and connect the EDL pins together and it will flash anything. I use minimal ADB and Fastboot phone plugged via USB cable into the computer and run those commands.
2. Fully bricks their device here is the unbrick factory method
https://c.mi.com/thread-1479882-1-0.html
that's connecting EDL pins with the phone case removed for a phone that doesn't boot at all
3. https://youtu.be/8mW0JzKow7E
here's the exact EDL test point required on Mi9
if you can't boot or recognize the device at all via fastboot or ADB. If this doesn't work nothing will...
But it will work, that's what the factory does. Obviously the last resort.
any success?
So, i got a second hand mi 5 last week. Seller told me that it had software issue and I thought I could fix it. Because it was really cheap.
The device was stuck on bootloop when I had it. But I was able to open mi recovery and fast boot menus. i tried many options to flash a stable stock rom. The most useful one was to flash via XiaomiTool v2. It says successfully flashed and reboots but stuck on bootloop every time. (Tried few times already).
the bootloader is locked and no mi accounts binded to the device. Computer detects the device successfully.
I tried adb commands as well, but since bootloader is locked i couldn't get any further to flash or wipe.
Any useful suggestions?
Can you still access to fastboot mode?
If so, you need fastboot oem unlock to unlock bootloader first, before anything else.
Hi.
I've purchased china xiaomi 12 pro with india rom installed and unlocked bootloader and tried to flash global rom and lock bootloader.
once I turned on my device this massage was appeared: "this miui version can't be installed on this device".
then I tried to unlock bootloader in order to flash china rom but the mi unlock showed a massage for entering an account in "developer options > Mi Unlock Status".
since then phone stuck at fastboot and wont turn of. even when i force it to turn off it restarts in fastboot mode!
how can I unlock bootloader without access to developer options or flash stock rom?
problem has been solved by a auth account owner.

I tried all searched ways but no reasult. i tried downgrade with rename rom method, try xiamitoolv2 no reasult.
Now pleas can anyone help me to unlock the bootloader with any idea. It will be really appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Can you still boot into fastboot mode?
If so,
1. For newer devices (2015 and higher):
fastboot flashing unlock
2. For older devices (2014 and lower)
fastboot oem unlock
I had the same problem a month ago and finally solved, you should make some changes to a file of the official ROM released by Xiaomi and re-flash it by activating the Qualcomm 9008 mode, in which you can ignore the bootloader lock
