[Resolved] Galaxy S10 System Update (OTA) Greyed Out ? (Sprint)... - Samsung Galaxy S10 Questions & Answers

[Resolved] (By resolved I mean that a factory reset corrected the issue, although it wasn't the desired option!)... [Edited]
Hey everyone.
Problem with Galaxy 10 (Sprint) downloading OTA updates. (Greyed out / disabled).
Stock phone, not rooted.
I have two of these phones, one update is OK but the other is disabled. Not sure what I did or what happened but need help if possible.
Settings, Updates, option to check/download updates, and option to use wifi are both greyed out and disabled... I have tried updating prl, profile, and hard reset... Tried update on/off option in developer options. Nothing. Two days searching with no info I can find on the web.
Any ideas ?
Thanks!
[Resolved - Edited] - Factory reset, Power+Bixby+VolUp boot, clear cache, factory reset.

In settings under general management have you tried "reset network settings" ? Have you tried clearing the cache partition? How about booting in safe mode to see if the options become available.

MrMOOn, no I did not try Odin...
Tel864, yes I tried all that except safe mode. Safe mode was a disaster on my other phone so I stay far away. ... I also chatted with Samsung and Sprint (pointless).
I ended up just factory resetting the phone.
It works now.
Thanks for the suggestions!

[Q] Wi-Fi issue. I have tried everything mentioned on the forums.

So I have an issue where I try to toggle on my Wi-fi and it stays stuck on "Wifi turning on." I've done a few factory resets and it seems to fix it for about a day but it just breaks right after that. When I select the option in the quick settings bar, the icon appears as a faded grey-ed out color and stays that way for a long time and can't find any networks.
A little bg info: I bricked my phone with safestrap while accidently writing over the default boot slot and then resurrected it with an sm-n900a 4.4.2 rom and the latest version of Odin. Everything works fine except for the wi-fi. Worked fine for about 3 days and then broke. I've tried resetting and not enabling auto-configure for wifi and also I've disabled the auto network switch option. I am out of ideas.
Try reflashing the stock firmware using the 4 Odin files here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2838117
This will erase internal memory and give you a complete refreshed 4.4 stock rom. You can then root, safestrap, etc....
If you have Wi-Fi trouble after flashing the stock files you may have hardware issues.
I see my problem. The files I was using before were of an earlier version. Without knowing exactly how to search for the 4.4 Odin files, I couldn't fix it. Hopefully this fixes it. Thank you very much for pointing me in the right direction!

[HELP] Wi-Fi problem after mm update- SM_9208

My note 5 is the duos version, imported in Romania from Taiwan (SM_9208) After updating to Marshmallow yesterday, everything worked fine except for on thing: it doesn't find my Wi-Fi network from home anymore and the only way I can connect to it is by going to,, add network " and manually inserting the ssid and PASSWORD because it doesn't appear on the available networks list. Thst means that every time I turn my wireless off and then on, I have to repeat that process.
I haven't had the chance to try any other WiFi network, but I tried with other phones to connect to the network and they found it and connected to it without any problem. Furthermore, any third party app like WiFi analyser is able to see the network.
Do you guys have any idea how I could possibly solve this?
Thank you and have a wonderful day!
Try to backup your phone and then do a factory reset.
I factory reset after update OTA and everything work perfect.
uhm... does n9208 has update for MM already? if you have links kindly share tnx in advance
I tried doing the factory reset and it still has that problem.
And I did receive the update yesterday through OTA.
Other suggestions? Thank you, guys!

First, try clearing the cache again. If it still does not work, the update may have downloaded improperly so some file are corrupted. It will continue to use the same corrupted files even if you reset. Have your tried flashing the stock Taiwan Rom using Odin?
//LATER EDIT: I finally made it work by simply changing the wireless network's name. For some reason, my phone wouldn't find the network with its default name.

Samsung SM-T813 FRP Locked WiFi Switch Greyed Out

Hi,
First, I want to say that I have been looking though many threads with similar problems but I have not found any that have worked for me. If someone could point me to the thread that will solve this problem I would greatly appreciate it.
So my situation is that tablet boots to the "Welcome! Start >" screen and when I hit Start it says "An unauthorized attempt has been made to reset your device to factory default settings. Connect to a Wi-Fi or mobile network to verify your identity." When I move the WiFi switch to "ON" it immediately goes back to "OFF".
I would like to find a way to enable the WiFi so I can enter my credentials but so far all my attempts have failed.
I am running
SAMSUNG/GTS210VEWIFIXX/GS210VEWIFI
6.0.1/MMB29M/T813XXU2APJ1
MMB29M.T813XXU2APJ1
Any attempts to downgrade to T813XXU1APF4_T813XAR1APF1_HOME.tar.md5 in ODIN v3.13 have resulted in [aboot] Fused 2 > Binary 1
Any suggestions to get my tablet up and running again would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
After installing COMBINATION_OXA_FA60_T813XXU2API1_OXAFAC_CL7807521_BoxWares.tar.md5, enabling USB debugging, and then installing stock ROM T813XXU2APJ1_T813XAR2APJ1_HOME.tar.md5 I was able to boot to the home screen and login as a guest.
However, in guest mode I cannot enable the Wifi or Bluetooth switches to ON. They just go back to OFF.
I also cannot enable Wifi as Owner so I can enter my login information.
If anyone has any ideas on how to turn Wifi back on I would greatly appreciate the help.

Reinstall the combo firmware then enter settings and factory reset.
Reinstall stock firmware.
I reinstalled the Combo Firmware, did a factory reset from settings, and reinstalled the Stock ROM but the WIFI & Bluetooth will still not enable.
I am waiting to for some other versions of Stock ROM to download and then install to see if it makes any difference.

Are you flashing the WHOLE firmware?
The full firmware I have tried installing so far I have gotten from Updato: T813XXU2APJ1_T813XAR2APJ1_HOME.tar.md5, T813XXU2APK6_T813XAR2APK6_HOME.tar.md5, & T813XXU2BQD1_T813XAR2BQD1_HOME.tar.md5 which was the firmware I had updated to before downgrading to APJ1.
The tablet has only been used a couple of times so I find it hard to believe the chip is damaged. I bought it as an open box from a retailer with no signs of use.
It was after I did a FRP when I couldn't remember my password when all the trouble started.
Is there some firmware that consists of BL, AP, CSC files that is used during factory setup that I can install?

I appreciate your help but nothing I do will apparently get the Wi-Fi working again.
I am giving up for now and am considering replacing the motherboard.

software update notification removal

So when I downgraded back to oreo before I had chance to go into the software update settings and turn off auto update it has already downloaded the update ready to install.
Now I have the annoying notification which keeps prompting me to update.
Is there a way to get rid without rooting?
If not I'll have to factory reset and change the setting before it updates.
The only way is unfortunately to factory reset and make sure to disable the auto update
Did you try installing "Package Disabler" and then disabling "Software Update" (two apps with the same name) ?

Question Hotspot problem, internet not available on Android 13

Has anyone had problems with your phone's hotspot after updating to Android 13 on ZenFone 8?
I also did a factory reset, but it didn't help.
The signal is very weak and even if you connect another device, this then can not navigate because it is internet not available.
Back to Android 12 the problem disappears.
Did you have the same problem and how did you solve it? Thank you.

I just updated to Android 13 on my Zenfone 8 today, and the hotspot settings just disappeared (at least if I navigate through the settings). If i search all settings, I can find them, but trying to turn it on does nothing.
I wonder if this is an Asus problem or an AT&T (my carrier) problem.

I did all the tests, even the hard reset, nothing to do. I also tried to change mobile operator sim. It's just a bug in Android 13.
I asked Asus support, but they didn't give any answer.
Downgraded to Android 12 and that's the only way it works.

Two questions...
1. How did you try to get help from Android support? I was thinking of trying their phone support.
2. How did you downgrade? Is there a way to do with without wiping my phone and without rooting? I found a few guides about it online and they all seemed to require wiping the phone.

Oh, and also it's now taking about 7 minutes to register on the at&t network (as opposed to instantly in Android 12). How could they possibly have let this release into the wild?

Write to Asus support, you can find it on the official page. If you have registered your product, put all the data related to model and serial, only then they will move to find a solution to this bug.
For downgrade, you will always find in the support page for your model the firmware to download. Once downloaded, enter it in the internal folder of the phone and you will see that the update notification appears above.
Click and install. Obviously you lose all the data, because it resets to the factory state.

Thanks for the info. It wasn't obvious to me about the phone resetting - for all i knew, Asus might have an intelligent downgrade process that preserved the user data. Too bad they don't.

I also had this issue of the hotspot function disappearing after the Android 13 update. I followed the step to downgrade to 12. This worked, but before I could finish setting up my phone again, it was already automatically updating to 13. I reinstalled 12, and waited to connect to wi-fi to get things restored. Shortly after connecting to wi-fi again, the 13 update started again. I paused the update and then enabled developer options and disabled automatic system updates there, but I am not able to disable auto-updates in the regular system update settings. Is root required to disable this menu option? I have not rooted my phone and would prefer not to, if possible. Any suggestions?
Edit: So far, the phone hasn't resumed the auto-update overnight or following a couple restarts of the phone. The notification remains and I occasionally get prompts to continue the paused update, but I am able to ignore them. I guess I can live with it as is, but if anybody has any other ideas, please share. Thanks.
Edit: Today, I woke to find that the 13 update has downloaded and will install on reboot. I rebooted and let it complete the update to 13. Then, I downgraded to 12 once again. This time around, the option to disallow automatic updates was not greyed-out in system update settings. I disallowed auto-updates. The notification saying the update to 13 is available remained, this time, I was able to dismiss it. I don't know what to think about the previous issues I had, but it seems to have resolved it now.

I didn't see the Andorid 13 update even before the downgrade, I searched for it and installed it if I wanted it.
Adding to my posts above from February 18:
I was able to remain on Android 12, retaining the Wi-Fi hotspot functionality, until this morning. I awoke to find a software update notification message, giving two options: update or later. The message also stated that if I pressed later, it would continue with the update in 30 minutes. I rebooted the phone, and the update notification returned, however, lacking the 30 minute warning. A short while later, the phone began to automatically download the update, despite the option in settings disallowing auto-updates being ticked. I force-stopped the system update app, and it stopped downloading the new update. After a short while, it completed the android 13 system update download anyway. I decided to give the 13 update a try again, seeing that there was a smaller update added to the Asus Bios and Firmware download page on March 16th. I proactively backed up my data, knowing that I would likely need to downgrade to 12 again shortly to regain hotspot functionality. I rebooted to apply the base 13 update; no hotspot functionality, as expected. I then downloaded and applied the March 16th (WW-33.0210.0210.269) update OTA; still no hotspot functionality. I plan to downgrade again to Android 12, but I question how long I will be able to use it before another automatic update to 13 is forced upon me by Asus. Does anyone have any advice as to how to activate the hotspot on 13 or a way to guarantee that 12 will not be auto-updated to 13?
Edit: For anyone who might be having the same issue, here is what I have tried and so far, seems to be working. After downgrading to 12, I did not connect to internet during the initial phone setup process. When I did, the phone would already start automatically downloading the 13 update even before the setup process was finished. After setup, I immediately disabled automatic updates both in the regular system settings and in developer options (after enabling these, of course). I find it interesting that before, even with these two settings to disallow automatic updates in use, the automatic update would begin. The only other step I took this time was to disable my system app for system updates per the following method. https://www.xda-developers.com/disable-system-app-bloatware-android/
I understand that this method is likely used more for added bloatware than for system apps, and I questioned at first if it would even work for a system app. Still, after disabling the system update app, it shows "disabled" under its entry in the complete app list in settings, and the system update options in the settings menu are not visible anymore. The main "system" header in the settings menu does show a red dot with "1" indicating that there is something available within the submenu, but as stated there is nothing within pertaining to system updates since disabling the system update app. So far, there have been no other notifications for the 13 update as before. This system update app is easy to reenable, as shown in the link above, so if I want to download the system update later on, it is no problem. I will add to this post if this method fails, but so far, so good.
