I have successfully updated my device to Oct patch. No problem there and was using the device without any issue. But today I restart my device and it just doesn't get booted up. No when I try to manually power it up, Android one screen shows for a 2 seconds, then bootloader unlock message comes up for 4-5 seconds, then again Android one screen comes up for 2-3 seconds and then it turns off.
I have tried fastboot continue command, tried to connect the device to power source for about 2 hours, triggering restart of the device many times. Manually restarted the device so many times. But nothing helps as of now.
Anyone have some other idea to successfully boot again?

Hi
Got an HTC for my son 2 weeks back. He used it for a day, but then got an update. After downloading the update, I restarted at the prompt and got a message that the download was corrupted. Switched off the phone and after sometime, restarted, but without the update. I then downloaded it again and got it running for him.
A week later and the phone just crashed and switched off! Charged it and switched it on, but it just crashes and boot loops. Since my son is now not with me, I instructed him to do a reset using hardware buttons (since it does not boot and thereby allow him to do a factory reset from within the phone. I told him to:
Turn off your phone.
With the phone turned off, press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button, and then briefly press the POWER button.
Wait for the screen with the three Android images to appear, and then release the VOLUME DOWN button.
Press VOLUME DOWN to select CLEAR STORAGE, and then press POWER.
Press VOLUME UP to start the factory reset.

According to him, this too does not seem to help and it is still crashing (boot loops).
Can someone please suggest something. Problem is that to claim warranty I need him to bring the phone back (as it is a regional warranty) and the earliest he can get it to me is in about 3 months!
Thanks for any help/ suggestions
Does the phone have an unlocked bootloader and custom ROM?
If so then he needs to re flash the rom using Mike's thread:

If it's new and clean, then the bootloader will be locked. You have to manually unlock it.
Try going to fastboot and then running "fastboot erase cache".
Though most likely, you may have to take it to a repair center for them to bring it back to stock, without you having to go through the hassle; Especially since it's only 2 weeks old.
My wife's phone is completely stock, I have never rooted it or anything.
A couple of days ago, she started getting a strange notification with the android icon and something called Smith with the message that it is disabled. Her phone would reboot itself a couple of times a day and now it is stuck in a boot loop. The phone has been stuck in the loop for a couple of hours now, stopping on the white android screen for a second and shutting down, rinse and repeat.
I can get into recovery by ONLY holding down the volume key, which is kind of strange. I also cant select anything in recovery.
Any help would be appreciated, she is about to kill me and switch to an iPhone.

Follow the instructions here then. Be warned though, this will wipe everything, including internal storage.
The Smith file is some file that HTC put into the ROM that expired in mid-August. Ever since then, the app shows as expired when you reboot. Nothing you can really do about it if you are not rooted, but HTC is supposedly working on a fix that they will push via OTA.
However, it shouldn't be causing the bootloops as far as I know. If a factory reset doesn't work, then running the RUU is most likely the way to go.
Dear xdadevelopers members,
I have anHTC One m7 (GSM Version Unlocked without Providerlock)
It is rootet and Bootloader unlocked and at the moment is TWRP v.2.8.1.0 Recovery installed (before it wasCWM Touch).
It is the Stock ROM it got with which I bought it, not completely ... before rooting I did one OTA update . So it is now 4.2.2 with normal sense edition.
I am trying to resolve the problem, but with no success. So the phone starts normally until I have to enter the PIN, if I'm quick enough I can enter it successfully. Then everything looks quite normal, then only after about 5-10 seconds it goes black and reboots again, this happens all the time.
Booting into Save Mode has the exact same issue!
Recovery is working normally.
Does anyone have any idea why this might be and how I could fix it?
My guess is that it has occurred because I installed a root uninstaller tool to uninstall/disabled some of HTC's own apps, so maybe I have deleted too many of them. But that's a long time ago, it worked for weeks even after the erase with the tool (I did never a restart after), only when I then made a reboot weeks later the problem occured.

First thing you should do is a factory reset and see if its still rebooting
then return to return to 100% stock
what is your fastboot getvar all?

THanks for your help. I tried a few things now in the 10 sec I had , moved the phone to air plane mode rebooted again and since then its working normally again. I even diabled airplane mode and everything is up to normal again its running like a charm since 30 minutes. I Also got a HTC message that the phone was recovered from a problem and it would like me to send an error report (I did). But I am a bit afraid now to reboot it again, so I think I can not make the fastboot getvar all command or can I place this command without restarting and booting into the bootloader?

Helllo,
My Mi A2 can't boot into the system it keeps restarting all the time. Even when I have tried go to fastboot mode, it goes it, but after several seconds it restarts, so I can'd do anything about it.
I have tried power+up, but "no command" error.
What can I do?
Is there any solution?

It is a physical process not in software so just Google a video on YouTube so you can see the physical actions and copy it

Update:
I have replugged all the cables and while battery was drained I have turned it on again.
It worked!
I even make an update for android. But after some period of time, it started restarting and now I have the same loop.
I have unlocked the bootloader while it was working, but it doesn't help me right now at all.
Phone keeps restarting...
While it was working and charghing, some application was automatically opening and sensor started making some clicks.
When I had the same ecounter with other phones, it was battery fault.
What do you think guys?
I am also facing this issue. Sometime it reboots randomly but other times it works fine. Should I roll back to Android Pie?

Hi! I am facing a similar issue: Suddenly my phone shut off. When I wanted to turn it on, it would shut itself off after ~3 seconds of the boot screen. If I plug it to charge, it would start rebooting every 3 seconds.
I have left it charging for a long time, and at a certain point it stops doing this and shows that it is fully charged. I have tried to unplug it and turn it on after this, but I am getting the same result. Once again, charged it, and tried to turn it on while connected. It turned on, but once I unplugged it (before unlocking it) it froze .
Recovery mode does not work (same result), but fastboot works. Unfortunately I can't flash it as I can't risk losing all my data.
Having said this, I want to know more details about what has worked for you. Did you drain the battery and then connected it to charge?

That seems quite cheap. It's up to you, I guess.
If you want to solve it yourself, you can give it a try to flash it in EDL mode. I have tried it with no success yet.
Hi !
Mi cellphone worked well for one month and yesterday began restarting by itself, I tought It was a problem with the button ON; but today it gets worst, the phone doesn't restart to the menu home, it just keeps turning on in "Bison" and then it turns off, and again "bison" and turns off, here a link
I can't use the recovery mode because the times i reached it the phone turns off; there's a mode to block phone's turning off? maybe using some buttons?
Please I beg you, help.
i have got the same problem with my bison also ,on one month it was work properly bt nw restart it self every 4 seconds
can you give more information? Did you unlock the bootloader? Did you install another OS? Did you use Magisk?
Or was it a stock image with locked bootloader? And failed on its own? Its possible there was an OTA update but I cant tell with the info you supplied.
Hi, I just update the software from the provider (i think is a OTA update, a normal update).... and then the problem appears, it takes a few of days to show the bootloop; i dont do anything else.
Now im triying to flashing the rom but it's SO ****ing difficult, because the phone restarts always, but not completely.
I tried to use the default recovery mode, but the phone restarts...
I was thinking about some file to block the bootloop while flashing? it that possible?
Using the flash i just do download, and to finish the process it left just 3 files: supersu, cache and userdata, but it restaaaaarts :C ... i tried the option "upgrade firmware" but formating stops at 88% XD
I was thinking about a full format, it could be worse, no?

YES, after that loop of boot problem,it came in normal after flash by SP flash(firmware upgrage),, then problem arose again, flash secondly by SP flash(formart all and download),this time it start normal but with another problem(TEE and google unwriten key, lost of IMEIs),i decide unlock bootloader and root it by magisk (follows umidigi comunity tutorial)bt all fail,it remain loop of booting it take more than 1mins show bison last log before start and shotdown again,,,off botton respond very slow on power on.
My Bison had this same infinite boot loop problem and I found out that the problem is in the short-circuited power switch. You have to open it and disconnect the flat from the side buttons to test
