If only "that" cable doesn't work with your note 8, then use another cable. Not really a big issue. Either the cable is somehow damage or it is somehow not compatible with your phone ,which shouldn't happen often.
If none of the cables work with your phone work assuming there is no associated software bug in your phone, then the charging port is damaged. It can be easily fixed luckily.

jabra bt8010 cable replacement - HELP ME

hi
i lost my USB for PC cable for jabra bt 8010.
please help me, show me what cable i can buy to replace it,
it seems that it can use some other cable to replace.
could you help me
so thanks
could i use the USB for PC cable for BT330/BT500/BT800/JX10/BT 8040 for BT8010.
or could i use universal usb cable which has the same size for this one?
because I tried to find out cable but failed, no one sells that.
please help me to answer this question.
thanks so much
hi, just like you i also need usb cable for my 8010. ive googled high & low but to no avaiL? especially as im in the Philippines . . maybe by this time you have new info? pls help & thanks
Its just a usb-to-micro-usb cable.
thanks, but the micro usb's available on ebay are for motorola & looking at the pics -> - > they look different . .
Micro usb is micro usb. Its a standard.
usb may be a standard, but ...
... apparently the cable ends are not. I've have three different Jabra headsets in the past several years, all of which used a usb charging cable and none of the usb cable ends on the headset side were compatible with each other. I made the mistake of ordering off ebay and the cables I received did not fit my 8010. My advice: Don't buy a usb cable unless the seller can confirm that the cable works with your particular headset.
@kihoalu
thanks very much. if you get wind of a supplier, pls post. im sure there are others who also need this cable
I wish I knew why yours are all different, my 8010 came with a standard micro-USB port. The charger and the computer sync cable are quite normal.

OTG and charging

Does anyone know of a way to have OTG and charging at the same time? I know you can use wireless charging and otg at the same time, I'd like to know if it can all be done through usb.

I have that exact cable. It only Powers the peripheral device. From what I can gather it's a software thing with the gs6, but I have such a small understanding of this kind of stuff.
It should be possible, I believe they had a docking station with a USB port that worked the way you're thinking

It was for the S4, but the reason it shouldn't work for the S6 is that the S6 no longer uses the micro-usb/MDL plug. Just saying that it should be possible to power the phone and do OTG

anyone knows if Marshmallow Android 6 new kernel supports charge phone over OTG cable for Galaxy S6 Edge?
Lava OTG charger, 40 bucks and works a couple times. Lol I'm seriously about ready to throw all my devices.
I bought this cable: http://www.amazon.com/Micro-Cable-Player-Samsung-Galaxy/dp/B00CXAC1ZW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1453677269&sr=8-1&keywords=otg+charging+cable and it works fine with my friends Windows Phone, i.e harddrive connects and the phone charges, but on my S6 it doesn't charge at all. Is this a wiring issue with the S6 or some software restriction?

did you ever find a solution - having same problem OTG cable working on other android devices but not my T-mobile S6 with broken touch screen
I know I'm late on this, but I have an S6 around and I'm trying to make other uses out of it, however I have struggled with this with everything I've done.
I haven't solved this, but today I came with an idea that may help some people, at least it seems it will work for me.
Ok, we cannot charge through the usb while using OTG, but we can charge through wireless and use OTG at the same time.
I have tested this with a cheap wireless base and I have plugged to the OTG first a powered usb hub and of course the phone was charging without problems. Then removed the hub and plugged a USB micro SD reader with a card directly to the OTG cable, it also continued to charge, it has charged to 100% with that plugged on.
Hope it helps.
Regards.

Note 5 Keeps Disconnecting & Connecting Via USB Cable

Hello...
My Note 5 Keeps Disconnecting & Connecting rapidly Via USB Cable? I have tried to seek solutions by disabling power management in USB Control but to no avail. Does anyone ever have this same issue & share how to fix this? Thanks in advance
Ihad this problem before. And i found that the problem caused by the cable itself . The note 5 cable is so thin and as you moving it , it will disconnect. I tried to connect my note 5 with old s5 cable . (Thicker one ) and the problem never appear again . Hope that help .
I agree, I had the same problem and found out it was the USB cable itself..

Hi,
Firstly, i agree with other posters that it could be Usb cable. However in my case with my old Note 4 I had similar issues with connecting /disconnecting.. rapidly (same as you stated in your post)
I found in my case it was the Note 4 fast charger plug (Not cable.)
If i changed the fast charger plug it would stop disconnecting /connecting. In fact it made a loud
noise /sound in the process that drew my attention as to what was happening. (the phone was making the connection /disconnection noise)
If i changed the charger with my old Note device's charger/ plug it would work correctly. Also if i change
Note 4 fast charger with my Note5 fast charger it would also work correctly.
Good luck
Well...it's getting quite weird actually. Yes i think the problem is actually from my USB cable here, it used to be fine but problems only arose after i upgraded my PC OS from 8.1 to Windows 10 and Note 5 firmware to Marshmallow at the same interval. In my case the charging process with its fast charger adaptor works fine, but not with the data transfer when connected to PC. Since i only have other USB cable from Samsung Tab S, thus what i can conclude is that by using said USB cable, connection to PC was more stable but still sporadically undetected or stopped during data transfer here. And it did not support fast charging despite plugged to Note 5 fast charger adaptor. I suppose not all USB cables support fast charging at all. And there are reports indicating several USB problems conflicting with windows 10 as well. Meanwhile i am still trying to figure this out, i'll keep updated when new progress comes up ok. Thanks for all your attention & inputs, really appreciate it here.
Just bought a new USB data cable for Samsung Note 4, the cable is indeed thicker. Conclusively yes the culprit was the USB cable as no said problems occur anymore while using new cable here.

usb problem

I have a very strange problem my phone refuses to charge whith any usb even the factory one except for an old nokia usb which is very short and old any thoughts about what is going on
I think you figured out your own problem.
So logically, you would take that cable that didn't work and use it on another device and see it if it works.
all the cables work with all phones except mine

You probably have a bad USB port. Same thing happened to me, so I bought what I call the heavy duty nylon USB's, works like a charm. If you use a cheap USB where the microUSB socket can bend easily, it won't sync up to your phone.
These are the cables I bought that works with my N6: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GFB1SLC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
If you know the USB cables don't work, you could alternatively try to bend the microUSB side up/down to see if the N6 picks it up, that tells you the USB port is getting bad.

QI wireless adapter won't charge phone anymore - XZ1 compact

Hi all,
I have an XZ1 compact (Model G8441 non-root) that I'm very happy with, but I can't get it to charge wirelessly.
I bought an adapter with a USB-C plug and it worked to charge the phone at first, but it suddenly stopped working after a few charges.
I figured I had a fault with either the wireless receiver that plugs into the phone or the charger pad.
I tested the receiver via a micro-USB adapter on my old Z5 compact and it charges fine. I also bought another charger pad, and it also won't work on this phone.
When the phone is on the charger pad, the indicator on the pad recognises that something is there and goes from green to blinking red as if charging, but nothing happens on the phone.
If the phone is completely switched off, all I get is a blinking green LED on the phone.
I've tried it with the case on and off.
There have been three updates since I got the phone a few weeks ago. Is it possible that an Oreo software update has broken the low power charging somehow?
Obviously I've rebooted the phone, but I haven't done a factory reset.
I'd appreciate any help you could offer.
You could indeed try downgrading the phone to determine if it's a firmware/software issue or a hardware issue.

I'm confused. The XZ1 Compact doesn't have wireless charging. What did you buy to wirelessly charge it? Something that plugs into the USB port and then sits on a wireless charger?

Yes, I bought a wireless adapter with a USB-C plug that connects to the phone & lays against the back of the phone inside the case. You then place it on a wireless charging pad.
I've done the same thing with several other phones & never had a problem.
Didn't see it explicitly mentioned, did you try using a different USB-C adapter cable? Since the micro USB cable works, we can safely assume the pad's fine. But I didn't see you cross test another type c cable.
Solved
Hi all,
I managed to fix the problem by replacing the QI receiver attached to the phone with a new one.
Strange that the old one worked if I connected it to a different phone via an adapter (and that it worked to begin with on my phone).
It must have had a problem where it couldn't output enough voltage to charge my new phone, but had enough to charge the old one.
Thanks for your help.

What I had changed was the charger pad. I tried two different ones, a USB-C powered one and a micro USB powered one. Neither worked.
I have a new QI receiver on order.
