Hi all,
I bought this tablet barely a week ago for the purpose of note taking at college. It worked flawlessly at first but in the last few days either the digitizer or software (i assume) started malfunctioning after prolonged usage of M-Pen lite stylus that came packaged with it, I mean it's not even that long it happens usually after 1hr - 1.5hrs of constant pen writing. HOWEVER even though the screen refuses to recognize pen input once that happens, it still DOES work if I tap my finger or decide to "write" or "draw" with my finger so I'm guessing it has something to do with software side of things.
I've heard of this happening on Surface 3 and that's a far more superior and much more expensive product than this.
Who can I contact about this issue? Does HiCare support offer any useful features that I could use there or over their live support? You guys reckon they'd even know what I'm talking about.
Has anyone else experienced this and were you able to fix it? I can't be bothered to go restarting my tablet every time it decides to malfunction because I have things to write down.
Please I'm desperate :crying::crying:

Hi
I've been having trouble with the touchscreen on my MDA Vario III, I'd be grateful from some advice from some of you hardware gurus.
It seems to be detecting phantom touchscreen input, which can prevent it from properly detecting real input. This was evident in the Notes application, if I were to tap around the screen in draw mode it would sometimes draw dots, but often draw a straight or curved line between the last point and the most recent one. I thought something might be pressing on the borders of the screen so I did the thin card round underneath the bezel thing, which if anything made it worse, though that may just be me imagining it.
I sent it off to a local repair firm for a touchscreen replacement, got it back this morning and it seemed to be ok, but not perfect. During the morning, having rerun kaisertweak and installed a couple of cabs, it deteriorated again.
Right now it's cycling round the Alignment Screen, the cross is moving around on its own periodically. If I try tapping the cross it mostly doesn't detect the tap.
So right now, I've got a month old Kaiser, warranty void and insurance not applicable, that I simply can't use!
My question really is, what could the problem be if it isn't the touchscreen/digitizer (they are one unit on the Kaiser aren't they?) and it doesn't appear to be a physical problem with the housing of the screen? Does it imply a mainboard failure?
Does any user configuration at all survive a hard reset? Such as increasing the touchflo sensitivity with Kaiser Tweak?
Thanks

I did/do have the exact same issue, however on my unit it only happens when using some third party stylii (spelling?)....one old Ipaq 3970 metal stylus, and 2 multifunction pens. Using the onboard stylus (or any other light stylus, like the one from the P3600) I encounter no problems (knock on wood), no matter how hard I poke on the screen....
Unit is over 3 months old - have gotten used to it, just donĀ“t use any heavy/metal stylus.
Your problem, however, seems to be a bit more pronounced.....
Thanks for the reply, michi, though your problem does sound a bit different, if just a change of stylus improves it.
I've tried the stylus from my old Wizard and the arse end of a pen, without success, sadly.
Oddly, I'm starting to think it might be slightly heat related, if I leave the phone off for a while it seems ok, and stops responding to taps more after it's been on for a while. Very strange.

I knocked up an impression of what I get when tapping in a pattern in the Notes application, image attached.
Reading other posts about perceived performance problems with the Kaiser, I wonder if there are other cases where it seems like it's locked up, but in fact it's just taking an age to figure out what you've just asked it to do, essentially just a problem with the touchscreen, not the whole device. That's definitely one of the symptoms I get....
It's back with the menders now, hopefully, they'll manage to sort it out this time...
Cheers

Not sure if it could be similar, but I had a Tablet PC which was prone to interference from the power supply. Perhaps this is the case. May the sheilding is not up to snuff? I am by no means an expert, but this might give you another path to explore for problem resolution. Hope it helps.
Sometimes, like once a week or so, my Diamond gets pretty weird. It register the touch i make with my thumb or stylus as being further to the left than it actually is, sometimes all the way to the left of the screen and sometimes just a cm or two.
This happens even if I've just installed a new ROM, (got 2.03.413.1 official atm). It usually happens when the phone is pretty slow/warm/busy. Like when I've spoken for a long time, or when I'm browsing through many images. But then, all of a sudden and without me doing anything in particular, the phone fixes itself.. Takes from a few minutes to several hours.
Question is: Have you heard of this before? I've searched but found nothing like it. And, do you reckon it's a hardware or software error?
Still have warranty, but I hate turning in the phone and being without one for weeks if unlucky.
Thanks in advance,
Daniel
Hello folks,
I've had a kaiser now for a couple of years, but recently its developed an interesting problem/quirk.
When I first boot it up, I'll get one touch on the touchscreen, and then no more. Doesn't matter if i turn the screen off and leave it for a day, or anything, I'll get no more until I reboot.
One time recently, however, it worked for multiple touches over 30 seconds or so. When I picked it back up again later, it went back to its usual self.
I've ruled out any software issues by flashing to a much newer rom with a new radio. The behaviour is still the same.
My first thought is that there might be something pressing on one of the edges of the screen, so that I can "click", but not release. I tried cleaning out under the bevel with a pin, and although i pulled out half the contents of my pockets, the issue remains unresolved. I'm ordering some small torx screwdrivers to get the bevel off, to give it a more thorough cleaning.
Does anyone have any other ideas I could look into? I'm hoping its not a dead screen, although its very unusual behaviour if it is.
Lastly, I came across an app a long time ago that was being used to show the ability of multitouch on touchscreens. It would show the pressure/point of contact on screen. If I could get something like this, or indeed any information on the screen pressure, I would know for certain whether my theory about being able to press but not release is accurate. I've searched, but I havent managed to turn up anything. Does anyone have this cab/something like it?
Thanks for any help guys.
Hi all, I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem with the Note? I've seen it reported for other phones but in the Note forum, most complaints about the screen are about colour reproduction. It is extremely frustrating and I was hoping someone had any idea? I had already done a factory reset, took it to the Carphone Warehouse (the authorized Samsung service center near where I live) and they reflashed it with a Polish firmware, and it still has the problem.

No problem. IIRC, *#0*# is the standard Samsung screen test code. (Personally I only tested this code on the Note and my SGS, which I used to film the video). I had also noticed that it usually happened after a bit of running (I ran an intensive flash video for 5-6 minutes). But then it started to happen just after I turned it on in the morning even when the phone was cold.
If this problem is really bothering you, I recommend you go straight to Samsung. The service I got here in the UK has been great so far. I sent it in and 2 days later, they told me they had replaced the screen and were testing it. If all goes well, I should have it back early next week. The phone number for the UK is 0330 7267864 if anyone is interested.

Having similar problem.
On mine, the issue is intermittent. Luckily I can now reproduce the problem by pressing the top side of the phone corner here and there and screen jitters/scrolls down/un responsive.
Same problem on mine...
I'm experiencing the same issue on mine as well, but only intermittently. I noticed it happens after I've been using the Note for a while and when it gets warm. I don't know if it's heat related. I still have to do more testing, but it seems like the problem immediately goes away when I plug it into the charger.
Thanks for posting the video, now I know there's a built in utility for testing the LCD

I wish I could send it back somewhere. I'm in the US, and the Note was a gift from a relative in the Philippines, who bought it from an importer. It looks like it was originally meant for Germany, so Samsung USA doesn't want to repair it, even when I offered to pay. Same response from Samsung UK.
The problem seems to be more apparent now with ICS (stock). Just like before, the problem crops up after some use when the phone and/or battery gets warm. Oddly enough, the problem immediately GOES AWAY as soon as I plug it into the charger.
temp fixes?
Anyone come up with a work around to this.
I made a portable charger at first, but now it dose it when its plugged too
maybe disable finger touches and just use the spen?
So I got a red magic 3 which I think was assembled using defective parts from redmagic.gg but they sold it as factory new. The problem is very strange when playing games let's say PUBG, swiping on screen becames so weird it feels like two magnets repels each other when swiping at any direction on the touchscreen, so hard to aim. ( when swiping using fingernail it's a little bit better) I'm not using any screen protector, my screen is clean. Also after turning the device off or not using for a few days it works better ( swiping) for a short period of time, like for a few days, sometimes even week or so I have sent the device to authorized repair center "vsp data" 2 times already. They said that they didn't find anything wrong ( manufacturer test) but they did replace the mainboard which fixed 3 defects( BUT NOT THE SWIPING ON THE SCREEN ISSUE) So the problem should be with the screen Itself ( In my opinion ). Not much info about this problem on the internet.. I only found few guys with the exact same problem but no solution at all. Please helpppppp :sad
I've read about this problem before. Sounds like a PUBG bug/Rom bug.
Also, what "three defects" are you referring to?
EDIT: Oh wait, it is you again who has been posting these bogus threads all along.
