I've read in other forums that Lineage OS enables VoLTE and VoWIFI on the zenfone 6, so if we could try that out....
This is currently my daily driver so I am waiting for some more feedback before I take the plunge

A Rom is needed, not gsi
Wrong. If we can find a system to use gsi, then we can have Almost ALL the gsi roms. I enjoyeded all the best roms on my mimax3 by using GSIs

You Should follow the instruction
-> Wipe
-> Install ROM
-> Install Kernel (as an IMG)
-> Install GAPPS
-> Root Supersu is better
and BOot your rom

I'm testing on G928G, everthing fine for now, including the mobile data, but i have issues with Gapps, i tried install 3 different Gapps, but all is force close the Google Play Service and another small services.

after you register your own fingerprint, you should turn on and off the option "use fingerprint to unlock" in order to use fingerprint to unlock.

o alright. Can you tell me where you saw that a version with 7.1 will be out soon? I don't see it on lenovomobile website (using google translate).
so much bloatware and not all languages are available.
So I installed this after flashing 2.3 and it's stuck at 3 dots icon on booting. Could this be because I also flashed Gapps and superu before booting into the rom and setting up?
I got it to boot, but every time I flash gapps it prevents miui from loading (using open gapps). Trying to find a workaround. I'll try the MIUI gapps from their forum.
I installed the Playstore APK and services and I can't even get it to run. Also there are a lot of chinese messages and bloat on this rom. Pretty disappointing.
Edit: I got google play services finally working. Had to use a different flash file.
Edit: Google hotword isn't working although it gave me the option to train my voice and enable it. After restart it's grayed out. Sigh.

The ROM have 32 Languages to pick but this ROM have a bug on it. For example I'm from Portugal and when I choose PT-PT I get a black screen on the first screen... But if I choose PT-BR the ROM works fine...

Are you referring to vanilla android? Ie: like the pixel? Lineage, aosp and the like?
Or stock emui?
You'd need to unlocked your bootloader for vanilla.
There isn't a lot of ROMs for the p20 pro, but there's one lineage which works well.
Then there treble ROMs which are getting better.
Personally I'd go with treble as they're more feature packed.
Missing a few features.
NFC
Stereo speakers.
Fingerprint.
But beyond that it's fine..
Lineage would have the fingerprint working not sure about NFC.

I'm really glad you posted because I'm shocked to read the state of the custom ROM scene for the P20 Pro! I assumed vanilla (yes I meant vanilla "pure" Android as in like the Pixel has) ROMS would be in their abundance for this widely received phone.
NFC and fingerprint are two hugely used features by me. I'm also treating the camera apps on custom ROMs with a little trepidation in these areas because it's so good on this phone I have read stuff that alludes to the fact that the camera hardware is not taken full advantage of if it's not got the official Huawei camera app (I may have misread that, happy to be corrected)

Yea that's not true about the camera mate .
I have Resurrection remix working on my p20 and I still use the stock p20 camera app, so no problems there..gallery can be a bit funny but it is what it is..
There is also a ROM called berkerley which is actually a Honor 10 ROM but it will work on the pro..
It's a pie ROM.

The only way to get stock Android is to buy a Pixel, Android One or a phone like the Essential PH-1 that comes with stock Android pre-installed. Custom ROMs like LOS are not stock Android--they are vanilla Android and always have bugs. There is no such thing as a stock Android custom ROM. Treble ROMs are also vanilla Android, not stock.

I guess you also miss out on VoLTE. I feel VoLTE really gives better quality and connection times so I'm still sticking to (rooted) EMUI and find it just fine.

Honestly don't care about volte
Reboots were fixed by flashing a different ramdisk.
Works fine now.
Bliss is very good rom with good features . I want to try different rom now with less features and it should be stable
I am on Pixel Extended, based on Android 10. Works good for daily use

Audio is good enough for calling, not low like other pixel roms, a little higher. System Volume is very high in general.

Yeah, gapps included, but not twrp, you have to install it after rom. Last build is 0922. I have no issue, bt calls work very good too

wow! finally I can switch again to custom rom, last custom rom I tried is Pixel Experience Plus Edition, stable but there are some bugs, banking apps not working even it is certified and hidden already in magisk. BTW, what version of twrp are you using for this rom?
