Toggle private DNS - Google Pixel 4 XL Questions & Answers

Is there a way to toggle between e.g. the default private DNS automatic setting and manual DNS server?
I have couple tools that do not work with private DNS so it would be nice to have a quick way to toggle it on/off.

settings > network & internet > advanced > private dns

Does it work with Android 11? Anything else need to be done such as root or ADB commands? Any other app needed besides Tasker? TIA.

wifi/data

Is there a tile that can quickly switch on/off WiFi and data.
It's really annoying going into settings > WiFi or cellular
Is there an app in the market?
How does everyone else toggle quickly?

[Q] Data traffic notification

Hi, I was looking for a way to disable the data traffic off notification and I found a xposed module to do that, but now I would like to keep the notification panel expanded when i enable/disable data traffic. it keeps with wifi, bluetooth and all other quick settings, don't know why data traffic just do that.
oh, I am using SystemUI Patcher module to make quick settings looks like old android versions (not separated from notification).

Actually, you can just disable its notification in setting.

Can you elaborate? Where is this option? I couldn't find any and installed the "SemcPhone Patcher" module.

Activating quick setting tile of a 3rd party app using Tasker possible?

I've seen a lot of automation apps that allow you to make a quick settings tile to perform custom tasks, but I want to do the reverse. Certain apps on my phone like PIA VPN have a quick settings tile and it's the only way to toggle the VPN without the UI showing up. I would like to use it with MacroDroid/Tasker. Is there a universal method of activating quick settings tile of a 3rd party app with Tasker/MacroDroid without touch shenanigans? Thanks.
I've seen on Reddit that you can potentially do this through Tasker's "Launch App" action.
When you're in the screen selection for the app, instead of taping on the app (here PIA VPN), long press on it and you'll see some different options. Hopefully there is one related to the tile. Reddit post mentions it as: LaunchVPNForTileService

I use PIA also but I run mine through OpenVPN. I can connect and disconnect through it whenever I am connected through my work network. It does pop up the app but it closes automatically. On disconnect, it doesn't show

Yeah, for PIA, there happens to be a tile service activity which can be used to do the same as it's quick setting tile, but this doesn't seem to be universal. Even Shazam has a tile to auto-shazam, but there isn't any tile service activity associated with it that I could find. (Not that I want to use auto-shazam with tasker.) I was wondering whether there was a universal solution to this, just like how IntentTask allows you to use ANY app shortcut with Tasker. Guess we'll have to wait until some dev comes up with an app to solve this problem. Thanks.

disable/enable navbar with Tasker

Hello everybody. I'm on AOSiP DerpFest Pie ROM. I'm looking for a way to toggle navigation bar on and off with Tasker. I've been searching through the web for a solution and I came across immersive mode for navbar only and "wm overscan" shell command, but these are not what I mean. I'm looking for a way to toggle navbar in a way it can be done with the system setting (the one shown in the attached screenshot). Maybe another shell command? A Tasker plugin? Anybody knows the solution? I'll be grateful for any hint
It may be set through a secure settings. To figure it out, look here

Yeaaa, I managed to do this with SecureTask plugin, which was already installed on my device. Thank you very much for providing me with a clue! :highfive:
