Have I bricked my device? - Redmi K20 Pro / Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro Questions & Answe

I unlocked the bootloader, then proceeded to flash orange fox recovery. After I flashed that, i then flashed it once more. then I wiped dalvik cache data vendor and firmware. then flashed the dm verity zip then the chinese vendor and firmware then then rom itself (syberia os), then gapps. I'm not bootlooping, and I can still access the recovery, but I am stuck at the boot animation. Is my device bricked? What can I do to solve this issue?
[Sorry I only just noticed that I posted this in the wrong section]

FORMAT DATA.
then install the AOSP rom

Bricked applies to when it won't switch on at all.

Bootloop into TWRP

Can anyone help me? im trying to flash xiaomi.eu rom with unlocked bl then i flash twrp using fastboot after that i go into twrp then wipe dalvik / cache n data and then install xiaomi.eu ROM after finished the flashing i reboot the system but what i got is bootloop into twrp n i can't boot into xiaomi.eu rom
I'm not very experienced with this as other users and I don't know why this happens, but I got the same problem a few days ago. Solved it by flashing the Orange Fox Recovery R10 with the flashed TWRP. After that, the system booted perfectly, but I cannot guarantee it will work with you.

Flash a fastboot rom and reflash the twrp recovery. Thats what worked for me.

Help needed! Rebooting to fastboot

Hello friends,
I am not new with locking/unlocking, flashing roms....
I used to install different roms and had different problems but never met something like this.
so the problem is:
I unlocked my phone, installed twrp and tried to flash different roms (OOS, Lineage, Pixel experience) but it is still rebooting to fastboot and Im not able to go back to twrp recovery unless I flash bacl stock rom via miflash and flash twrp again.
I tried different twrps as well, wiped data, factory reset, advanced wipe.. still not able to flash any rom.
any advise?
Thanks in advance :good:

When flashing over stock MIUI you need to format data in TWRP. (Format, not wipe, need to type 'yes' to confirm.
Also, when restoring MIUI, make sure you boot into MIUI once before you flash anything else.
Use the latest 3.3.1-32 TWRP from here
https://forum.xda-developers.com/k2...icial-twrp-xiaomi-redmi-t3944363/post79823568
Restore MIUI and boot into it.
Flash TWRP and boot into TWRP
Do a factory reset.
Format data.
Reboot into TWRP - this ensures the formatted data partition is mounted properly.
Flash the ROM, plus any extras.
Boot into system.
Everything should be good.
Maybe its problem with vbmeta, try to flash vbmeta first, but you need to boot to twrp trough adb command, then flash vbmeta, than flash twrp, reboot to twrp and flash vendor, rom if you want to ide custom rom, not Stock

There shouldn't be any need to flash vbmeta.
In theory vbmeta would only be needed if you want to stick with MIUI, but without root, but want to install TWRP, maybe to debloat.
Flashing Magisk or flashing a custom ROM should remove the need to flash vbmeta.
If you're already on the latest MIUI there is no need to flash any vendor files, as they're already installed.
I dont know why, but Yesterday ive tried to flash custom rom, wiped everything and after flash and reboot the phone stucked in fastboot, wont boot to twrp, not with butt shortcut, not with adb command. So i try to flash vbmeta, than IT boots to twrp, and Also i was able to flash again twrp, this could be Also solution.

Stuck at MI Logo...

Hello all,
so i have an strange issue here. after installing magisk canary yesterday evening, i ended up in a bootloop.
so i stayed pretty cool and went to twrp, used magisk uninstaller and thought hmm okay ****, still not booting, not even shows the boot animation now.
stuck at the MI logo, flicks one time, and then stuck again.
so trying to reflash magisk then with 20.4, but nothing changed.
i ended up doing a full wipe, downloading the latest v12 vendor global and reflashed the rom.
booted up all fine. set it all up again, did a random restart, without doing stuff.
boot animation....10 minutes..
restarted stuck at mi logo again.
not even the system is trying to get up.
now i can wipe verything, vendor, data, system, dalvik, whatsoever, i wiped everything, flashed vendor again, installed rom.
nothing... stuck at the MI logo.
any ideas?
many thanks
If you're flashing recovery ROM i suggest you use fastboot ROM

i reflashed now via xiami flash tool and stock rom and it boots up.
but as soon as i flash twrp and a custom rom, with wipe before, everything is stuck again on the mi logo.
what the...?

From stock MIUI.
Install TWRP
Boot into TWRP
Do a factory reset
Format data - Format not wipe, need to type yes to confirm
Reboot to recovery (TWRP)
Flash custom ROM
Flash GApps if needed/wanted
Boot into the ROM
Everything should be good
Flash Magisk if required
Do not wipe any other partitions in TWRP, the factory reset is enough.
Make sure you format data in TWRP - don't miss this step out.
If you're doing this immediately after flashing MIUI, you must boot into MIUI once to finalise the installation.
Yes format data not wipe.
when i flash custom rom, even i am not on miui i first format data with yes in twrp then reboot to twrp. I put rom and gapps to internal memory, and install rom and gapps. and when finish reboot to system, when phone restart it stack at mi logo, so i have to go back to twrp and do again format data with typing yes, and then reboot to system and it works. so no wipe data, format data with typing yes.
oh and i thought, wipe is the same as format.... :/
works like charm. booted up successfully evo x with vendor 12 global.
Install TWRP
Boot into TWRP
Do a factory reset
Format data - Format not wipe, need to type yes to confirm
Reboot to recovery (TWRP)
Flash Vendor
Flash custom ROM
Boot into the ROM
Everything should be good
Flash Magisk if required
thanks all !

If you want to change to a different ROM, or if you want to update Evo x, then the safest way is to remove lockscreen security before flashing. This will remove encryption, which will allow you to clean flash a new ROM, or dirty flash an update, without any issues caused by encryption.
Once your done, add the lockscreen security back.

Question [HELP] Doesn't boot with any Recovery based ROM!?

Hi Guys
I tried an update to Mirza's ROM but after it caused more issues, I tried restoring from full Orangefox backup in recovery; only to find the phone stuck at Fastboot mode. It appeared strange, so I tried it again to end up with same fate. I tried installing Xiaomi.EU ROM, but after installation it got into a boot loop alternating between Recovery logo and MIUI startup logo. I got into fastboot again and flashed TWRP trying the same, but without joy. Tried another recovery and multiple versions of Xioami.EU ROM all with same fate. Finally got hold of an old fastboot ROM from Xioami.EU and flashed with MiFlash tool and it flashed successfully without issues. Assuming all was well, I tried flashing ROM via recovery which either gets stuck at MIUI logo or recovery. Boot loader in unlocked and decrypted. I tried flashing SHRP recovery, Magisk, wiping data etc as well to rule out any issues, but the problems remain.
Any ideas as to what's happening?
If I understood right, recovery ofox is working.
So reboot to it
Format data with yes
Reboot ofox
Flash ROM
Flash magisk recommend
Format data again with yes
Reboot system and give time to boot, could be more than some minutes but I think not more than 20
For those who might face similar issues.
According to Orangefox website, 'note that you should not restore a backup of the persist image, unless it proves absolutely necessary'. I may have checked it in recovery during restoration which probably destroyed the partition.
Fix:Installed TWRP via flashboot, formatted all data(not wiped) and installed ROM then formatted again and it booted.

Redmi 9 MIUI 12.5 stuck at MIUI boot logo

Hi, i got a problem at boot after I've formatted data in my SHRP recovery. I have formatted Data/Cache/Dalvik then flashed zip with disable encryption and restarted system and it got stuck. I know i can fix this with flashing with SP flash tool back from 11.0.7.0 but it's long way from here. Recovery is working, maybe there is a way to flash certain files from Fastboot (sp flash tool) or flash from recovery. Thank you for help
