[LOGO][MOD] Motorola boot logo and Android 10 inspired bootloader - Moto G5 Plus Themes, Apps, and Mods

With the new release of Android 10 and custom ROMs making their way to our beloved Moto G5 Plus, I decided to create multiple boot logos that add the brand new "Powered by Android" text. On top of that, the bootloader now has a more modern, material feel to it! Don't worry about the annoying N/A text in the way. These logos hide it!
The Android version doesn't matter in this case. As long as you're rocking a Moto G5 Plus, you're all set. I wouldn't recommend flashing these on other devices, even if they are by Motorola. You can give it a shot but please don't complain about issues. You were forewarned. All of these boot logos have been tested on my personal device and work without issue.
How to install
Fastboot (.bin)
First, you need to boot into the bootloader (Power off then hold power and volume down)
Plug the phone to your computer
Put the boot logo file that you downloaded into your fastboot folder
Open up fastboot and type "fastboot devices" and make sure your phone shows up
If your phone shows up then type "fastboot flash logo logo.bin" (logo.bin should be changed to the newly downloaded .bin file. Ex: "motorola.bin"
If everything goes well, you can type "fastboot reboot"
Flashable (.zip)
Just flash it in the recovery. It's that easy!
Download
Logo download: http://bit.ly/MotoLogos10
The download includes a pack of all the boot logos. They are named according to their looks. Flashable zips and fastboot (.bin) files are both included in this pack. In case you have trouble with my naming scheme, you can check this list below. They are in the same order as the attachments so you can tell which is which!

You can use whichever method that suits you.
Both will give the same results.
The fastboot one might be for the users that don't have TWRP installed.

How do I restore the original one. I've noticed my phone taking too long to reboot, shut down and I don't know if it's related but when entering recovery it takes like dice minutes to enter rhe recovery menu

Thanks Man!!! Appreciate the new modern looking logo

Changelog 12/14/19
Seven brand new logos are now available in the pack!

If anyone would like some ROM specific logos, I'd be willing to add them to the pack. The more the better!

Would you mind creating a HavocOS 3.0 styled variants?

Does flashing this removes 'this phone is unlocked visit some url' blah blah blah?

How to repair my bricked moto x xt 1052
Hi everybody...
Im new here.
I hope someone resolve it.
My moto x xt 1052 is bricked, means it is not powerup normally, no any screen displayed, no boot image, boot animation, but goes into fastboot mode sometimes on trying to go in it using hardware key pressing i.e. Power and volume down keys.
Here is the brief description what was happened......
My moto was on stock kitkat 4.4.4 for upgrading it to lollipop On 19th jan i was tried to flash cm12 over cm11 nightly as described in that thread , for that i was unlocked my bootloader, rooted it, flashed CWM touch recovery, flashed superSu zip file and flashed cm12 nightly over cm11 as described. But my device was stucked at boot logo. For resolving that issue i was flashed boot.img of prev nightly release(i.e. 1/15) through command promp using commands '' cd Downloads... cd fastboot... fastboot flash boot boot.img.
It flashesh image file successfully and device is booted successfully. I was used it till last 4days and regularly updated cm12 nightly via cmupdater.
But 4days back i was tried to remove warning message of device is ulocked bootloaded which was irritated me using same flash method and logo.bin files which was given in another thread by other members. But my BOOTLOADER IS DAMAGED and no any display was seen. I read many threads to repair it but no anyone give easy step by step guide. I was tried to repair it using motoflasher given in 1 thred. But as shown there no my device was not shown in device manager asQUSB****9** THERE is only adb interface in device manager. Also it says in motoflasher that no device was connected and output was incorrect COM port, which was refused to flash bootloader. Another thred of rescurrection of bootloader is not so easy and also download links are not useful, shows item was removed.
There is no another way, i thought bootloader is a kernel, so i was flashed zwiel kernel by same flashing method by cmd.
The problem remaims same, moto care told thay it will cost 6k for repairong which is too high. The descreltion is given in details for anyone who finds my mistakes and tell me angd give me suggestion. Xda is big deveopers forum, i know someone will help me.. So plzzz help me.
HOW CAN I REPAIR MY BOOTLOADER AND SAVE MY MOTO which will not useful then usable as a paperweight.
Have you tried to simply re flash your stock 4.4.4 firmware via fastboot since you say you can get into fastboot mode? Or rsd your 4.4.4 firmware. If you can get into fastboot mode I think you should be able to fastboot your stock 4.4.4 and be back up and running.
When in fastboot mode and phone plugged in and you type "fastboot devices" does it display a string of numbers for your device? If yes then you are good to go.
I am having a similar issue with a Sprint Moto X (1st Gen). I am able to get to fastboot mode and I have flashed the stock image for 4.4.4 using mfastboot (also re-did it using RSD lite as the boot.img gave errors using mfastboot) but the phone only still boots to a dark screen and vibrates roughly every 15 seconds.
Anyone have an idea on what else I can try? I've been scouring the boards and youtube, but haven't really come across anything on this type of issue.
Has been RDS flashing process totally completed without any errors?
The flash finishes with no errors when it goes to reboot the phone I end up at the same spot of a black screen that vibrates like its powering on then repeats every 15 seconds like its stick in a loop. Odd... I never get the smallest hint to a picture on the screen.

Your symptom I'm quoting is what I've seen when a bad logo.bin has been flashed to the phone.
Can you try another? Some are in http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/themes-apps/collection-moto-boot-services-t2885395
Thanks for the suggestion.
I tried a dew different logos but the end result is still the same. Vibrates on power up, no display at all and repeats until I hold the volume down and count to like 10 when the next buzz cycle would happen so I can get into fastboot mode again. I should note that I can't see anything in this screen as well. I was starting to wonder if it was the screen that was the issue but the bootloop has me thinking otherwise.
I have another one with a bad screen and a replacement is on the way. I guess I can test it on this one as well but I'm sure the result will be the same.
I took a gamble on this one thinking I could bring i back to life, I figured the last owner just soft bricked it and flashing the latest stock would override what mess they did. I'll tinker around some more if there are some other options otherwise I can just flip it for parts i guess.
If I run the fastboot getvar all I get all the phone info so it gives me hope that something can be done, I just don't know what, it seems like I keep cycling through the same few processes hoping for a different result. I even tried the power + Volume down for two minutes thing that's supposed to bring up the "other" recovery menu, but with no display, i don't know what happening.
In a last ditch effort I did a tear down and connection check for all the parts so everything has been removed and firmly re-attached, certainly was nice to do that there instead of on the one I know will work once I replace the screen, but it sucks to still come up empty handed. Sorry for the long rant, it's just been a long few days of trying to find ways to bring this phone back to life.
Solved with downgrading
Sorry for bad english.
I had same issue.
But solved prev saturday hole day.
Using manual method instead of rsd.
Make sure u properly installed adb and mfastboot. For that open cmd and type adb. It shows command lines and then mfastboot. It also shows command lines then you are ready to go. If not, google it for how to install adb and also for mFastboot
Then download proper stock firmware for ur device. unzip it, u will get files of system, boot etc. Copy all this files and paste into mfastboot folder. Open command prompt in that folder by pressing shift and right key of mouse.
Then boot your moto into fastboot mode by pressing power and volume down key for a seconds. If u will not get in to fastboot mode try for many times unless u get it. I will get it after trying half hour.
Connect ur device to pc and run commans given in the following link. http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/general/guide-moto-x-return-to-100-stock-using-t2446515
End with-- fastboot adb reboot. It will reboot ur device.
Enjoy.
Thanks for the steps, I feel like I have done that already save for the few end steps with the oem commands.
So I flashed the print image using that guide and it still vibrates every 15 seconds and no display. I grabbed the retail file from the motorola site (oddly enough they only have TMO on the file name for some reason) and I flash this and it doesn't vibrate every 15 seconds, but still no display... Maybe in the end the display is bad after all...
Like mentioned before, I already have one coming in black for the one that works for sure...so I guess I'll test it on this one as well. Just wish it was as easy to disconnect/connect as my Nokia Lumia was, that took less than 10 minutes!
So, in the end it was the display afterall. I ended up getting another replacement screen as I really did not feel like attaching it and detaching it (yeah, I'm lazy sometimes). After setting up the new screen I plugged it in to charger and what do you know, battery at 0% then the motorola bootloader unlock screen after 5 or so minutes.
Now I have two phones, lol. One screen came without the speaker on the to fro some reason... And I think I just messed up my main phone removing the frame to add in that piece so lint and such doesn't get into the phone so easily... Dang it!
Edit - Yep, now it has a nice rainbow line display across the bottom where the navigate soft button would be... Guess I have to get one more screen!

Go to the General Forum there's a dedicated thread with official roms for your particular model. Use download the ROM and flash through rsdlite. Always make a backup since it will wipe your internal storage clean.

If you installed 5.1 by using one of the TWRP backups, and did NOT flash the leaked OTA zip files, then you should have only touched /system and /boot partitions.. in that case, it would be safe to flash 4.4.4.
thank u so muchh......

TELUS Moto X (XT1097) doesn't boot after last OTA. Help!

Hey guys,
I have rooted my Moto X 2014 (XT1097) with Chainfire auto root method about 6 months ago and I decided to accept the OTA update I got today from TELUS (22.121.11.en.CA). If I remember correctly I was on 5.0.1 before accepting this OTA.
Now the phone is stuck in the custom boot logo screen that I installed after rooting and even if I try to shut it down, it just boots up and gets stuck in the logo screen.
What should I do? I can access the bootup screen by holding power and volume down.

Let me reply myself so that maybe others can use this info to fix their devices as well.
Step 1: You need to install the ADB platform tools (should be plenty of threads about that)
Step 2: You need to find a system.img and a boot.img to match your needs. I have a XT1097 with TELUS in Canada, so I have found this thread and downloaded the big .zip file (big thanks to Steve-x!). For US people the graffixnyc site has images for XT1095 that you can use. Move those .img files where your fastboot.exe file is found
Step 3: Boot your device in bootloader mode (hold power and volume down) and connect it to your PC
Step 4: Install the images with the fastboot command by typing this in a cmd window
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
Click to collapse
Or in the case of the TELUS image, the system image is split into 7 files ... just flash system them one after the other. Steve mentioned something about the recovery.img, but wasn't sure how to flash that so I did it this way.
Step 5: (Optional) If you had something else installed you will get some errors, here's how to fix them. Boot back in the bootloader and choose Recovery, then when you see the screen with the "sick" Android, keep Power pressed and tap on Vol Up to enter Recovery Menu. Choose to delete data and delete cache. Reboot.
If you used Steve's image you should be booting into TELUS Android 5.0.1, just before the cursed update. You can even do now the 5.0.1+ update OTA. You're back in stock ROMs world
Glad you got it fired up again. I haven't taken the OTA yet myself with my Moto X's, was hoping to get the entire image with Motorola Device Manager.
Le sigh
Man i'm having nothing but issues. I've done everything that i was supposed to do, but i cant get the files to load.

Boot Logos for Moto X using "Moto Boot Logo Maker" by CaitSith2 Plus 1 DkTheme Anim

Boot Logos for Moto X using "Moto Boot Logo Maker" by CaitSith2 Plus 1 DkTheme Anim
Having made several dozen Boot Logos for the two Moto G models that I own using the program "Motorola Boot Logo Maker" developed by CaitSith2 (Thanks to him please if you use his program) I decided to try my luck with my Moto X which I received from Motorola in the last couple of days. Bearing in mind that there is a huge difference in display size (1440 x 2560 - as against 720 x 1280) I was interested to see if this program which easily and automatically produces "logo.bin" files could work with the Moto X.
One advantage of this method is that it automatically gets rid of the "Bootloader Warning" message at the same time as flashing the new logo without any further steps being necessary. If you use CaitSith2's program it is clearly understandable how it works, I used "Custom" and manually adjusted the size to 1440 x 2560. I have to admit that my first attempt at using the program to create a "flashable zip" failed to flash in twrp, however there was no error message and no damage done but then I simply extracted the "bin" file from the zip and used "fastboot" to flash the logo.bin in adb. It maybe that the program can't handle the increased size when it produces the flashable zip but this really doesn't matter because the program gives you the option under "save as" to save just the bin file which as I've said can be flashed in adb.
I attach a .jpg showing the logo I flashed and although using the program is quite straightforward I would be happy to create logos for anyone who wants to post a jpg or png.
EDIT:::::: HAVE ADDED A DARK THEME BOOT ANIMATION IN POST #21
I want to thank you for your post. Because of your post I've been able to build a dark themed version of the logo.img.
I really hate that if you have to power cycle or reboot your phone in the dark you are blindsided by the screen. Not ideal.
Also I was able to replace the Unlock boot logo with the MM flavor of the logo instead of the annoying message on brilliantly white background.
I've attached a thumbnail of the dark version of the MM logo.

Good question I have never found anyone wanting to replace a "locked" bootloader logo, probably because the nasty "unlocked" logo doesn't show until you actually unlock the bootloader! I don't know the answer to the question I am going to ask - can you use ADB on a device with a locked bootloader? Following on from that, can you get into "fastboot" mode on your device if your botloader is still locked? Sorry I can't be more helpful.

See the last few lines of my original post #1 - that wil tell you how to create the "logo.bin" file. Having done that use the following command in fastboot........... fastboot flash logo logo.bin ............
Haha, no worries. Fastboot and ADB are still functional on a locked bootloader. For the past two Motos locked devices use the "clogo" partition to display the boot screen and it can be overwritten (yes, locked bootloader!) It's pretty nifty and I'm not particularly fond of the stitched logo. They are in .img format.
@kcipopnevets ... As I say I have no experience of changing boot logos on locked bootloaders. I also have never seen the "stitched" boot logo although I use the "stitched" boot animation which I believe is the default for the OTA MM update. If I was facing what I understand to be your problem then in my ignorance I would probably follow these steps ... (I CANNOT TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY IF THIS BRICKS ANYONE'S DEVICE) ... I would find a graphic I would like to have as my logo ... I would then import it into the free program "Paint.net" where I could adjust size, and add color and text etc if wanted ... then use Motor Boot Logo Maker to convert the graphic into a "logo.bin" file ... then use fastboot to replace the current boot logo.
Code:
fastboot flash logo logo.bin
If this didn't work I would try
Code:
fastboot flash clogo logo.bin
From your post it would appear you have knowledge of the named partitions of the Moto X and that you believe the logo partition to be named "clogo" if this is a wrong assumption on my part then ignore the second line of code.
ALL USERS PLEASE IGNORE THE SECOND LINE OF CODING - "CLOGO" IS NOT CORRECT, THE CORRECT PARTITION IS "LOGO"

@maverixz ... I presume you are referring to @ddfault's dark colored logo and not my original post logo ... Just to clarify, you call it the "logo.img" but as you probably know to use it as a logo the image has to be either (1) a .jpg or .png graphic which you can then manipulate in a graphics program to make it the correct size and color etc and then (2) use such a graphics image in the Boot Logo Maker program to create a recovery flashable ".zip" file (only use v2.2 of the program) or a "logo.bin" file (use either v2.2 or v2.4) which you can then flash via fastboot.
EDIT::::: Although in point (1) above I only mention .jpg and .png files this is because they are the only practical alternatives, you could in fact also use .bmp files - however these are lossless and inevitably create images that are too big to be used by the Moto Logo Maker program.

@spotmark & @[1] ... Guys just in case @ddfault is not monitoring this thread or he may be busy, I have made a .bin file of his DarkImage and have fastbooted to my own Moto X Pure and it works fine ... bear in mind it is NOT a flashable zip version so you will have to install the file using "fastboot". I will try to upload the .bin file here but it may be that .bin files are not loadable to xda, if that happens then I will rename it by calling it a "zip" file. If that is the case you will have to download it, rename it to a .bin file then "fastboot flash" it. Trust this will work for you.
PS ... bin file wouldn't upload so had to change ext, don't forget it's NOT a flashable zip.

To be quite honest I have never bothered to make & replace "battery charging" logos, just satisfying myself with the main "unlocked" logo but the Moto Boot Logo Maker program has the option to make those logos so give it a try - because of what I believe to be a problem with the META-INF files in the 2.4 version of the program you will still have to save your result as a .bin file not as a flashable zip. As a word of caution make certain that you put the correct size of image into the program.
As far as I know "Flashify" still needs a flashable zip file to work with so any kind of .bin file that you finish up with will have to be flashed using "fastboot", if I get the time I might experiment with battery charging logos.

If that is the case you will have to download it, rename it to a .bin file then flash it. Trust this will work for you.
PS ... bin file wouldn't upload so had to change ext, don't forget it's NOT a flashable zip.

Renamed file to .bin rebooted bootloader
fastboot flash logo logo.bin
works blinding warning gone. Thanks.
got a zip?
anyway I could get a zip of this? love the look

If you read post #1 and Post #13 you will see that the Moto Boot Logo Maker isn't capable at this time of making "flashable zips" in the correct size for a Moto X Pure. In particular if you note what I say in #13 you can use the file there and flash it using "fastboot".
Code:
fastboot flash logo logo.bin
I got it now. New to all this so just making sure. Thank you.

I have been trying to root my metro Moto e5 plus

I was successful in getting the bootloader installed and also twrp but SU and Magisk kept giving error, somehow in the last boot I am now on a boot loop of bad key cannot boot to OS of phone and the backup of the OS will restore but it still will not boot past the bad key loop. I can get to the twrp recovery and the bootloader but no functions work in bootloader twrp works flwlessly but I have no image for my device. Does anyone have the stock rom for the metro verision of moto e5 plus. I have found one for the Cricket version but specs are all wrong. Any help would be appreciated

Hey, even if you can't post a link to the resolution I'd love to have more info! Please either PM me or post a tut, since this looks to be a bit problematic and I'm gonna jump on a freebie from MetroPCS.
Would really appreciate it thx!
Those of you who seek root on the MetroPCS Moto E5 play, I got you
I was working on a simple, straight forward walk through. Maybe just pm me for the details. Would be easier to do it that way being as I'm currently @ work. I can't figure out how to post a pic directly from my Moto E, but if you pm, I'll send you some verification. I soft bricked mine 3 times trying to get it figured out. You know what they say though. 3rd time is the charm. PS, don't flash anything other than recovery!!! The no-verity will cause you to boot loop.

People don't really tell you how to fix the issue so if you still need help getting your phone back to normal
I will help
Every post I have tried has been flawed or wrong or won't work
Sometimes people just post **** and don't think
PM me, i'll help you as well if you need it. What you have to do is download a platform tools folder and extract it because you need to open it and open up a command prompt within the platform tools folder for the restoration of the phone's stock ROM can be successfully flashed on the phone. I have everything you need to get your phone back operational again. I'll even help you root it successfully if you need more help, and i'll help you decrypt it. there's even a successful custom ROM that i'm using now that's better than the others since the others have so many problems booting up or issues within the ROM itself.

I interested in rooting my metroPCS Moto e5 play but I don't really know what to do & I don't want to end up using a rooting program that will mess up my phone or not have at least a little knowledge of what I'm doing. Your post was the first one I came across and I was wondering if you might be able to help me with a little bit of knowledge. Please & thank you, I'd really appreciate it...

If you could help me out with rooting my moto e5 plus I would be grateful I have a question though my baseband version says M8940TMO_32.22.11.69R
HANNAH_NA_TMO_CUST and the Official TWRP app says my device is Hannah so do I use the James varient or the Hannah one is the plus and one is the play correct? Thank you for any help you might be able to give me.

yes, the plus is hannah and the regular e5 is the play...you have the hannah version.
None of this helps me. I unlocked the bootloader tried to install magisk or supersu, but it keeps bootlooping to n/a. I can only get into bootloader and from there to TWRP. That's it. I do have adb access...

[MOD] Custom Boot Logos

Hi folks, it's been a while since I've had my hand in mods and roms, but I just picked up a g7 and figured what better time to get back into it.
I have yet to root and unlock as I literally just got it, so I'm looking for a brave tester to see if this works, although I'm quite confident it will. Need unlocked bootloader to flash and adb/fastboot setup.
This is a boot logo of the sublime sun, one of my personal favorites. As long as I get confirmation this is working, I will take requests and create as I have the time to do so. One thing I may need to fix is the color of the logo as with older moto devices, I would have to flip the R and B source channels in the mixer to have colors display properly, so take this a your warning, although I will fix ASAP if this is the case.
To flash:
-Download attached logo.zip
-Unzip and move logo.bin to folder with adb/fastboot
-Put phone into fastboot mode
-Flash using command: fastboot flash logo logo.bin
Standard disclaimer: I take no responsibility for zombies eating your brain, white-walkers turning the world to an everlasting winter, or this mod causing your phone not to function. If you do run into an issue, feel free to post, and I will be happy to point you in the right direction for a fix.

Though it hasn't seen any recent updates, Motorola Boot Logo Maker appears to still work on the Moto G7.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/themes-apps/app-motorola-boot-logo-maker-source-t2848667
I had bought the Amazon version of the device, unlocked the bootloader, and fastboot flashed the RETUS image found in the lolinet repo.
I wanted to replace Motorola's unlocked bootloader warning, which I managed with Motorola Boot Logo Maker:
1) I extracted the logo.bin found in the RETUS image I had flashed.
2) I imported the logo.bin into Motorola Boot Logo Maker
3) I replaced just the 3 images that showed the unlocked bootloader warning (there were 3 for some reason). -- FYI, the image should be relatively small, and properly proportioned because there is an obvious size limitation.
4) Saving it with the changes, it produced a zip file (which returned an error when I tried to flash it through TWRP).
5) After extracting the new logo.bin from the zip file, I was able to successfully flash it via my PC from my fastboot screen [fastboot flash logo logo.bin]
6) The first time I tried to restart the device, it got stuck on the 1st screen (the new image I had replaced Motorola's warning with). However after I shutdown the device completely by holding the power button, and started it back up it booted without any problems.
I haven't actually ever created boot animations, so if you put together something nifty I'd love to try it out.

I bought my g7 through Project Fi. I use the RETAIL zip files. I followed your instructions for replacing the unlocked bootloader warning screen. In the logo.bin file, the image named "orange" was the one displayed when I booted my g7. I extracted the orange image, edited with png editor and then replaced the image in the logo.bin file. It worked great. There is an image named "logo_unlocked", but I don't see that image when I boot my phone.
Thank you for the link to the logo maker software. Very nice tool to have.
No bootlogo, just a black screen and N/A in the bottom left
Invalid Logo Bin
This comes back as an invalid logo.bin. If you flash it you get a black screen. It also changes graphic in your recovery.
doesn`t work for me, my moto g7 is tigco

All you need to do is install the Boot Animations for Superuser by JRummy Apps from the Google Play Store
It works on my Moto g7 with the default app settings
