Looking for some help. I have a 4xl from Google running on Sprint. If I leave a area that I was connected to WiFi in, I get stuck in 3g until I toggle airplane mode on and off. I've played with turning volte off, setting preferred data to LTE. Also went into developer options and enabled data to run while on WiFi.
I can't figure it out. I had this problem with my pixel 3 and ended up just switching back to my s9 because it was so annoying.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance

I'm on Sprint as well with my Pixel 4 XL and I've noticed this happen maybe once so far after 9 days of owning it. Not a deal breaker for me right now.

Yeah it's literally Everytime I leave WiFi. I called Google and they said it's because I don't have LTE coverage where I am but if I cycle airplane mode it kicks LTE in

I just walked outside my house to lose WiFi and got LTE immediately. Did you do the eSIM setup or have a physical SIM in your 4 XL? Don't know if it makes a difference but I have the eSIM in my unlocked 4 XL.

I have the esim. Did you go into a store to have it set up? Or go through the esim setup on the device?

Did it at home. You've done an update PRL and update device config?

And it's any WiFi right? I would be pretty annoyed too. Sounds like it's something a software update could fix though.

Yeah I've checked and I'm up to date. I am going to try to call Sprint later and see if they have any ideas. But it didn't get me anywhere when I had the pixel 3, so I don't they'll have a idea.

You had this the whole time with your Pixel 3? Wow. No issue like that with my 2 XL.

Yeah my pixel 2 was awesome, went about 2 months in the 3 and gave up. It wouldn't connect to my truck radio for some reason also.
I'm having issues with the 4 not auto playing on my radio and it's a head unit but I can deal with that

All,
on my Note 3 I can talk and use data at the same time. I thought I had read somewhere that the Nexus 6 would do the same. But it seems that it will not.
I am wrong?
Thanks Dave
I am on AT&T and I have used DAT and a phone call at the same time. This has more to do with your carrier and not the actual device.

Oems have made all phones that are sprint spark capable with only one pathway from modem. ..last phone on sprint that can do svlte is note 3 ...vzw is the same
Unfortunately it doesn't work on this phone =/

The Nexus 6 will not do simultaneous voice and data on Sprint or Verizon. (Although on Verizon it should be possible in some areas when VoLTE starts rolling out, not 100% sure with Sprint.)
Same with sprint they are rolling out volte sometime 2015+
Thanks for the response.

That's why T-Mobile is winning more customers and Sprint is sending techs to your house to help you set up your phone. Priorities. ???
On the Verizon variant. The option was in the developer settings, and then I updated the firmware and 'poof'...gone. Anyone else?

Updated my at&t pixel 4xl, and option is still there
That is some suck there, sorry to hear it.
It magically came back this morning lol
Are there settings which make wifi switch off and force cell? I continually have to turn off wifi and back on.
Same here. Tried rebooting the router, still have wifi issues.

Hi, I am facing same issue with my Pixel 4!. Did you find any solution? If so, please let me know. thx
Is anyone having issues after switching to the Pixel 4/XL Google Assistant doesn't talk to me when I ask her questions? Everything is turned on in settings but still nothing. Any ideas?
Okay it's when you're not holding the phone it talks. Anyway to force it to talk no matter what?

I currently have a OnePlus 6t, I have two TMobile sim cards that I use. Ones for personal, ones for business. I've called TMobile and they say I can't activate the esim as it's only an iPhone option, I've told them I've read where people have done it with the pixel but obviously, me not having the phone I can't have them try. My question is, does anyone use TMobile for both the physical sim and esim? Does everything work properly? What did you do to get TMobile to activate it? Thanks

Do you have the Google unlocked version or the TMobile carrier version? Also which build are you on? Some articles made it sound like you had to be in a specific for T-Mobile esim support

Thanks, I use to carry 2 phones and have gotten spoiled since going with OnePlus phones for my last 3 devices and while I like OnePlus I always find myself looking at pixels but I won't go back to carrying 2 phones.
The Pixel 4 is now official supported for eSIM on T-Mobile with the December update.
