What are the benefits of updating from ROM version 1.09.651.5 to the latest firmware ? Are there any features that hav actually been taken off in the latest firmware. Or shud i stick to my existing firmware? Is 2.03 the latest version ?
RoM Update
Well, I hated my Diamond 'cause it was slow and I had the knack of touching the screen with my ear when calling so I would hang up all the time.. With the new ROM that's fixed.
It's about twice as fast and a lot more stable!!
So upgrading is indeed useful!!!
Good luck!!

Are you talking about Official Firmwares or Unofficial Firmwares?
There is generally more features when updating to a new firmware. If you want speed then i would suggest go with an unofficial firmware such as Dutty or Vics Firmware.
Thnx..I would go with the official firmware.
Greetings from Germany. Phone runs on 2.2 Android with Kernel 2.6.32.9 root @ SE-S608#1
The Samsung Kies says
PDA:JPH
PHONE:JPP
CSC:JPA (ORS)
I wanted to upgrade to Gingerbread, but Kies says its already running on the newest available (Froyo). Im using the english version of Kies, think it doesn't matter?
1. Im using the german O2 Network, and I think the phone is not branded or rooted cause its new. Is the Gingerbread not out yet for my phone version ?
2. Can I flash the newest firmware like 2.3.4 by using Odin - WITHOUT rooting the phone - (rooting voids the warranty) ?
3. Is there currently any good custom ROM which is perfectly stable and has none bugs or lacking functions of official Gingerbread 2.3 ?
Heres a great 2.3.3 rom (Darkys)
Very stable and very fast, give it a go, you have to flash the JVH base rom first.
have a read....

i'll give this rom a try, heard good things about it.
Thank you.
Hi,
I've used my Note 1 for quite a while now and have tested various custom ROMS on it. I now want to take it back to stock ROM and from what I can gather it should be pretty simple to accomplish. However I have a couple of concerns:
There are so many stock ROMS out there... How do I determine which one I should use? Does it matter or will all work?
I read in a comment somewhere that I should not "downgrade" to a ROMS with an earlier Android version. Is this true?
I am currently running Mokee version MK44.4-n7000-141219-RELEASE with Android version 4.4.4
Baseband version N7000XXLT3
Hope you can help!
Thanks!

You can flash whichever 4.1.2 ROM you prefer. Go to samsungupdates.com and flash via PC of mobile Odin. Read up on how to do it properly. Guides already exist.

Hey boys,
Finally i decide to upgrade my Xperia X8 (from the last android official update) to a new version. I past the day reading guides, looking videos and finally i got my:
* Bootloader Unlocked.
* Rooted.
* xRecovery v0.1 Installed
Now im trying to decide wich version should i try to upgrade. Some people would say as a first shoot i should upgrade to 2.3.7, but i would like to install a newer version of android like 3.X or 4.X if possible.
My question is, there is any problem if i try to upgrade from Android (2.0 or 2.1) not exactly sure to a newer version (Android 4.0)?
Wich guides do you recommend me to follow, i think that the newer versions ask you to install something called kernel, but 2.3.7 doesnt right?
Thanks for advance.

I'd suggest flashing one of the older builds then try flashing newest build over top of it.
