Every time I receive a message through the default sms messaging app it says "NoSubject" and its really annoying. I have to physically open the message and wait a little for it to load. It still says NoSubject on top of the individual message but I can read it only in the app.

I will FREQUENTLY get a notification of a new text message, it will read the first few lines in the notification bar, and display in my text message widget, but when I go to my inbox there is no sign of that text message at all.
I've used handcent
I've booted handcent
Used stock
Used Message Widget by Till esser
And all sorts of ****.
Wiped/factory data reset
Took apps off my sd/cleared the partition
It's been happening for about two weeks or more and it's bull****.
Any advice?

I had the same problems, so I just switched back to stock sms.
this happened to me a while back, except mine would crash every time i open the messaging app. I simply did a factory reset, and it started working again.
This also happens to me now and then for no apparent reason, and then will stop and work correctly for a long period of time. I really have no ideas.
It happened to me when I was on JACxHeroSki v1.5 ROM and I also had an automatic task killer running in background. I uninstalled task killer and the problem went away.
As a complement, you could install Handcent and activate the "Auto retieve" and "Self check" options, that's how I'm working now and I haven't had any problems. Currently, I'm running the latest MghtyMax ROM and it completely solved that issue and other ones like the "3-ring" delay on incoming calls and the blinking LED.
Hope that helps.
EDIT: also (on Handcent) enable the "pop-up window" option when a text arrives. At least, it will give you the option to read and reply the message instantly if your texts are still getting lost. You could also install a "SMStoEmail" application, look for it on the Market.
All of a sudden, my incoming texts are not saving to my inbox. It all started after 10am today. I have my incoming texts before 10 but after that- it looks like i am just having a conversation with myself.
The pop up text appears but when I "X" out of it, the text is gone. I am using hand cent texting app but they're also not being saved to my factory text app.
Also, it's not set to delete messages after 200.
Help! Luckily I have the pop up setting enabled or I would not get my text. I've looked through the settings and can't find anything.
I fixed it.. it was my handcent app
When I get a text notification, I will read it on the watch. If I then open the text on my phone, it sends me a second notification.
To be fair, I am using goSMS and not the built in messaging app.
Anyone know how to stop this?
I always receive short sms and the notification is wide enough to read the whole messages, so I always swipe the notification to dismiss it, however the sms is not marked as read, so when another sms comes, oops, I have to go through the sms app and read all messages again to mark them read.
I'm using hangouts as the default sms app. I think if we can mark the sms as read while we swipe from the notification or have an option to swipe down and mark as read, would be perfect.
+1 for this request

Many other apps let you reply or mark read from the drop down notification. Good luck on getting hangouts to be improved at all. It was supposed to be the end all of texting apps and has failed to deliver what they promised.
Also it's sketchy with mms.
Hi All,
After recent firmware update, my note 5 default message app keeps displaying the "Announcements" notification. Is there anyway to get rid of this?
There is no way to click "Do not show again" because this notification will disappear in 1.5 sec. It pops up every time i launched the message app.
"Announcements classifies notification messages in a folder by using your received SMS information.
Announcements uses contents provided by a third party service provider called Microfountain. By using Announcements, you agree to Microfountain's Terms and conditions."
thanks
