Air trigger issue after latest update - ASUS ROG Phone II Questions & Answers

My right air trigger has been extremely glitchy after getting October's security patch, to the point where it's almost unusable in games like COD mobile. Is anyone else experiencing this?

I'm up to WW_V16.0631.1910.35 . Isn't that the newest update?

if you messed around with that then let me remind you of you choose slide trigger, tap trigger will automatically be disabled .
meaning you can only choose one option at a time

[Q] How to disable OTA on Sony Xperia Z3 Compact?

My phone is on the latest firmware with 5.0.2. I successfully rooted my phone after a couple of sleepless nights and tons of stress when the phone suffered a boot loop. I do not want to undergo that process anytime shortly, though fun it was. (Damn! I keep speaking like Yoda) Sony keeps pushing updates every ten days and it creates trouble all over again. I searched before I posted this and in kitkat there was an option under personalisation to disable OTA. However that no longer is present. Can the OTA be disabled? Can anyone tell me how to do it?
There is a app called update center as i remember correct. In the app there u can turn off ota notification. Or flash a debloated rom, most of them has no ota app
Hey basti thanks for the reply but I am not able to find any such app. Tried whatsnew app and disabled updates but I guess that is only for apps that comes like xperia lounge. Further clarity would be nice.

When the update notification appears at the top of your phone, pull down to reveal the notification menu. Long press and hold on the update message and an option to view "app info" will pop up. Click on that option and it will take you to the update notification screen where you will see a check box that you will have to clear to prevent notifications from appearing for OTA updates.

Great idea puffdaddy but the only problem is that I am looking for a way to prevent it from downloading itself. In my phone, on the last occasion, the update was already downloaded and then it informed me that it was ready to be installed. I am ideally looking for a way to prevent the download itself

That's strange. I never had that problem. Check your settings within the update app to make sure it's not set to auto download updates

Massive Galaxy Apps update

Went to Galaxy app store and checked under "My Apps" I had updates for messages, Bixby Vision, Live Messages and about 8 or 10 other apps. They weren't there yesterday, so you all might want to check. I'm not sure what's different yet, but it was a hell of a lot of updates.
Thanks for heads up, here's what I got
same here...
hope something's good

Glad to see that's up in the official app store. People had to sideload an apk to get that for the past week or so

What theme are you using.
I have like none of those apps on my Verizon Note 8 Verizon sucks......
I didn't have nearly that many but I also have been looking at it the past few days so I'm pretty sure I've done most of them recently
Just checked, had like 12-13 updates! Thanks for the heads up

That's the only useful new feature of all the updates.. rest all are related to integration with bixby.
It was pain to reach all the way up on this everest tall phone to pull down the notifications, real pain with one handed use. Now the issue is solved.
Thanks for the info
did you guys notice that if you go to optimize your battery it stays a 90% and if you agree to mcafee scan it bumps it up to 100%

Yep and it broke my subs black theme for messages. I had to uninstall reboot and reinstall. All good again. I get concerned when they update the UI because subs applied can crash the UI then we need a factory reset.
touchwiz also updated. the new drop down menu in home screen settings might be new for some people but I downloaded a previous apk version from sammoble.com that already had the notification pull down option. FYI sam mobile uploads most of the apks a lot quicker then Samsung lol.

Anyone else notice notification bugs on Oreo?

I updated to Oreo last week and i noticed when i got Spotify on and locking the screen, the play bar is black and the controls are out of place. It used to look good before the update. Same with Textra, when changing the theme colour to white, i get this weird grey dot next to the name of the sender (on the lock screen). Also notifications from Messenger on the lock screen, the profile picture is out of place. I've already used factory reset twice.
how did u update?

I have a notification for a security update for the fingerprint sensor. It downloads (9.8mb) then fails to install.
Anyone else receive update?
TIA

I haven't seen this one come across - I'm on T-Mobile with an S10+. I did do the original update which was approx 462mb (it was 2am when I did it, so can't be sure), but nothing since then.
I am having the same issue. The message is being generated from TADownloader. All I get is the download, then couldn’t update try again

Seems a possible solution is to disable the Secure Folder. Figured this out myself after a phone call to Samsung where they told me they couldn't support the third party TADownloader which is made and installed by Samsung.
I Got this in the morning. Installed and updated. No details as to what it was fixing though.
Fingerprint
It's firmware update for the fingerprint reader
I also received and updated successfully
I did the update this morning successfully. I read it was available since yesterday on other countries and i was worried I wouldn't be able to do it because my phone is rooted now, but it was an "application" update not firmware update.
The fingerprint scanner is actually FAST now. Especially if you turn off the animation, it feels like S9 fast. It only misses if i don't place my finger fully on the scanner (duh), so there is some getting used to position your finger, but I am glad to see they actually fixed it this time.

Didn't work for me. I've had secure folder disabled from day 1. I went back and enabled all the knox crap plus the secure folder just in case the update relied on something from them. After enabling it installed. Not sure which specific service/app needed to be enabled.

Can't apply this manually
Seems like it's a Galaxy App Store update. It also can't be triggered manually. Did any T-Mobile USA customers get it on their device?
Can someone send an apk of it. It is the biometrics app
Didn't receive the update yet... Exynos
Nothing I seen to do is allowing it to update. I turned off secure folder, ensured all apps were enabled, and even disabled Adhell3.
To those who successfully applied the update, are you still on the ASBA software update or did you get the later one already? I'm still on ASBA so maybe that's causing the problem?

Hardware Stub Services

Do we have solution to this warning sign aside from using notif cleaner? This is the result of Converting CN to WW Rom.. TIA
Would like to know this as well, I keep force closing the notification but it always comes back..
If you still rooted, install Notifications Off (root) from play store. Uncheck hardware stub service. Feel free to uninstall or restart the device. It wont bring that notification back.
Buy a global, problem solved.

Nice. I hope someone will share the process. I have read some fix but it says that it will ruin your refresh rate and it will be stuck at 60hz

refresh rate works fine but the problem we don't know how they managed to do it
This is what worked for me. When notification pops up...
. Click manage
. Select three dots upper right corner
. Show system notifications
. Select HardwareStub Services
. Click to mute notification and select one line for notification bar
The actual notification is still there after reboot. But you won't see it or hear it unless you pull down notification bar, then you will see it. But it's better than popping up automatically
I also have the Donate version of NCleaner and your able to hide the notification permantley under Premium settings.
If you have any issues with NCleaner not properly hiding notification after reboot. Check your permissions under app settings that everything is allowed
