unable to change default browser - Redmi K20 Pro / Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro Questions & Answe

So I'm in miui 11.0.2.0 on my Chinese k20 pro, ever since the phone has been updated to miui 11 it does not allow me to choose a different browser as an option, it only ever gives me the option to open in the xiaomi browser app. Am I missing something here, I cannot see a setting where I can change the default browser to chrome.
Edit... I'm a dufus, it was the 3 dots in apps and then it gives me the default apps option

I figured it out in the end, didn't use my brain lol

How did you achieve that? I can't disable the default browser

Go to the list of apps and select Mi Browser, scroll down and click on 'Clear defaults', after that click on a link from an app and it will ask you to set the new default.

I still have that problem in my Chinese device .. no options to chang e it at all .. i searched a lot .. the default browser cannot be changed to google and the default search engine cannot be changed to google

Try this (my Phone is K20, MIUI 11.0.2, original Chinese ROM):
[Setting] -> [Apps] -> [Manage apps] -> select "three dots" in the right up corner -> select Default apps from pop-up menu -> you will go to the "Default apps" page -> change the default app for "Browser".

Can you also figure it out on the MIUI 11.0.3?
If I got to settings, apps, system app settings, browser, it doesn't let me change the standard browser.

Sense 2.5 2011.3030 support Asian Languages?

Tried several ROMs with Sense 2.5 2011.3030 with CE-Star. All Chinese / Japanese characters are not displayed correctly, only small squares are displayed inside Manila. However those characters are displayed well in native WinMo apps (e.g. Contacts).
Any workaround or ideas please? Thanks in advance.

In paranoid settings, go to apps screen, select "settings" app (if it isnt listed simply as "Settings", it could be "com.android.settings"),set size/dpi to 240, then layout to 360px and apply.
thanks

How to make it possible to switch off miui applications from the miui interface?

How to make it possible to switch off miui applications from the miui interface?
And how to make it possible to choose the right for system applications?
Now there is no such possibility.
This selection is for installed applications only.

I'm not sure if i understood correctly your question, but to change default app :
settings --> installed app --> hamburger menu (dot) on top right corner --> Manage default app.
You can also disable update for system app if you don't use any, but cannot disable the app themselve

Thanks, worked for me
Earth and Mars work very well on my device. Saturn is sometimes a bit laggy but I guess if you really like it, it's still useable.

mine is saying -- something went wrong .. the app was not installed
I downloaded the latest version of wallpaper.apk from apkmirror.com and then upgraded the version and now you can see this options in themes. if you don't have the temes it will download automatically.
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/xiaomi-inc/wallpaper/wallpaper-alpha-2-4-105-08111626-release/
You can revert it uninstalling wallpaper.apk updates.
After installing and activating super wallpeper i started experiencing heavy lags everywhere, the phone took 2 to 3 seconds to start scrolling smoothly, first i thought the phone was just badly optimized, but when i reverted to normal theme, the phone became snappy again.
So, if you are experiencing LAG, this is probably the culprit.
