On all Chrome channels, I only get the new tab layout where it's just a list of tab names.
I don't have access to tab groups, tab preview and so on. I tried enabling all of the tab group stuff via chrome://flags, but it's ignored completely...
Enabling other settings like Duet works though...
How can I get tab groups back without installing an outdated apk manually?
Turns out the accessibility settings were automatically enabled, probably due to some tasker plugin.
Can be changed in Chrome Settings under Accessibility.

Everyone in a while i check to see what programs are running and Active Sync is always on! I close it and later on it comes back on. Is there something that can be done to close it and only use it when i connect to pc?? I have the ATT Tilt 8900 incase that matters.
Same here on a TyTn II. I sync with exchange and have peak times set. So in the evening or on sunday the AS still starts when I power up the phone. And also when I close it it starts again...
Goto Start>Settings>Phone then to the "Time Zones" tab and un-check "automatic time zone change and clock".
Active sync will quit it's crazy auto launching madness, plus you won't get the "hey, my clock just jumped ahead for no reason" bug that many have seen.
This also will help:
Do the ActiveSync workaround now and you won't be sorry later. Thank you to the original poster in HowardForums for this workaround -- I did it on my older HTC TyTN and now on my Cingular 8525 as well as Tilt and found it to resolve the weirdness all around:
1. Turn on your 8525/8925
2. Go to Start > Programs > Activesync. This will open the Activesync program.
3. Tap Menu at the bottom right hand corner of the screen. This will bring up the Options Menu. Notice the option Schedule... is greyed out? This is the all-critical option we need to get access to. But as it's disabled we can't change Activesync's default synchronisation schedule.
Ok, so how do we enable the Schedule option? Easy!!! Fool Activesync into thinking there is an Exchange Server to sync with:
1. From Activesync's Menu tap on Add Server Source.
2. In the following screens you can enter any old garbage. It does not matter, but just in case your unsure, just type the following in the indicated boxes:
Server Address: fake
Tap Next
User name: fake
Password: fake
Domain: fake
(Ticking save password or going into the Advanced menu makes no difference, so no need to bother).
Tap Next
Untick all of the 'Data you want to synchronise' options
Tap Finish
3. Ok, we're done creating the server. You should now see in Activesync's main screen your normal Activesync connection(s), and a new connection called Exchange Server.
4. Go back into the Menu, and lo and behold the Schedule option is now enabled! Go ahead and tap it!
5. You will see that both options in the Schedule screen are set to Every 5 Minutes (A01 Rom), or Every 10 Minutes (A06 Rom). This simply will not do! ( * Advanced users - please see my note below * )
6. Using the drop downs, change both the Peak times and Off-peak times boxes to Manually.
7. Press the OK button at the top right of the screen.
Congratulations! Activesync is now gagged from opening on it's own and ruining your life! Your work is not done just yet though - time to clean up and get rid of the now unwanted fake Exchange Server.
1. Go back into Activesync's Menu, then Tap Options.
2. Highlight Exchange Server, then tap Delete. A warning message will appear about removing files etc, but as you have no files associated with the fake Exchange Server, it's nothing to worry about - just tap Ok.
3. The list will now only show your remaining PC Sync connection(s). Obviously do not delete these!
After you sync your 8525/8925 with a PC and have removed it from the dock, you must manually close ActiveSync on your pda or it will remain running and defeat the purpose of the fake exchange server hack (n.b. if you are not using a 3rd party program that will close apps permanently e.g. Magic Button or Wisbar, you will need to go to Start > Settings > System > Memory > Running Programs and Stop it manually). This could be why some people have had no luck with the hack.
I had applied the "fake" server trick but it had no effect on the Kaiser's active sync madness (although I also reccomend that it be done on all phones not using servers), the time zone fix nailed it.
Timezones trick does not work by me. I also have no problem with the clock jumping...
The Exchange trick, well I am using an Exchange server to sync with, so my peak times is set ot as items arrive, and non peak hours to manual... peak times are set only ot weekdays between 08:45 and 19:00 so I am afraid I have to live with the bug. Well it is not that bad since there is a load **** of memory on the kaiser.
How to Ungrey Schedule Permanently
If you want to be able to have the Schedule item ungreyed permanently, and therefore available for use, follow the procedure described by Pruben above, but don't delete the fake server. Now click on Schedule, select the Options tab and deselect all boxes in the Microsoft Exchange section. Press OK and you're done.
I haven't been able to test this out fully because Pruben's solution doesn't work for me, so maybe someone can test this and post results.

This trick worked for me w/my Tilt, ATT rom
I have the Nexus One and had Froyo, and I ticked the Privacy option to back up all my settings and apps.
I understood that when I got a new N1 or reset my N1, all these settings and apps would automatically come back in once I signed into my Google Account, but htat hasn't been the case.
I restored back to 2.1 (for various reasons) and although my email and calendar etc. sync, no apps or settings are interested in coming in.
NB: The setting is unticked by default in the N1, and I'm scared to tick it in my blank N1 in case it then overwrites my stored apps and settings on their server, with this blank N1 settings. Surely I don't need to tick it for the settings to offer to be restored?
Also Froyo has not come in yet either. Any ideas?
A temporary solution will be presented at the end of this post.
PDA: I9000 XXJPO
PHONE: I9000 XXJPP
CSC: I9000 OXAJPO
I have two seemingly identical Factory unlocked UK-bought SIM-free models, both on official Froyo through Kies, flashed with Speedmod 341 Kernel with No-RTF Advanced lagfix applied through Kernel's in-build Sztupy's Universal Fix. Both rooted through ChainFire's tool.
If Automatic Syncing is NOT activated (saves battery and helps control traffic), then after updating the Calendar events on Samsung these updates DO NOT appear on web Google Calendar. If Automatic Syncing is ON - ALL IS FINE ON BOTH PHONES.
This needs further clarification, as two phones behave differently.
Problem No. 1: When Calendar is open and events edited WHEN BOTTOM LEFT SENSOR BUTTON PRESSED:
A. First phone gets 6 choices to choose from (Search, Create, Go to, Today, Delete, Settings).
B. Second phone gets 7 choices (Search, Create, Go to, Today, Delete, and MORE, which when pressed OPENS Choices: Settings and REFRESH).
FIRST REQUEST: Help on how to get REFRESH button among the choices on the First phone would be greatly appreciated.
Problem No. 2: When REFRESH button is pressed, nothing happens (it behaves as if something does happen, but it does not), i.e. the CALENDAR DOES NOT SYNC. Same thing happens with Calendar Widget - when Sync symbol is pressed it does not actually Sync. When similar refresh button is pressed for E-mails, they DO sync. If you follow the path of Settings -> Accounts and sync -> Choose your account from Manage Accounts -> Sync Calendar, the CALENDAR DOES SYNC.
SECOND REQUEST: Help on how to force Sync from the Calendar REFRESH button in the same manner as the "Sync Calendar" from the path above does.
On each of the phones I have more than one GMail account Synced. The one that has "Refresh" opiton has the GMail account listed at the top of the list, the one that does not - lists the Gmail account with the calendar as second in the list (not sure if that makes a difference for the , have not tested it). Also, the calendars from the two accounts on different phones are Shared (but that works ok after a bit of finetuning and tweaking).
Ideas: Clearly, the REFRESH button is not performing the same as "Sync Calendar", so the first idea was to make it do just that. However, I am not clever enough to do that (as well as not clever enough to figure out how to make the REFRESH button appear on the other phone). My first idea was to create some kind of a macro and assign it to the button. I found that "Tasker" may be able to create a macro-type sequence, however, since it is a paid app, it does not even appear on my Market choices. And even if it did, I would not have a clue as to how to assign it to that specific particular REFRESH button. Or, for that matter, how to get the REFESH button appear on the 1st phone. (See request 1).
WORKAROUND:
The only solution I have found so far is beta free app on Market called Synker. It appears as a Widget on Home Screen and allows to force sync all apps that need syncing. And it automatically picks up some of the common android apps and allows you to configure what you want syncing (e.g. contacts, e-mail, calendar etc.). That has good and not so good side effect due to one and the same reason: it syncs everything thet you've pre-set in a configuration. So, when you are checking your e-mails and updating calendar, you press Synker button before you start (to get them all updated to your phone), respond to e-mails, edit appointments etc, and press Synker button after, to get those e-mails sent from your phone and get the Calendar updated on the web. That is excellent. However, if you just looked at your Calendar to make a couple of changes, you do not want Synker to go through all of your 5 e-mail accounts, Facebook and Calendar to do the job.
Yes, it is possible to configure Synker to just update Calendar entries (which, really, should be done through Calendar's native Refresh button), but then you are deprived of the excellent functionality of this app to update all at once. And, for some reason, it is not possible to put two same Widgets with different settings, as practice shows. So, for now, for me it's the less efficient syncing of everything through Synker on any update, but, hopefully, with a little help from you, the Calendar's REFRESH button can be 1. forced to appear and 2. be fixed!
As the developer of Synker, I just wanted to note… Synker should allow for multiple widgets with different accounts/setting. I double checked this on an EVO and a Galaxy Tab after reading your post… If this isn’t working for you send me an email so we can look into it…
Thank you for the reply (and for the app!) : just re-checked, it DOES work! It is a good workaround and a great app in its own merit, which I would use for general syncing even if the problem described was fixed.
My Note is able to browse Internet only using the default Internet browser.
With Doplphin HD, Opera Mobile, Opera Mini and Firefox, whatever URL I write, I get the error "web page unavailable".
Same URL in Internet default browser works.
More, I'm able to access to the market, Samsung Apps, Best Apps, GetJar and Amazon App Store, update almostall wether forecasts, download file, emails ect.
Accounts synchronization work for all accounts except for the social hub ones.
Apps like Facebook, Twitter, FriendCaster, Google Maps, Earth and almost all that need an Internet access, work without problem.
I think one of the apps I've installed in these days is the cause.
May be Set DNS, but uninstalling it dind't solve the problem.
Any idea?
I've found my self the reason.
The problem was, as I suspected, set DNS app.
The "normal" uninstalling (settings->manage applications->uninstall) doesn't remove all changes made by the app.
To uninstall it (and changes made) needs to use the uninstall button that appears pressing the menu button while in the app.
The issue started with Chrome bookmarks not syncing to the phone. So i went to Chrome>Settings and found out that "Sync isn't working" . So next i went to Account settings, but i couldn't find a auto-sync option there. Just a Sync now option regarding various account components (Calendar, Chrome, Contacts, etc). After syncing every component, my bookmarks still weren't synced to the phone.
After more research online i learned that Auto-Sync has to be enabled for Chrome to sync correctly. But i can't find from where to enable auto-sync. Everybody said from Settings>Data Usage, but there is no Data Usage menu anywhere. I also checked every menu and sub menu under Settings, and no Auto-Sync option.
Android version is 7.0 and build EVA-L19C432B386.
On my P9 it's like this:
Go to Settings, open "Accounts", tap on "Google" and choose what you want to sync.
Did that, does not work
Unfortunately i can't add screenshots yet (not enough posts) but i went exactly there and pressed the "Sync now" button at the bottom. It began to sync each component (a rotating sync icon appeared besides each) and when it finished i opened back Chrome, but no bookmarks.
A difference would be that in my case underneath each component it says "Auto-sync off, touch to sync", but this is because the Auto-sync option is globally turned off. I think i first have to enable it, and then the sync option from Accounts>Google will work too.
I looked at my P9, and the auto-sync can be enabled in Settings > Accounts > three dots in the right corner. Note that when the energysavingsmode is enabled, it is not possible to enable the auto-sync option.
I hope this helps
Yeap, that was the problem; power saving mode was enabled.
Very good solution
Yes , that's right. You can not turn on Auto sync while power saving is on. First, you should turn it off.
Thanks allot.
Thanks mate

I stumbled upon this myself too on Mate 10 Pro; Google not being able to sync and thus missing bookmarks in chrome. It was regardless of power saving mode. For email I use stock email app. Always when I open the app, a message appears that auto sync is turned off. Only when I enabled auto sync from here ("press here to enable auto sync") , is Google sync able to run.
