Pixel 4 laggy live wallpaper - Google Pixel 4 XL Questions & Answers

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum however I have a strange problem happening that I'm curious to know if anyone else is having..
When I set a live wallpaper, regardless of which one I choose, it constantly lags when swiping through the homepages or unlocking the device. It only really lags with the actual live wallpaper. Anyone have that issue?

Not for me I have live wallpaper on and no lag at all for me. pixel 4XL

Hey, okay thanks! Weird. Maybe I'll try a factory reset. I thought maybe it might be an update but I guess not. Weird. Thank you

I'm experiencing the same issue with live wallpapers and also when I dismiss notifications. If you happen to find a solution, please let me know! Thanks!

Okay sounds good! I will keep you posted. Google offered me a replacement but tbh I don't think I'm gonna do it because I'm assuming it's just software. I think our homepages might be too cluttered maybe?? Because I made a guest account and sure enough it worked with no issues whatsoever. Try that, create a guest account and check the animations on the homescreen. It's smooth. I filed a review on the wallpaper and emailed them so hopefully they're working on a fix

So I checked my app today and my live wallpaper seems to be working fine. I emailed them that night via Google Play live wallpaper app support and it seems to be fixed for the most part. Maybe they pushed an update. Check yours out

Many thanks,

It's really great! I like that it's a game. It's pretty easy to pop the dinos but they really do start piling up. FUN!
Oh, and installed fine, Xoom friendly, no issues.
it gave me a little bit of lag, but it works. stock 3.2.2
is there a way to mute it?

Excellent - thanks for checking it out and the positive feedback!
If you like, you can toggle the game on and off from the settings (along with perspective, size, no of dinos etc) to run it just as a wallpaper.

Sorry it's lagging for you. I was thinking of throttling it back a little anyway - this should sort the issue.
You can toggle sound on/off in the settings in the donation version.
Just to let you know, I've now released:
::V1.0.1
Enabled 'Move To SD' ability - for those who are running tight on space

Wallpaper

Using: NovaLauncher, Xperia Z Revolution ROM, DoomKernel
I can't set any wallpaper on my phone. Nothing works, everything comes up like in the screenshot (see attachment).
I tried Wallpaper Wizardrii and a bunch of other apps from the Play Store nothing worked. So I stuck to the Xperia Wallpapers that come with the phone, it was working fine until today, I rebooted my phone and now it's this way. Nothing I can do will make it normal again. Changed the theme, changed the wallpaper, nothing.
I've had this phone for a couple of weeks now and this may be the last straw.
Any thoughts?
Why do you assume that's Xperia's problem ? Seek support from Nova developers, that's a launcher problem... Clear defaults, use stock lanucher and check if you can change wallpaper. If the problems persists - contact Revolution ROM team, maybe they know what's going on.
Thanks, it was in fact a Novalauncher problem; however I can't really change launchers just like that, I've spent a lot of time getting this just the way I wanted. Will use LWP until an update addresses issue.
I was quick to blame the XZ because truthfully I have been really disappointed by this device overall. Guess I was wrong on this one

It has its ups and downs. But we should expect lots of problems with 3rd party apps because of 1080p resolution which is still a new thing to Android world.

Widgets Sync on 3rd party launchers

I've noticed that on Nova my clock/weather widgets will lose sync with system time after a short while pressing the sections of the widget will not work. The presses register but nothing happens.
I emailed the Nova Dev and he told me uninstall, reinstall and try again. I did that and it didn't make a difference. He asked me to try other launchers to see if the same thing happens. Sure enough I had the same issue on Apex launcher.
Has anyone else noticed this or am I the only one? I'm on Epic ROM w/o Xposed.
Damn, not even one person can tell me whether I'm the only one who is experiencing this?
Launch the security app, go to battery section and configure your widget apps to no restrictions. Your widgets are not synced because of background components are killed if stock settings are used.
Gesendet von meinem Xiaomi Mi MIX
I'd check "battery & performance>battery saver" but yeah the idea is that something is killing the widgets background processes

I use nova launcher and many widgets. I use zooper widget for time /date and weather. It's syncing perfectly fine for me. Whether you are the only one who is experiencing this, I don't know. If no one is posting same problem here, that gives you an indication it might just be you.

if you aren't following all the instructions to make sure notifications/background stuff sync then that is your problem. you must do it for widgets just as you must do it for gmail and other apps you want to sync or they will be killed by the stupid security features built into miui.
read the miui tips thread

I actually never came across that Help thread because it was buried near the bottom. Only after reading that article did I realize that there were so many security features in MIUI that I didn't know about.
Thanks for pointing that info out

gallery app scroll stutter and erratic scrolling

Hi all,
Is anyone else having issues with the stock gallery app where when you try scroll through your camera roll or list of images, it becomes very erratic and stuttery? It's most noticeable to me when I try multi selecting images and scroll through to select more images.
Have updated to the latest version of the gallery app too.
Cheers.

No issue here, not even with multi selecting and scrolling.

Nope. Scrolling in Gallery and Photos is silky smooth for me.
Try giving your screen a clean. I know that sounds stupidly simple but I've found that has worked on my Note 3 in the past.
I'm wondering whether it's my screen protector causing the issue. I don't think it is though because it's only happening in Gallery.
Some others are facing the same issue and some others aren't. Weird.
Yeah, it's weird that it's only happening in the Gallery app. Maybe clear the cache for Gallery.
thanks mate, i already tried that. I've narrowed it down further too. When scrolling through PICTURES tab, it works fine, but if I try scrolling through ALBUMS that's where it starts to have issues with scrolling.
I answered this in another thread. If you have Bixby Remapper installed that's your culprit. Hope that's the case as it's an easy fix

Helped me too! It was driving me insane. Removing Bixby remapper fixed my gallery stutter issues. Thank you!! I registered just to post this. You fixed a major annoyance for me.
Samsung- Stop forcing crap down our throats. I don't want bixby, hell, I don't even need the physical key for it. You're pushing me into a pixel.

Wallpaper changing after restart

Hello people, yesterday I received my Mi 9t Pro and so far I'm quite happy with it. One problem I'm facing is the following: I'm using pixel 3 live wallpapers via Google background app and whenever I restart the phone the lockscreen wallpaper is going back to the stock one. Home screen stays the correct one.
Is anyone facing similar issues or has any idea how to solve this?
Edit: sorry for wrong topic! Thanks to the mods for moving it!
Hey, I had exactly the same problem and I read a solution somewhere that actually worked for me :
Go into settings / manage apps then look for "wallpaper carousel" or something like that and uninstall it.
And that's it, hope it works for you.

Thank you for the answer. I can not find anything similar to wallpaper carousel in my app selection... I might have removed this already with debloating I think!
Not in my indian variant .. but some themes will cause such errors ..
Please goto stock theme.. and check it back
Note : don't uninstall themes ?

Then I remember reading a few times that there is a problem sometimes with MIUI and third party app managing lockscreens.
Have you tried to set it up via the miui gallery app instead of Google app ?
