Hello, I faced this strange fact when I updated the ROM from 10.3.3 to 11.0.3 via MiFlash Tool. The booting up screen of the phone says "unlocked", but in the ROM's developer's options it says that my BL is still locked.
Using XiaoMiADB/Fastboot tools also it says that my BL it's locked.
This is so strange, because I've installed TWRP and Magisk.
I don't think it's an issue, but anyone having this feature (I'd not call it a "problem")?

Hello,
I have a mi8 bought at GeekBuying. It had a open bootloader and a "Global Rom". I tried to update to the eu Rom. Now I have a bootloader locked and the phone only goes into safe mode and fastboot mode. I tried to go back to the official Chinese firmware which did not work as the phone is bootlocked. Also can not do the unlock process using the Xiaomi homepage as I can not access the dev settings...
Any suggestions? Send back to China?
How is it possible to lock the bootloader? Did u use fastboot lock bootloader? Or using Mi flash?
Normal u can flash Xiaomi.eu rom without a problem with a unlocked bootloader it isn't possible to lock a bootloader by flash the eu rom in Twrp.
By the way, I never and I mean never seen so much ppl with bricked phones.

I used fastboot flash. With the official unzipped Rom from the official site. There was also no option to lock or unlock. Old rom had unlocked written on the bootscreen, now shows nothing about it anymore?
Maybe has to to do with a modified firmware by the shop I bought? I myself did not unlock the phone... Came like this.
I bought it also from Geekbuying. I told them that I want to sent it back, cause the box was not a new one, the box was not sealed and the boot loader was unlocked. I have also a bricked phone and I can't use Mi unlock since my account is not bound to this phone.
Hello guys,
So yesterday I got this phone. i am loving it. I have heard that gcam makes camera experience even better. I am tempting to install it.
But I have some questions. Can I relock bootloader and revert back to stock rom and recieve OTAs? Or once its unlocked It can never be stock again?
Also if I manage it relock bootloader. Will it be then covered by warranty?
Hi everyone,

Hello there,
So let me explain to you what happent to me.
1 week ago i received the notification telling me that i can update to android 10 with miui 10.4.8, so i did it and i don't know why when the phone rebooted it was stuck on start screen, infinitly loading.
I let it like this all the night, and then when i woke up it was still in the same state.
So i dedicated to flash my older rom, 10.3.5, but when i flashed it using fastboot rom the bootloader got relocked again and i had this message telling me "This miui version can't be installed on your device" in recovery
I can't unlock bootloader again because i need to add my mi account to miui (wich i have no access to), so i decided to use the EDL method, i contacted some people that have an verified miui account with EDL permission, i flashed 10.3.5 but problem is still here i made sure it was indian rom because my phone is india (raphaelin)
So here i am without a solution
Thanks in advance, i can pay if peope can help me
Use miflash and a stock rom. I've never had the bootloader relock itself through flashing.
Bootloader Unlocked & Rooted with magisk 20+ but still gets bootloader locked status
Hi.,
I am using this device from past 6Months when it was in miui 10 everything was normal like after unlocking the device and rooting device showed Bootloader status as unlocked in Developer settings but after updating to miui 11 in Developer settings it shows bootloader is locked, I haven't checked it before but when Using XiaomiAdbFasbootTools to debloat some apps it was showing bootloader locked so went to developer settings to check, while rebooting device it still shows unlocked at the bottom, can anyone check how your device is behaving
its weird..im updating to miui 11 too few weeks ago using twrp method..my device still rooted now..but on developer setting...its showing that my device is locked..i still have magisk running perfectly and still have twrp installed..maybe it is bug?
This is happening also for me! I think that's a bug.
Don't mind that because if you the unlocked is showing to your boot logo meaning you are still unlocked
I was also gonna say I'm having this; bootloader shows as unlocked during boot but both Xiaomi ADB tools and the developer settings sub-menu for unlock status show locked.
The issue is most likely Magisk hiding root. According to a support ticket on Xiaomi ADB tools;
Magisk hides the fact that you are unlocked and rooted and it spoofs ADB too, that's why it reports that you are locked.

So this may be a consequence of that.
My phone was hardbricked and thinking I had a global device I flashed a global ROM to it, but now it can't boot saying "This Miui version can't be installed on this device". I read that this error comes up from having a locked bootloader.. So is there a way to unlock it from Sp Flash or something similar (would prefer if it weren't fastboot).

While it could come from a locked bootloader, you would know if your bootloader had relocked from the tool and account you originally used to unlock it.

could be caused through by several things including, perhaps, non-allowed downgrade of MIUI
