so i unlocked my bootloader a few months ago when i received my k20 pro 8/128 variant, i believe it was a chinese edition but when received it had a mi9t pro rom installed miui..
i had to wait a few days to unlock the bootloader and flashed pixel exp,
last night i tried reflashing the global official boot img via xioami flash and ended up relocking bootloader.
now i have the stock recovery and a message saying miui cant run on this phone,
i have tried unlocking bootloader via miui unlock but it states my phone is not bound to this account which when checked online its is linked to the account...
Are my only options opening the phone up and sorted out EDL recovery ,
Thanks
If it was locked with Global rom, then it was a global varient, not Chinese.
anyways i am now unable to flash using miflash as bootloader is locked

Yeah I think you need to EDL flash sadly, you can take the phone to a repair shop to only open up the phone so you don't mess it yourself, after that it's pretty straight forward.
any companies can you recommend for edl flash?

Thank you very much for help. I have read both but unfortunately i can not UNLOCK my bootloader… when i was trying to unlock the bootloader through MI UNLOCK, it says "Current account is not bound to this device". Otherwise if this was succesful and i could unlock it, then it would be easy i believe.

Since you locked the boot loader, you'd have to flash (with fastboot) using the same flavor of miui which was installed. (example: chinese or eu variation), otherwise you won't be able to boot.

Yes, that i understood… There was EU variation with unlocked bootloader, which i do not know why, but okay…
But now i can not unlock it, it says, when i try to unlock it though fastboot with mi unlock, it says "Current acount is not bound to this device, ADD your acount and device in MIUI"s setting > developer options> mi unlock status.. but obviously i can not do it since i can not turn on my phone, its stuck on recovery mode.

If you know how to sideload the rom then everything is become okay dont worry
After successful debrick you must bound you mi account to your phone and wait for bl unlock then reflash with mi flash tool and global rom
AND DONT LOCK YOUR BOOTLOADER AGAIN
Yes, unfortunately i do not know how to sidload the rom... But when i have Chinese rom downloaded then what do i do with that? I connect the phone through mi assistant and there it can be flashed?
I had the same thing happen. You need to force a firmware flash ?
I had someone on xda recommend an excellent recovery tool.
It's called 'miflashpro'. It can be hard to find the English version. I did eventually but actually unbricked my Mi9 with the Italian version.
99% chance your cell can be fixed this way
bricked too
I'm having the same problem here, after wipe in twrp mode my phone restart and i'm blocked on bootloader screen.

I did the same thing with a Mi CC9 relocked the bootloader by mistake thinking it was like any other android phone. Did you have a Xiaomi account associated with the phone and signed into after enabling oem unlock in developer options.
If tha'ts the case you can use https://en.miui.com/unlock/ tool from where but it checks your phone number to see whether its associated with mi unlock.
Otherwise you will have to use EDL method which involves disassembling back of phone and shorting out two pins to initialize EDL data transfer but you need a EDL associated account this (belief xiaomi has revoked everyone access to these)
Hello all members.I had same problem and I open this phone with suport from youtube .I try clean some connector and worming cpu and motherboard. After change the battery with new. When close the phone they suprised me and working good. After 10 hours again close and bricked. I try sake and again open .So....the real problem its not CPU and motherboard but some connector dont touch good. Sory for my English. I hope some other find which connector have problem in this phone and pm me. Now my MI 9 working good but I keep bickerful ...
Hi Guys,
Everything went wrong today. At the end i went to the point where i myself locked bootloader with fastboot. Want to unlock it again but this strange error appeared:

Does anyone know what this means? Phone is locked, can only go into fastboot.
Same here. My dumbass thought it would be a good idea to lock the bootloader (don't ask why because I don't even know the answer). System is destroyed and can only boot to fastboot. No Mi ID associated with it.

For EDL flash you need xiaomi authorized account, there is rumors that some Indians make EDL flash with remote connection and their authorized account for 12$. Try to search in google or if you have a xiaomi seller or official repair in your home town, check there how much it will cost you.
You sure you have a global version? Were you bought the phone? Was it with locked or unlocked bootloader and what ROM was on it? Because some sellers, mostly on aliexpress and similar, just unlock bootloader on Chines devices, flash a global ROM and call it global version.
From the image attached, it looks like someone used the Find Device feature and activated Lost Mode. Is the Mi account number shown yours?

Hello. I flashed Global ROM over European ROM. my phone bricked, system and recovery is destroyed, I have only access to fastboot. I tried to unlock it and mi unlocker tool says I need to wait about 120 hours. My question is, will it unlock after that period time even when the phone is not in use and turned off? Because I don't want to open the back and pay for EDL flashing. Thanks.

As far as I know it should unlock OK. I personally haven't done this, but there are accounts on these forums of others who successfully unlocked the phone after the wait period in the same circumstances as you. If you were going to have problems you wouldn't have got as far as getting the wait period.

Hi all,
I bought my K20 Pro on Ebay and later found out, that the seller has unlocked the Bootloader and installed a Global Beta Rom on it. In detail it is the Miui 10 Global 9.5.31 Beta, Android version 9 PKQ1.190223.001. Now I do not get any OTA updates and have a security level still of May 1, 2019. If I try to manually download and install the latest update I do only get error messages. Can someone help me to solve this problem pls.
Flash firmware via fastboot and mi flash tool but don't re-lock your bootloader because apparently your phone is china version and after locking bootloader with global rom you'll brick your device. Next time double check from who you're buying a phone.

It depends on your OS. But mostly you need to have adb/fastboot drivers. Check also Device Manager if it's correctly installed.

Makes no difference.
Boot the phone in fastboot mode and connect it to the PC.
Check your PC can see the phone correctly with the
Code:
fastboot devices
command. You should get a response showing an ID number of the connected phone.
If your not sure about the above 2 steps, do a bit of research. You'll very quickly find informally about these things.
If you get a valid response to the above, then the Mi Flash Tool will be able to see the phone now.
You might be able to update from Global Beta to Global Stable using the local update method since your bootloader is unlocked. There's also no chance of accidentally relocking your bootloader and bricking your phone but since you are supposed to be running the China/India ROM with your hardware you might get an error message.
I think flashing via MI Flash is a better idea because the shop that scammed you might have also installed malware or Spyware on your phone in addition to the Global ROM. They also could have installed a modded ROM coded to prevent MI Flash from recognizing your phone.

Not recommended at all. Very likely to have issues afterwards.
It's considered safe to do this going from stable to beta, but it's recommended to fastboot flash if going from beta back to stable.
hello, i have a problem with my redmi 9c
my phone just started bootloping alone, i went to sleep and i woke up with my phone dead
the phone is stock, no root, no custom recovery and still with bootloader locked because i don't need features who need it, i can access fastboot but recovery is not posible to reach because Vol+/Power is useless, the phone do nothing pressing those buttons, only with Vol-/Power, so i can't make a factory reset or wipe data, the only thing what i did a couple of hours before the phone broke was change my security pattern (i don't think it's related anyway...), and it was 8 or 10 hours before the issue. sadly the phone warranty expired in january and i have nothing to do at this moment
the phone stops the bootloop after draining the battery, with the bootloader locked of course i'm unable to flash a stock rom, even with MiFlash
what could be the problem?
thanks! (and sorry for my bad english, spanish native here)

Hi, my first guess would be faulty hardware, for example a dead motherboard.
Is there any error when attempting to flash the Stock ROM with MiFlash? Afaik you should be able to flash Stock ROMs even with locked bootloader.

Hmm okay, yeah that sounds like it's preventing you from flashing simply because your bootloader is locked.
Which Stock ROM did you try? Same as the currently installed version or an older one?

If you tried an older firmware, it's possible that it didn't flash because of Xiaomi's "Anti-Rollback" Feature which exists to prevent users from Downgrading.
But yes, it should let you flash the same version afaik.
What Region is your Device? On Locked Bootloader you can only flash Firmwares that are from the same Region. (For example Global or EEA)

Oh okay then.
If in the worse case nothing works, your last (paid) solution would probably be to contact one of these "Mi Auth" Guys on Telegram. They have acess to Authorized Accounts that are able to flash your Phone in EDL Mode (might need to open your phone to short test-points though)
I had to pay them about 20€ to get my old Mi 11 (which I sold a while ago) running again after it got stuck in EDL Mode. :/
