Hey all, was wondering if I should just choose UK as the region, although, I'm in NYC? Can't choose any USA region. Should be fine, right? Also, using MetroPCS as my carrier, thanks.
I have an international version and noticed the same thing. I picked UK. Phone is in the USA on T-Mobile and works great.
Which region are you referring to? The initial setup region or language and region within the settings menu?

Sorry for late reply. USA wasn't there as an option, I just chose UK, updated to EMUI10, then set the region to USA. Everything working perfectly!

Is this the same . It was announced today

I believe it's different. Today's announcement is for availability in UK and Europe markets. The bands are different from China market. Will be compatible to Singapore. Except no LTE.

I believe, that it's the same as chinese one with different modem to work on european networks.

Recently, I've gotten an s3 mini (which I am using right now), and after flashing a few (dozen) roms, I want to go to stock, compete stock.
But there's a problem, I've scoured through the internet, and can't find a link to the ROM for my specific model. All the roms I find are for Germany, Russia, Poland, etc. But I'm 100% sure that this phone is from AMERICA. At&t specifically.
If someone, anyone, could find a tar for me, I'd be very grateful.
My phone is a i8190n, and I'm on 4.1.2.

Here you go. It doesn't matter where you got your phone from. You can flash any firmware made for another country. You'll still be able to change language so no point in searching for the exact firmware with which your phone came. Just flash the latest one from the link I gave you and you will be fine. Also the latest one isn't always on top so look at the build dates on the right (ANI1 is the latest for your model)!
Thanks for the info and the link, that's exactly what I needed. Odin, here I come!
Hello,
I have bought a note 5, which came with a singtel app, so it came probably from Singapore (good, because no region lock). It lacks Samsung pay and T-Mobile WiFi calling, so I am wondering what are my options for installing a different rom that would include any of these features, ideally the stock from t-mobile. Before I root the phone, any suggestions or pointers?
Best,
Do

You can install a different ROM on it, but not the one from T-mobile.
It's impossible unless you purchased US T-Mobile Variant.
Hi guys I bought a new note 8 from eBay last week but when I checked the phone details its list as United Arab Emirates and I'm in the UK, is it ok to use?

That's weird, never seen that before. My N950F lists hawrdware information there instead of country. What is the original CSC code?

I have the same UAE model, and my 'About' screen looks just like yours. I am in Canada and wanted an Exynos model, so I bought this one from an Amazon seller. Popped in my local sim and haven't had any problem since. I don't see why it wouldn't work for you, but someone else can always chime in too. Not familiar with UK networks
I was going to ask if that's what it looked like when a phone is region locked but sefrcoko confirmed his is working fine so scratch that idea.
Thank you for the quick responses, here is my csc
Good to hear its fine to use as it got me worried it was a fake phone
